Most Christians are VERY judgmental when you say you haven’t been to or aren’t going to church. Why is this? So many of them seek the truth from churches rather than the bible. When a pastor says something it is taken as truth rather than discovering what interpretation they themselves can make from the passage read.
Most Christians(GLOBALLY) haven’t not read the bible from to back to understand and come up with their own decision to or to not follow this religion. Many accept the preachings of the head of their local church as if it isn’t true that the word of God is pure and perfect however the ears of his followers are imperfect and tainted. If the ears themselves are imperfect who is to say what is said is not imperfect as well? If not more?
Many Christians cherry pick verses in the bible to justify their own hatred and discrimination towards certain groups. Most prominently the LGBTQI+ community. The bible states that man is for woman in the Old Testament. However by the teachings of CHRIST you should love your neighbour despite differences between one another. Where does it say to condemn others for their sins? Rather it says who is to judge is God. In the eyes of His there is no sin that is greater than another except for the denial of Christ as God. We all continually sin in our lives, a white lie is still a sin, if we repeat sins ourselves who are we to condemn others who repeat their sins. Whoever has no sins shall be the first to cast the stone.
As christians the New Testament is the most important part of the bible as this is where the teachings of Christ are given and the rules in which we should follow. Christina only focus on the teachings of the Old Testament to judge others but who here does mixes fabrics? Then you shall be killed.
Modern day Christianity is overly focused on judgement and condemnation rather than the core of the religion which is love
Have no one to talk about this with, read the book about 2-3 years ago.
A lot of fat people normally struggle with an ED or comfort eating (forgot the actual term, like being in a state of sadness and eating to appease that feeling). Most fat shaming leads to greater weight gain.
Rather than fat shaming approaching people with kindness and empathy is required. Plus you never know what people are going through. What if they just started healing from an ED? What if they have a condition that makes it harder to control their weight? What if they have hormone imbalances that cause an increase in weight? To view all fat people as if they’re overweight by choice is strange and is not the majority case.
Also dieting and exercising are not a magical fix. What if someone is in the process of losing weight?
We all need to navigate the world with more compassion and consideration of others experiences, known or unknown.
This is largely the governments fault however the Ghanaian men who keep shitting and pissing on the side of the streets and other Ghanaians who throw their trash into the gutters need to stop this nonsense. It’s disgusting and these are the effects. No one will clean up your mess for you, as we’ve clearly seen all of your waste has resurfaced and hit you in your face.
If so in what ways?
In my head race is in regards to skin colour and can we truly say that people who direct their hate towards white people hate white skin? It’s just not plausible to me as every other skin colour has be so demonised but now apparently in the last 10 years racism to white people is a thing but I’ve never heard and example of it.
If someone is directing their hate towards white people is it really because of the colour of their skin or is it a retaliation to the history with being white holds?
Specifically for the Subsaharan countries that aren’t Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, Kenya and Uganda. It homologises the continent and people whilst that is not the case.
I know this happens to Europe as well or West Asia but for Europe it atleast can be explained that traveling between EU countries is easy and really you can travel most of Europe in one trip but West Asia and Africa are inexcusable.
I feel as if you’re going to travel to a new country you should atleast be able to point it out on a map and if someone wee to ask where that is you should be able to explain a bit to convey that Africa is not a county and it’s not all the same everywhere. By saying that you went to Africa you’re perpetuating the idea that it doesn’t even deserve to be considered as different countries either their own mix of people.
It’s annoying to hear “I went to/ going to Africa” like it’s a whole country you get one visa for. I think there’s a lack of care and willingness to even understand the countries of Africa and thus every place is a war zone, dirty and filled with poverty.
East Africa is MUCH more different that West Africa and since most Westerners have reached West Africa (atleast that’s what it feels like) because of this homologous perspective it’s assumed the rest of the continent is the same. Tanzania is not Ghana. Somalia isn’t Sudan and Lesotho is not South Africa.
I’m visiting from East Africa and I want to hear Ghanaian perspectives cause I have thoughts.
I hate the whole “my hair is so hard to take care of,” “it’s just so hard and difficult to manage my hair.” Let me just say that it can be hard when the products that are being advertised, that are cheaper and more available are not catered to your hair. This is so understandable and it’s very valid cause yes of course shampoo made for straight hair isn’t going to help you and since the world is catered to people without curls it makes it harder. But you should also ask yourself what did our ancestors pre-colonialism do? It couldn’t have been that hard if there are such a variety of hairstyles from ancient African nations.
Rather than continue to preach “black hair is hard to handle” be more aware of what makes it harder. Is it your hair or is is the you and products and methods we are taught? What’s wrong with these practices? How can I improve? It’s not Kay to confuse spewing this bs and it’s propagating this idea of difficulty associated with black ppl but most prominently black women.
Edit: I’m black from and African country with medium-short hair, had been natural with really long hair before.
Edit 2: Majority of yall did not read a sentence past the title. Insane that putting out a different perspective results in whatever this shit storm is. Yall continue propagating that idea let’s see how far it gets you.
Comment: I'm not acting that way. I feel like African hair care has been overcomplicated to slap a price tag on products that are not necessary cause like I said, what were our ancestors doing?? They definitely didn't have any shea moisture or aunty Jackie's, and it's evident in the hair styles that have been preserved today. It's not difficult, haircare just isn't catered to us allowing this propagation of "it's difficult." When it's not.
Underwear and a shirt work perfectly fine, if it’s colder, sweatpants and sweaters. For there to be a whole other set of clothes just to sleep and sweat in is absurd to me. Lounge wear can be sleep wear, normal clothes can be used to sleep in (shirt and shorts for example).
🥲🤓🥸
I miss the old webtoon, 2020-2024 🥲. It feels like they're putting more NSFW manhwas onto the site just for money and then they censor out the spicy scenes, like if you're going to add them stand on it.
It's crazy cause I only found out cause I was reading Childhood Friend Complex and my Korean friend was like "What are you reading?? 👀" I was so embarrassed when I got to the first SCENE (yk).
My hair used to be so thick and beautiful and healthy and then grad came around (Highschool) and then like clockwork I was forced to get braids (that I’ve communicated multiple times to my mom that they destroy my hair). I’m just so mad I want to cry I know what to do to fix it but it’s just horrible, just one of the ways she’s abusive.
Advice to stop this cycle of abuse? (Not leaving home h til next year cause of when uni starts :(. )
I accepted admissions into a uni in Canada but I'm thinking of transferring because of a scholarship guarantee I have for the US.
So I have an idea of what I want:
Here's what I know I don't want
Also some additives that aren't needed but would be nice
