The Man I Love review – Rami Malek needs a lighter touch in Ira Sachs’ 80s Aids drama.Sachs’ film about an HIV-positive actor in the homophobic Reagan-era 80s is well-intended, but Malek’s mannered performance is hard to love

Long before Formula 1, World Endurance, and MotoGP, there was the Isle of Man TT. As the world’s oldest continuously running motorsport event, the TT remains a one-of-a-kind spectacle with no substitute and no equal. With riders pushing to the edge at around 200 mph, the TT represents the pinnacle of sporting endeavor and the relentless pursuit of glory.
Production on Isle of Man is being conducted under extensive safety protocols developed in collaboration with experienced stunt, medical, and motorsport safety professionals. Measures include dedicated on-track safety supervision, comprehensive cast and crew safety briefings, embedded medical support, managed filming environments and controlled-access procedures, and aligned safety management systems in collaboration with the Race Organiser and Amazon MGM Studios production standards.
“The Isle of Man TT is unlike anything else in the world–the speed, the commitment, the history, the passion,” said director Reid Carolin. “From the beginning, our goal has been to capture the intensity and emotional truth of this world in a way that feels immersive, visceral, and deeply human. We feel a tremendous responsibility to honor this legendary race, the sport, and the local community while sharing that story with people around the world. As we bring this story to life, we’re working closely with TT race officials, motorsport safety experts, and local authorities to build an extensive safety framework for every aspect of the production. We’re incredibly grateful to the Isle of Man community and TT organizers for their partnership, collaboration, and commitment throughout the process.”
‘Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark’ Sequel Is Stuck in Legal Limbo
“I mean, yes and no. What I can say is that it’s been stuck in a bit of a copyright ownership hell with two studios that don’t exist anymore, that produced a movie together, CBS Films and EOne, and they don’t really exist anymore,” Øvredal told the website.
“The rights spread out to two other companies, and then they have to agree to figure it out between them, and that has taken some time, but there is movement. We do have conversations about it once every couple of months, and there is currently some movement, I’m gathering. But it becomes about legal departments and not about creatives, because we have a story that I love that is just ready to go whenever somebody decides, ‘I own the movie, let’s go make it.'”
Budapest-Based Love Cubed Ramps up International Slate With Cassian Elwes, Veronica Ferres-Produced Horror ‘Controllers’ (EXCLUSIVE)
“Controllers,” which marks the feature directorial debut of Canadian filmmaker Adam Azimov, is a horror-thriller set in the aftermath of a devastating outbreak that has driven a small family into isolation on a remote farm. Raised to fear the mysterious Controllers — infected people capable of manipulating others through touch — two sisters have spent their lives cut off from the outside world, surviving behind fences, traps and strict rules meant to keep them alive.
But when a stranger is brought into their home, old fears begin to surface and the fragile dynamic holding the family together starts to crack. As tension mounts and trust erodes, the sisters are forced to question everything they’ve been taught about the world beyond their borders.
Describing it as “atmospheric, intimate and unsettling,” the producers say “Controllers” “blends psychological horror with grounded dystopian suspense, exploring themes of family, isolation and the fear of losing control over the people we love.”

Insiders at the studio, as well as box office watchers, believe next summer’s tentpole “Star Wars: Starfighter” has a better chance of reenergizing the series. The oceanic adventure, directed by Shawn Levy (“Deadpool & Wolverine”) and starring Ryan Gosling, doesn’t have the baggage of continuing a TV show and could serve as a fresh start. It helps that Gosling scored with another recent space adventure, “Project Hail Mary.”
“Disney needs something new and exciting to bring energy to the franchise,” Handler says. “Ryan Gosling is as hot as can be right now. ‘Starfighter’ could be the way to go.”
