For those who play both path of exile and sorcery, can you share some of the most interesting references and Easter eggs connecting both games?

I have never played POE and am looking to start with some online lore content before trying the game.

Curious to know what are some of the most fun and interesting references across

DuressFest, a community-run event for Spring 2027, which will succeed Lobstercon for the North American Premodern Championship has been successfully funded with over 540 attendees (and still counting)

The last NA premodern event at Lobstercon sold out within seconds with over 300 participants.

As such the DuressFest crew decided on such a campaign because the all-or-nothing model for a larger venue. This is their vision for what a large-scale, community-run event can be.

Congrats to them and the format!

The Japanese BnR article on 10 Aug actually elaborates on Legacy ban of Fantasticar unlike the original article

Translation from mtg legacy sub:

Very happy for the in depth analysis.

Funny enough there actually is an in depth analysis on the Japanese announcement for the bans, written by Carmen.

https://mtg-jp.com/reading/publicity/0039672/

I'll copy and paste the translation here - and be aware that it's going to be janky looking because it's a translation.

Legacy (This section is brought to you by Carmen Klomparens)

The Fantasticar is banned.

Since the release of Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes, various cards from the set have been seen in action in Magic's non-rotation formats. Among them, Fantastica has stood out in Legacy and Vintage .

When The Fantasticar was first revealed, it immediately captured the community's attention. This low-cost card with tremendous explosive power works well with many of the tools that have already established themselves in Eternal formats. Although we were wary of it from the beginning, as is our philosophy at Studio X (Magic Development Studio), we are cautious about taking preemptive measures against Eternal format cards. We have a wide range of tools that can answer specific strategies. For many players, the appeal of Eternal formats lies in their high power level.

However, "The Fantasticar" has been adopted in such a wide variety of strategies that it has proven nearly impossible to deal with using a sufficient number of counter cards.

The most natural fit for The Fantasticar's is likely in Doomsday, a deck that features many spells that can be cast without paying their mana cost and also includes Dark Ritual . In just a few weeks since The Fantasticar's release, this deck's win rate and usage rate have skyrocketed. And Fantastica has n't only found a place in combo-focused decks.

A fair-oriented Dimir deck nicknamed "UBer" has also seen a sudden surge in success in recent weeks. Decks incorporating this kind of combo are not usually what we want to see. They play a perfectly fair game while threatening to unleash a combo that can almost end the game. We spent a long time addressing this very issue with "Dimir Reanimator," and ultimately had to make the decision to ban "Entomb."

Should you try to win the game early? To do that, you'll have to dodge Thoughtseize and the numerous counterspells that Legacy's blue decks boast. What will prolong the game? Can you survive a war of attrition with a fair battle against the creatures that "UBer" unleashes?

And there are also decks that can move back and forth between the boundaries of "fair" and "combo."

The fact that The Fantasticar has been successful in combo-focused decks, fair-oriented blue decks, and colorless artifact decks indicates the lack of a universal countermeasure against this card. We have seen The Fantasticar in over 10 different archetypes, and its presence is a cause for great concern .

The fact that cards included in supplement sets are successful in Legacy is not necessarily a problem. However, a card with such a significant impact, regardless of the product it's included in, far exceeds acceptable limits. We are constantly working to improve how we create Magic cards, and we have introduced a new step in the design process that focuses on non-rotation formats. We have seen positive results from this new approach, which was introduced after the development cycle of The Fantasticar , and we believe that this type of risk in Eternal formats will be caught in advance in the future.

As we approach the time of year for Eternal Weekend once again, our decisions are made with that in mind. We want everyone to be able to enjoy Eternal without any worries at this event. We have decided to take action against Fantastica now, both in terms of its versatility and power level. We look forward to the Legacy environment after the banning of Candelabra of Tawnos, without the pressure of game thinning caused by The Fantasticar .

How would you categorize decks archetypes in Sorcery?

Typical deck archetypes in tcg falls into aggro, midrange, control and combo.

I have these doesn’t really translate into sorcery given the game design and board movement.

How would you categorize decks archetypes in Sorcery, if any?
