How did they get away with speeding so much during races?

Presumably for instances such as Jeremy in the SLR or the Bugatti he would have had to go faster than the speed limit for the car to actually make a difference from a regular car, as in why use those cars which are built for higher speeds if you can’t go faster than what you could in a golf. So how did they get away with speeding so much? Was it just a lack of cameras compared to now?

How to prevent excess noise like this in a fender mustang LT25

Whenever I play there’s this ringing that happens that really messes up the sound when I’m trying to play a song, is this my guitar’s fault? Like a problem with the pickup or amp cable? Is the problem the amp? I’m playing this on the thrash overkill preset with max gain, but even when I turn the gain down there’s still that ringing sound
