Picked up some beaten up 2000nxs and a DJM 750 MK1 for 800 bucks. A steal indeed but a lot of work has to be done with all of them.
I loved racing around on the Fujimi Kaido in Motorsport, and from what I can remember, the game said that the track was similar to the Nurburgring in that it was made up of public roads that were shutdown specifically for racing purposes. So why couldn’t Playground Games get Turn 10 to help put the track into the FH6 map? They’re both fictional, so I’m sure it wouldn’t have been that hard to figure out a way to implement it during the early design stages of the map. Would love to hear the community input on why the tracks may have been excluded
As a massive hockey player and fan, it’s really cool to find out that the historic Canadiens arena once hosted the Robots during the 2007 leg of the tour. But I’ve only been able to find a few pictures of the set and only 16 seconds of low quality audio recorded on a digital cam.
I really do wonder what that show must’ve been like… The Bell centre itself holds roughly 20K people for hockey, and it is regarded as one of the best venues in the NHL, so I can’t imagine how crazy the atmosphere must have been for Daft Punk, considering the French connection and all.
Hey all, I have been DJing for a little while now, close to a year if we are counting the iPhone Djay Pro app, but probably only a few months with a physical controller (DDJ-FLX4). During my precarious use of the Djay Pro iPhone app, I began to become familiar with the 4-channel mixing techniques, usually for multi-song mashups. The touch screen was small, and pushing the wrong button was pretty easy to do, but I made it work.
Fast forward to a few months ago, I got my first real controller, and while I’m more than satisfied with all aspects of the FLX-4, I do miss my 4-channel mixing quite a bit.
Lo and behold, after doing some quick research, the cheapest 4 channel controllers I can find are around $1000. I’ve seen some stuff at below the $500 mark, but it usually is at that price because it lacks compatibility with modern dj software like Serato and DJay Pro.
I guess my question here is a bit of what the heck? From my understanding, the controller itself is just that, a controller. It’s not doing the heavy lifting that the software itself is, so what justifies this bonkers pricetag. Is it the cost of making and shipping a 4-channel controller really that much higher than a standard 2 channel? Is it simply lack of competition? Thoughts would be appreciated
This is my (16M) first car! Definitely a bit nicer than the average Joe’s first, but I’m over the moon ecstatic and super thankful!
I’m going to be using this car as a commuter in order to get my sister (9F) to her new school, as well as myself to hockey academy.
The car has 127K miles on it, but everything on it that would have broken by now was replaced around 30K miles ago, so she should be good for a while. I should also add that I am very lucky to have an older brother who is a certified Mercedes/BMW mechanic, so god forbid anything goes wrong with the car, I can rely on some of his expertise.
The car was 8K from a VW dealership, but its financed at roughly 10% interest rate with a local credit union. I made sure my mom got gap insurance, since paying for a totaled car is generally not fun for anyone involved.
She’s got a NA V6, as well as some cool ass paddle shifters, and I estimate the 0-60 is around 5 seconds. (I took her on a deserted back road with my mom and did some tests with the car; braking, and a flat-out launch off the line).
Summer’s about to be a MOVIE
Edit: I should add that the idea behind buying the car was that mom would kill 3 birds with one stone.
1st, be able to get a 9-5 job once again, since she was unable to do so while having to drop off both me and my sisters at 3 separate schools (My stepdad is a lazy bum who is refusing to drive my youngest sister to her new school)
2nd, get me a reliable commuter car, since we live in a relatively suburban area, so the gas mileage isn’t the worst in the world
3rd, give me and my youngest sister a nice ride to school. Not to flaunt, but to be really comfortable.
I think half of the complaints with beat sync are that it doesn’t work properly sometimes, but I have a feeling that using your pre cueing to make sure a track sounds good before throwing it in would remedy this atleast a little (ie: if it sounds like shit, mix something else in?)
Genuinely some of the best music I’ve ever heard. If there ever were a real Justice x Daft Punk album, it would be this.
There’s an old proverb that states “Don’t attribute that to malice with what can be attributed to stupidity”. I hate to call my mom stupid, but at the very least, she doesn’t understand boundaries and why confidentiality is important.
Last year, I (16M, but 15 when this all started) began therapy with a LGBTQ+ and ADHD therapist after being kicked off a travel hockey team for coming out. I was suffering from depression that made it impossible for me to get any sort of meaningful schoolwork done, which especially screwed me over since my mom also refused to put me on my much-needed Adderall prescription. Also, my hockey academy relies on a homeschool service to school its student athletes, so all of this combined meant I was failing school miserably.
Right after I got kicked off my team, my mom brought me to my therapist for the first time, and over the last 6-7 months, the therapy has transformed my life for the better.
The only issue is that my mom won’t stop bringing people with me to my therapy sessions. They don’t go into the office, and aren’t involved in the sessions by any means, but it still pisses me off quite a bit that my mom doesn’t understand why I’m not fond of this.
For the first month or so of therapy, Mom understood I needed time and space, so she didn’t bring anyone along, and always made sure to spoil me afterwards at the local coffee shop and record store.
But after the first month, things started small, like having to bring my sister along with her to pick me up, which I can understand since she has 2 other kids. But unfortunately it has spiraled since then. She has routinely brought neighbors with us, and at one point it was the extended family of our neighbors. And not just to pick ups, but drop offs as well.
