Will I get shit wearing a Jets jersey to Gillette?

Just for some context, I’m Irish and a Jets fan nearly 20 years now. I’ve never seen the Jets play (For better or for worse 😂) but I turn 30 the weekend the Jets are on the road to the Pats, but I’m more than likely going to be spending my 30th having the craic in Boston.

With that said, I fucking hate the New England Patriots, as any self respecting Jets fan should, and I would love to be repping the Jets when we inevitably lose in some kind of heartbreaking fashion.

Will there be any actual shit beyond good natured ribbing? I know there are certain teams where wearing road jerseys can be a bit dodgy, but my only experience with the NFL is seeing the Lions at home to the Chiefs in 2019 and there were plenty of Chiefs jerseys and everyone was having a laugh.

Anyone know when they’re going to schedule week 2/3 of the super league?

We’re 11 days away from the second week of games and there’s still no dates or times? Does anyone know when they usually schedule them?

I’m trying to make plans around seeing games but I’ve never seen a league leave scheduling so unbelievably late 🤣

Do you guys remember how hyped we were for CFB 25?

Was going through the top posts on the subreddit, and it’s such a happy nostalgia crawl (I also somehow have like the 10th most upvoted post on this subreddit which I didn’t realise lol). I remember working in a job I hated, but watching all of the gameplay trailers come out live, being hype as fuck.

I live in Ireland and I had friends that don’t give a single fuck about football hype about the launch. I don’t think I’ve ever been as excited for a single game in my life as I was for cfb 25 and it’s been the only game I’ve preordered the last two years since.

I will admit, I’ve barely touched this years game relevant to the last few years, but I’ll get there. I’m just waiting for the moment to strike and I’ll get addicted again.

But that hype in spring/summer 24 was insane, and to be honest I played the absolutely fuck out of CFB 25. I was so happy with it, played every single down in my dynasty, offense and defense, it was unbelievable.

Do you think it lived up to the hype? I love these games, but they could be better, but I’m still so happy they’re back.

‘Leicester City’s league campaign starts off with a bang’

I’m just absolutely not having this. A team that won the Premier League 10 years ago taking 60 minutes to score against a team just promoted from League Two does not constitute ‘Starting off with a bang’.

Yes, the the goal was decent, but I audibly said out loud ‘that’s not starting off with a bang’.

Not having it, starting off with a bang is a goal in the first 10 minutes.

How would you feel if you knew the person on the other end of the line was only wearing underwear?

I workout on my lunch break sometimes and when it’s hot I’ll just sit and work in my underwear, answering calls. I’m shirtless right now working as I type this.

I mean, you’d obviously never know that im doing this so like it doesn’t really make any sort of difference, but if you heard that how would you feel about it?

Purely for jokes, although I do work shirtless like 80% of the time. I work in a box room with my PlayStation going on my second monitor so it can get warm as fuck in here.

I should be clear too, despite this being something I do actually do, I am shitposting mostly lol

People on console only, what do you think?

I had to refund it this morning, it’s pretty much impossible for me to distinguish what im looking at any sort of distance because of how blurry everything is and how glitchy all the foliage is. And before any starts, yes obviously it’s Vietnam, it’s not about being able to see everything, but I just had such an unbelievably frustrating time last night playing it I just couldn’t keep it going. I’m fully down to give it a go again once they fix the graphical issues, but for right now it’s a no from me.

Not to mention, there’s just something about the game that feels shallow and empty, idk. It doesn’t feel as grand or as immersive as the first game, it just feels like run from point A to point B, die to someone in the bushes, or kill someone in the bushes, respawn, do the same thing again for an hour and that’s the game. Where as HLL felt like this epic fuck off battle.

I also maybe think this game but just not be for me, which is fine, and I wouldn’t make that an actual reflection of the game itself, but i genuinely just didn’t have fun playing it even when I was in less leafy areas. But we’ll see if they ever fix the graphics.

If you wanna come in this thread to just shout about how one side is wrong and how your opinion is actually the only correct one, kindly fuck off before you start typing your comment.

Did you like Rooster?

I’m on the second to last episode right now, I feel like it started so strong, a nice, charming comedy with Steve Carrell and John C. McGinley? Sounds good!

But the more I watch it the less I like it. It feels like it becomes entirely self contained and the more it goes on the more it becomes absurd. No one is really likable in it (Mo especially can fuck off), the writing is pretty fucking awful and the characters are just inconsistent.

I do love Steve Carrell though and he’s fun as always, seeing Phil Dunster for the first time since Ted Lasso in quite literally a polar opposite role is good fun and he does a job and John C. McGinley is just as funny as ever. But some of the supporting cast is really, really poor.

I really don’t know what I think about it? It seems incredibly middle of the road, but im really curious as to what people thought about it? The mother/son ‘twist’ really lost me and felt just so forced it really took me out of it. But im curious as to hear both sides of what people think.

Can someone explain the logic of scheduling Saturday 3pm kick offs before the Premier League starts?

Surely any eyes on the league is a good thing? I understand they aren’t exactly marquee matchups, but the gap between the Prem starting and the SPFL starting should see every single game being shown live.

I’m saying this mostly as an annoyed St Mirren fan, although I’m pretty sure I can just stick a VPN on tomorrow and watch the game (I think it’s free? It says no PPV on the website so assuming so), but I still find it absurd that they schedule the games not only against the EFL Cup, but at 3pm where they can’t be watched. People all over the UK and Ireland are dying for competitive league football and will tune in, I watched every game last weekend, and it’ll probably be the only time all season im afforded that opportunity.

Just a bit of a rant! I find it baffling and don’t quite understand the logic behind locking fans out of matches at a time where there’s practically no other decent football on (Refuse to believe any self-respecting football fan that doesn’t support one of the teams involved gives a fuck about the first round of the EFL cup).

Anyone else pretty much only playing this and not BO2?

Never ever understood the hype for BO2, I went to the midnight launch and ended up hating it. Probably bottom 3 COD’s ever for me. Whilst BO1 and MW3 are my Top 2. Absolutely love this game, regret buying BO2 tbh, thought id enjoy it this time around but nope.

Edit: I said ‘BOTTOM 3 FOR ME’. Reading comprehension in this community is fucking abysmal. I didn’t like it, stop getting offended for a video game you fucking dweebs.

Is Eddie Marsden’s accent in ‘The Bombing of Pan Am 103’ some sort of sick joke that I’m not in on?

I mean it’s genuinely the single worst accent I’ve ever heard in a show or movie in my entire life. It sounds like someone trying to do a bad southern accent on purpose. Like you’re not trying to do a southern accent whilst not being very good at it, you’re actively trying to do a stupid voice. It sounds like he’s talking slowly to make fun of southern Americans intelligence.

The writing and acting as a whole is pretty fucking awful, but every time Eddie Marsen comes on my screen I want to throw my remote through the TV to make him shut up.

Edit: Spelled his name wrong. Least he deserves in my mind.

I’ve no idea why I continued watching this. I’m a sucker for the genre, but this is fairly fucking awful.

Anyone else?

What would the Regulation Clan Tag be?

A constant scourge of mine is figuring out what to make my clan tag in games, and with the rerelease of Black Ops & Black Ops 2 I’ve been thinking about what a Regulation clan tag would be like?

Assuming that’s its four letters as most are, what are we thinking? How could we spot other comment leavers in the wild? (I assume making your clan tag regulation themed would essentially promote you to comment leaver, but that’s another argument for another day)

‘RATY’ is one in my mind. You could go for a more on the nose ‘REGU’ or something.

What are we thinking? My brains gone absolutely blank!
