Is anyone else like 5x better in league play than at home?

I know im a bit more locked in, but like, the difference is crazy.

I just popped into the local for a pint but there’s a lad who’s trying to get a night off and thankfully I had my darts with me so we played a league match. Had a 107 checkout with what would have probably been an 85-90 average, think I finished in around 18 darts? I’d be very hard pressed to do that playing by myself at home, maybe every now and then, but in league play my average genuinely jumps up by 10+.

I do love the competition, and honestly if my finishing was better id be flying in this league and I’ve only been playing 4 months. I’ve still won a few matches but I’m more than happy given this is my first ever league.

Is anyone else the same? I thought it’d be the other way around, but something about actually playing seems to really bring out the best in me.

Edit: Chalk off another win! Four pints deep I take a 2-1 win! 😂

How are you meant to break teams down?

I just don’t understand it? The defenders are absolutely glued to my players no matter what I do with sliders, every through ball gets intercepted, none of my through balls go where I want them to, players are closed down so fast while none of the AI players are making runs (even with the slider shot away up), you get the ball into the box and it’s impossible to get a shot away because there’s 8 defenders in the box and any shots just clatter off defenders legs

How do you guys have fun? I actually don’t get it. It feels like a genuine pain to play. I play on Legendary because I’ve been playing fifa games for 25 years now, but I’ve not touched the EA FC because every time I have they’ve been complete and utter shit. Was excited to try the new one on PS+ but like, what the fuck?

I’ve messed around with sliders so much, the AI can’t score against me and I cantscore against the AI. It’s just a 0-0 simulator.

Where does the notion that ‘Come and See’ is this super disturbing, fucked up film come from?

The movie is essentially two hours of a weird little kid running around making funny faces, getting up to war related hijinks with this strange girl, legging it through mud, just generally being a little tit.

There’s 20 minutes of violence in the entire movie, and ALL of it takes place off screen. We don’t actually see any of what the Nazis do, it’s just the sound. Sure, the premise of what they’re doing is fucked up, but we don’t actually see any of it.

The only truly disturbing part of the movie is when live animals are genuinely shot to death, which is hardly good film making, just some dickhead director who’s too cheap to use special effects so they shot a real cow to death. Is a cow being snuffed good film making or is it just shocking because it’s real.

I think the movie is genuinely AWFUL, but if you enjoyed it for what it is then absolutely fair play and I don’t disparage anyone for that because ultimately it’s all subjective, but every time a thread about disturbing movies comes up this will be near the top. Why? What am I missing here?

Thought yous would like my signed Denis Law Scotland top

My uncle was a professional footballer and was pals with Denis, had this on my wall for 15 odd years now never really thought to show anyone. But a fun piece of memorabilia!

The piece in the corner is a programme from when Scotland beat England immediately after England won the World Cup.

Started playing four months ago, joined my first league and absolutely loving it

Highly recommend it for everyone, I will admit I’ve fucking grinded it out the last few months with work from home and have an average of around 60 so im more than competitive (Won 2 games so far, but every leg is a point and I’ve won like 6 so far).

It’s a fucking double in for this edition of the league though so the first night I was STRUGGLING. Had no idea, and it’s a new thing for this edition of the league (It’s actually very good though).

Actually started making this post, got called to play, beat the landlord who’s probably been throwing darts longer than I’ve been alive. I’m fairly buzzing at the moment 🤣

If you’re thinking of joining a league, do it!!! It’s unbelievably chill, everyone’s sound out. Get on it lads.

Edit: Won 3 of 9 games so far. First time ever playing league darts, I just want to share because none of my mates play darts so im buzzing hahahhahahah

I will say though, the standard in here is very good. Had multiple 180’s thrown against me but yet to throw one yet