I think the issue boils down to mom not understanding why you don’t out gay people either, since she has unintentionally outed me to my Dad, Aunt, Uncle, and cousin at one point or another. She has also outed my sister (13F) as a lesbian to me, which while I’m not in any position to judge, still not ok. I think she views gayness as a matter of fact and not an emotionally charged thing that many people hide, for fear of being judged. I kind of find it supportive in an odd way, since she isn’t judging me or anyone else for that matter, but the lack of social awareness is a bit infuriating to say the least.
Am I overreacting or should I give up and accept that she’s going to tell the whole world I’m gay.
My opinion on Busy P has degraded a lot if we are being honest. I used to consider this guy a music god because of not just his legendary time with Daft Punk, but also the success afterwards with Justice.
It started to go downhill when he actively promoted the AI generated sitcom intro which featured Daft Punk, Justice, and a revived DJ Mehdi, which was incredibly disrespectful and disgusting. This is especially upsetting considering that the reason Daft Punk split was BECAUSE of AI.
What's also been a bit prick-ish is how he decided to cancel his DJ set in Katowice with almost 0 notice, while he was busy partying it up in Paris. Additionally, the recent cancellation of Justice's DJ set in NJ (Which I planned on attending) was due to a "Third Party Promoter" pulling the plug on the concert portion of the France vs. Senegal watch party. Would not be surprised at all if Busy P is the "Third-Party promoter" in question, but it sounds to me like whoever this "Third Party promoter" is, cancelled the show because of poor ticket sales. At least this one was done with like a weeks notice, but planning a last-minute trip to NYC from Florida was a total pain in the ass with the Knick's in the NBA finals, so having to cancel the trip was incredibly disappointing and a bit frustrating.
I understand that playing a concert in Newark with the Knicks in the Finals would be challenging logistically, but I entirely refuse to believe that the guy who managed Daft Punk's Alive 2007 tour is incapable of making it happen.
Anyways, even if the Justice cancellation wasn't his call, the rest of what's been going on lately is still really dissapointing. Anyone else have similar thoughts?
Surely someone else has come up with this before, but what if beer leagues had NHL style end-of-season trophies for individual players?
Here are some funny ideas, but feel free to drop your suggestions below.
- Lady Bong Trophy (Opposite of the Lady Byng) : Dirtiest player/biggest twat of the season (ie: Name and playfully shame the douchebag who plays 11PM Wednesday night games like Matthew Tkachuk) (Prize is a 3D printed middle finger shaped bong)
- Spirit Airlines Memorial Trophy: Player who has spent the least amount of money on gear this season. IF there is a tie breaker needed, the award shall go to the player who's budget gear smells the worst, since they definitely spent the least on their laundry detergent as well. (Prize is a Yellow Jofa Helmet from Temu/Ali Express with a Spirit Airlines sticker on the side)
- Jagr Bomb Trophy: The oldest player who managed to not be a complete pylon on the ice this season. (Prize is 1 free Jaeger Bomb at the rink bar).
- Connor McDangles trophy: The guy who took beer league wayyy too seriously this season, and tries to dangle like McDavid every night. (Prize is his jersey next season reading "McDANGLES" with the number 97)
- Tiger Woods Cup: The Player with the most DUIs in a single season. IF a tie-breaker is required, the result will depend on which player had their license suspended the longest. (Prize is a $50 Uber Gift Card)
-Corey Perry Trophy: The player who has tried to flirt with the most hockey moms in a single season. (Prize is a 3 month tinder premium gift card)
And last but not least, the Lino Rhino Award, which goes to the team with the greatest fan turnout of the season.
I could think of a million more trophies, but enough from me, I also want to hear Reddit's funniest ideas that they can come up with.

I’m SO bummed about this one. Been searching for a nice copy of this for SO LONG. Finally saw a copy on Discogs pop up as Mint / Sealed. Paid $65 in total with shipping just for the seller who somehow has a 99.8% to ship it in an envelope over seas. I’m quite sad right now…
My first thought was that it would have originated from a remix, but for whatever reason Justice didn’t remix any tracks from Woman, so that is a dead end
I (16M), began playing the new Forza Horizon game back in May, and I have quite a few questions about the IRL driving culture in Japan.
I’d like to forewarn everyone that my perspective on driving in general is a bit warped considering that I got my learners permit at 16, and will be getting my full license in August. I also drive in Florida, and by extension the US, with my perspective in all of this mainly shaped by the driving culture of my country.
Also, I obviously understand why Forza Horizon is unrealistic. It’s a video game.
First of all, apparently the minimum age for Japan is 18? Again, American perspective, but how popular/unpopular is this in Japan? Is it entirely uncommon for teenagers to illegally drive underage?
Second, why do the roads remain so small? Have there been attempts by the government to improve infrastructure and make roads wider? I feel like this would allow a much larger margin of error considering how many elderly drivers there seem to be in Japan. Also, it would presumably be a welcome change among everyone else that drive vehicles other than a Peel P50.
Third, why are the speed limits so slow? How have Japanese drivers not gone crazy being forced to go 50 MPH on the highway? Here in FL, anything below 65 is considered rude even in the slow lane.
Finally, how can anyone afford to drive in Japan with how crazy expensive it is to drive? Especially in cities where you have to pay for a parking spot in order to own a vehicle.
