Being Demi feels like a curse, I wish it didn’t. I wish I could date another Demi.

Sad chud rant incoming. 💔

+ Talking about sexual frustration. You’ve been warned.

I really, really wish it was easier to meet other demisexuals IRL. I hate when people minimize my experience and specific need in a relationship as “unrealistic” or “Disney”.

Im Straight, Cis, monogamous and heavily Demi. I very, very rarely find anybody attractive in a personality sense, even rarer in a physical sense. The only sense of romanticism/eroticism in my life is projected onto a very specific fictional character. 😣

I crave romance. I crave a connection. I crave exclusivity and choosing one another, not needing one another but wanting to be together. I crave sex with the connection. I am hyper specific about anything pornographic and spend more time searching than enjoying; which is like… once a month? I feel like I could spend my time better? My body just does NOT feel good or interested? I hate feeling tethered to feeling like I need another person to experience a very human emotion/desire/drive.

ALL of friends are allo, various identities and such. I hear about their casual excursions and live vicariously through them at times, maybe even taking notes. When we all go out, it’s just effortless to them. I don’t wanna bar pickup where some stranger is staring at my curves. I wanna talk to the dork that’ll tell me all about his passion for various bugs and rocks or some shit.

It’s not even about finding people to possibly date, I’ve been told that I am attractive and I have experienced being hit on countless times. It makes me seem like I think I’m “too good for” certain people, shallow but I just genuinely feel nothing when approached in a typical sense. Conventionally attractive people do nothing for me, although I can acknowledge aesthetic.

After having dated an allosexual person for five years of my life, I just don’t know if I see myself wanting to date another one. Too many differences, not on the same page about many things. I do understand that it CAN work, I just wish I met someone with the same amount of intensity. I know it would drastically cut down my dating pool but damn, a woman can dream.

Right now, my only outlet is writing fan fiction. It helps a little, but it’s frustrating because I always feel the need to make my smut works have some familiarity/relational closeness to really feel they’re good. Can’t even escape in “fantasy” I suppose. 😭

Sorry. I needed to whine a bit. I’m pretty frustrated with my functionality and feel incredibly lonely or pathetic at times.

Purchased today (40’s)

I usually stick to 70’s looks, but this was too sweet a deal to pass on. 25 for the set (Jacket and skirt!)
It feels great wearing something my great grandmother likely wore, I miss her.

One button popped off as I was posing, easy fix.

Vintage find I scored! LOVE! (40’s!)

One of the buttons popped off, simple fix.
Here’s the tag; antique store owner said it was from the ‘40s :) $25 for the set!
I typically gravitate towards 70’s more than anything, it this set was just too good to pass up for the price.

I feel so happy wearing something my great grandmother would’ve worn, I still miss her.

I wish I was bisexual; fully.

Im F and suspect I’m biromantic but the female form just does not arouse me in the slightest.

Ever since I was younger I was around many types of wlw relationships (My aunts, family friends, etc.) and it was always so great and normalized for me. It wasn’t talked about, just was and I loved it!

I am overwhelmingly attracted to men in both regards, but I’ve ‘dated’ both. With women it would only last a day with them initiating and my heart was just never in it. No spark, no lust, no nothing. The thought of messing with female anatomy makes me feel ill. I couldn’t imagine being fully into or taking a lesbian relationship seriously or feeling that spark.

I’m not fetishizing here because it’s just like any other relationship and there’s zero sexual component to it- I just wish I were into it. I just find women super aesthetically pleasing and wish I were fully aligned and could love someone to a full capacity.

I’d make my characters in games in wlw relationships, I’ve experimented with women many times before and attempted so many times but it just never clicked. I’m so sad, honestly. There wasn’t any pressure or influence I could think of, I messed around and found I’m just heterosexual. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Anyone else have this experience? I’m guessing I’m slightly biromantic but damn, it feels depressing.
Sorry if this sounds tone-deaf guys. It just is.

What does my art style make you think of/feel? I’m trying to get back into art. (TW: Blood last slide)

Im 25 and feel like my art is super meh, honestly. I feel more happy when sketching and rarely have finished pieces because it’s just not fun for me, but I should.
This is all digital but I usually prefer traditional!

