Oh my god that book needs an editor.

Really fun game, but one of the most frustrating things to read since original Mordheim.

I do really recommend it as a sci fi skirmish, really so much fun, but the book desperately could do with a second edition to tighten the language, have some consistency and maybe write some challenges that use a stat other than Reaction.

Disarming atomic bombs using your reflexes is very funny, but Intelligence is also a stat and almost entirely unused!

I love this kit and think it fits the Mordheim vibe so well. What warbands do you think would make the best use of them?

So I know the Chaos Dwarves have Hobgoblins, but they aren't the star of the show.

I think having a single Chaos Dwarf leader could be cool, or 2-3 total. But essentially I really want to use loads of these guys!

There's a few Goblin based teams but I'm not very experienced with them. Anyone advise what could work the best?

I guess I could replace the big Orcs with Chaos dwarves?

Or just run them as Mercs?

All ideas welcome!

Edit-

Thanks for the replies everyone, I've now picked up the kit along with the Chaos Dwarf Underworlds band and a single Orruk Rager from Aos.

Plan is to either run them as Chaos Dwarves, or as Orc mob depending on what's allowed in the campaign.

The Orruk Rager will either represent the Bull centaur or a Troll, but given they're covered in scars I think they work well as a slave gladiator type model. Even though Mordheim is set in the Old World the Chaos Dwarves can use dark magics to enhance an orc to these more obtuse proportions

Any interesting options for Venators taking Brutes, that using the rosters Ogryns doesn't provide?

So I'm mostly building my team as a hobby project, but I like to ensure I'm representing the rules as well as I'll use em eventually!

Part of the fun of making a crew is obviously making a big guy. And being Venators we already got those built in.

But I'm just wondering if any of the other Brutes are particularly fun to bring along? Bring in a different playstyle etc?

Edit- to clarify I'm not looking for a list, more opinion on what people have found fun and interesting

Made these for a different game, but thinking I could run them as Venators in Necromunda. Any advice on models to add to round them out for that purpose?

As per title, my Space Truckers for Space Station Zero could be fun for Venators

But I need more bodies and probably some more impressive guns?

I was thinking about getting one of the loader suit heavy weapon Votann to convert to an Ogryn. I could also potentially use Votann with unmodified legs for the Venators too?

I have Rein and Raus from Blackstone fortress as well come to think of it, they are also loaded up with kit and would probably blend right in.

Open to any and all ideas!

Any games out there that do 3d movement?

I'm working on my own game, premise being it's under water

And I was thinking it really would need 3d movement to sell the idea of a scuba skirmish game.

I have a few ideas for it, but curious of there's any games out there that have tackled it already that I could look to for inspiration?

Maybe games about flying or similar?

Space Station Zero- Question on Commanders for those experienced with the game

Hey everyone, just building my crew from SS0 and I'm just hoping for some clarification on the Commander building rules.

Does their class have to be one from the list of allowed classes based on your ship?

I know they aren't part of the other restrictions, such as a Cargo crew needing only 2 of each class, because they only have 4 to choose from and for an 8 man crew that maxes you out before you add the 9th members being the commander.

But I can't tell if the Commander still has to be one of the available to the ship options. Don't wanna make them an Ace Pilot if that's now intended etc

Any input would be helpful! Thanks!

After the Legionary Sgt model I wanted to see how a Chosen might look for this project.

Much more tech horror, more mutation, more random crap sticking out of him etc.

I know Chosen can't use plasma guns, but it's a placeholder until we see the 11th rules and I decide what to arm them all with.

Cult of the Eight Toothed Cog

A bizarre chaos warband who originated within the Word Bearer Legion. Unlike most chaos legions they do not deny the Emperor's divinity, instead they believe he is the Omnissiah- The Machine God made flesh.

With close ties to the Dark Mechanicum and the Hellforges, they are enamoured with Scrap Code as a pure form of Chaos corruption.

They believe the Omnissiah can be corrupted with Scrap Code like any other machine and that infecting him is the key to winning the Long War.

So this is a test model for my CSM army I'm looking to take forward into 11th. (Had an army, but decided to strip it and revamp it for the new edition)

I've just always liked the idea of Word Bearers and the Omnissiah, it's just something that's not touched on. The WBs were censored for worshipping Big E, but the Mechanicum get a free pass? It's an area I find interesting!

I'm not building the army until we get rules for 11th, but I have a Chosen I'm working on as another test model so will hopefully get him finished soon and posted up.

Also, this is specifically a Legionary Sergeant with Plasma Pistol and Power Fist. To help give it that Mechanicum look to the army I'm essentially giving anyone with a Power Fist or Heavy Melee Weapon a Servo-Arm

Would love any input on the lore or ideas for where I could take it/change it!

Hey all, so I don't have any models to share for it yet but I've always liked the idea of Mechanicum themed Word Bearers.

I've previously wanted to do a Heresy Loyalist force who when they were censored at Monarchia pivoted to Omnissiah worship instead as a loophole. Would have been an Explorator Fleet with a strong mech presence etc.

But I've recently decided to strip and rebuild/repaint my 40k CSM army and I'm thinking of doing this but the Traitor version.

Word Bearer warband with strong ties to the Dark Mechanicus. Sees scrap code as a pure version of Chaos etc possibly ties to Vashtorr as well.

I'm mostly posting this to see if anyone has any ideas to expand on this? Either for units but maybe for lore ideas too? Actually a name for Warband is something I'm struggling with. So all ideas welcome!

Plan is ultimately lots of bionics, pipes and tech marine bits. Possibly a metallic red scheme, maybe steel bodies and the red on the arms/packs.