And yes… I love many fandoms. Mainly TF2 (I have a fat crush on sniper 💔)

My old lady and my new kitten. What would they both tell me if they could?

My old lady is pretty upset about the new arrangement, typical cat attitude with a newcomer. We’re taking it step by step. Shes used to living alone but I wanted her to have another being around so she wasn’t lonely 10+ hours a day.

Kitten is from a farm and has been settling in since Wednesday. Very clingy, loves to climb up me and very curious about everything. Typical kitten.

Besides their normal kitty behaviors, what are they wanting to tell me?

What places are in need of volunteers?

Hi everyone!
I’m looking to take a day to do a bit of help around town now that I’ll have more time to do so.
I would like to avoid anything labor intensive because my job already is, but just wanting to hear who is in real need of some help and maybe spread some awareness while I’m at it.

Thanks! :)

Acting gigs/practice?

Hi guys!

I don’t have much experience besides being in a few schools in high school, but I was hoping to look into exploring the world of acting.
I understand we have a lot of improv opportunities around here, would that be a great place to start?

For a reference, I am in my mid 20s, I’m just wanting to get my foot in the door to see what it’s all about.

Introducing kitten and traveling plans

Hello everyone!

Need some help to navigate what would be best to do in this situation with minimal aggravation.
I currently have a cat that is 11 years old, I will be adopting a kitten (4 Months) within the next few weeks.

The reason for the rush to take this kitten home is because she was born at my mom’s, her property owner has a barn cat problem that is out of my mom’s control. This particular kitten is female, so we are wanting to get her fixed or at least separated from the risk of becoming pregnant and to get her vaccines or any other care if she needs ASAP. Her and her siblings seem fine and healthy for now.

The situation is a bit inconvenient, this month I have a lot of traveling to do.
I will not be able to home the kitten until the 13th. This gives me about two weeks until I am going on a cruise from the 28th of Aug into 4 Sept.

I am wondering as to if this would give my cat and the kitten enough time in between in order to adjust before I go on my trip. My cat has been notoriously lukewarm with other cats, she’s never gotten into any fights with the ones she doesn’t like and in general just gets grumbly.

I have someone who is willing to stop by and feed them twice a day, however, I do not think she would have enough time to sit and play with the kitten. I am considering asking one of my friends to stay for those few days in order to closely monitor them.

Thoughts or recommendations?

Any online programs or practices to exercise your brain into adulthood?

Hello!

I’m a 25F, been out of school for a while now (Unfortunately) and have found that my basic knowledge concerning.. well.. everything in general bothers me.

Mathematics was never my strong suit, my geography is pretty poor besides the basics/obvious and my science is… decent. I tend to get along better with science/literature and consume it regularly.

I could read more about those particular subjects but I learn better by doing; I feel completely ignorant and much of what I’ve learned over most of my adolescent life has been slipping and it feels terrible. I don’t want to remain clueless.

I plan to go back to college again soon, however Its taking me a lot longer than anticipated.

One foot in embracing the limited “reality” I have, the other coaxing me to be an observer until “death”. How do you live *IN* the moment again, yet aware without dread?

I’m not sure what would be the proper tag here, journey seems the most likely.

This past month has been an intense awakening of existentialism, pain, mourning, loss and grief. Everything came crashing down at once; previous grieving I never allowed myself to do for loved ones, future grieving for the ones I love, still here, eventually passing- and then finally, the acknowledgment of my own mortality.

I flip between bliss and the absolute appreciation for life, seeing the beauty in everyone, their lack of awareness just being in the moment or within their own heads- and have a small dash of envy, yet knowing.

Materials mean much less, experiences and stimulating my sense while they still exist have been my shift in priority to appreciate life while I still have it. While I understand my body is temporary and is technically in a constant state of living and dying, I still have shifted to treating myself much gentler and taking care of my “vehicle”.

I still have my human fears, anxieties and everything that tethers me back to objective observable reality (I’m iffy about taking a trip because it requires plane travel and planes make me freak out). Of course the thought of my rotting corpse being cold and forced into a teeny space for all eternity makes my gut wretch, but I know it’s my brain at work and in the end- I won’t care or have the option to anyways.

The only thing that brings me momentary peace is when I sleep; If death is anything like it, it’s absolutely merciful. My experience with anesthesia brought me some comfort, even if it is not an actual experience of death… it’s probably similar. Except not. Difference is you eventually wake up from sleep with the benefits; because it is rejuvenating.. not just a full stop.

Arbitrary things such as money, material, beauty standards, politics, etc. have become essentially meaningless and each time I “play” into or allow myself to assign meaning to it, it feels like playing a meaningless game. We assign these things and treat others differently because of it when in reality, none of it matters.

Then, sometimes, the thought of my eventual end and others constantly dampens my day to day interactions. I image them a few centuries later as dust, part of the water, part of the earth.

I pass by buildings with history, the sidewalks, the towns and shops and think about the eventual end of their business, then future changes that will come after that, then the degradation of the very materials of what makes the buildings and such in the far future eons.

I walk through a park, appreciating the impermanence of the beauty of a particular flower. I imagine what loved and existed beings lay far below where it is planted, rested.

All I see now are the transitions, and I struggle with the thought of life moving so quickly, each moment a blink, and it’s gone. Savoring and just BEING is hard, especially when there is no answers. No why, which maybe, is a blessing in disguise.

I am both amazing each day at the conditions of the universe and how it brought me in particular; my body, mind, thoughts, opinions, everything into “existence” as well as others- and yet as I’ve experienced this call to awareness or awakening, I struggle to go back into the human experience. I am afraid if I give into the human experience, humor what really doesn’t matter and allow myself to indulge that I will lose my profound appreciation for my short amount of time here and end up doing something in my life that didn’t truly speak to my “soul”.

It’s just so beautiful, but so horrifying and cruel; at least that’s what my human brain tells me. There’s just so much we are unaware of with our limited human forms and so many things that are unexplained. We create, we adapt, we are amazing and yet- we forget we are part of a larger scale, a phenomena and a part of nature.

I question everything. Science (I love it, absolutely.), various religious of philosophical beliefs, etc. and see the fear which drove centuries of humans pillaging and conquering as opposed to sharing and pondering. Everything comes back to fear, to survival, to our earthly needs.

Buddhism is the closest I feel in practice can acknowledge suffering and urges self awareness and questioning everything- yet it still has its original interpretations of existence; which I feel nobody can truly answer. I tangle between loathing and enthusiasm about finding out for myself, eventually.

My interpretation of life, thus far, has been that we are here to create. To live. To die. To dissipate and eventually, reform. We have the responsibility of the now, the very now we cling to, to will it into something that does matter. I refuse to let overt nihilism take a hold onto me, because it just feels like a waste of time to see everything so void.

I don’t care if it’s chemicals. I don’t care if it’s a rare statistical occurrence. It is what it is and even if it has no inherit value, meaning or purpose, it’s there for us to grasp and interpret. To me, all is full of love.

Hell even as I write this, I have no clue and won’t until I do, eventually and will- kick the bucket.

Ever since I was younger, I had intense wanderlust. This experience has pushed me into making this into a reality since well.. “reality” is short. I now find myself preparing in the next few years (If I make it that far ;)) to live on the road, van life seeing the sights of the states, natural beauties of the world and creating the beautiful collage of experiences and knowledge that I will someday- inevitably part with. (I am also struggling with cultivating a fruitful career while also balancing my need to travel; I don’t just want to only depend on seasonal jobs.)

I also intend to take peoples stories and share them; perhaps to remind others just how vast and rich other’s peoples existence is. I feel as though instead of seeing us all as fellow ants going day by day in a large, ever expanding universe and defaulting to insignificance; I see the significance. Yet, also, the insignificance and the little care life has about being “fair”.
I want to be a storyteller, that much is clear.

I now have every moment filled with gratitude, with appreciation, with reverence.. but it does get exhausting sometimes to feel “guilt” or anxiety when I find myself slipping into unawareness.

Thank you for reading, please if there’s any wisdom, experience or thoughts to be challenged or just general discussion… I’d love to hear it.

Teetering between accepting the absurdity but keeping one foot in unaware bliss. How do you balance both?

I’m not sure what would be the proper tag here, journey seems the most likely.

Existentialism brings the courage to strip away all the strange barriers between we’ve made between self actualization and to create the meaning for myself while I still can- yet still causes the constant internal monologue of “what’s the point anyways?”
