Rise of Ronin is extremely flawed, but I am enjoying it. If I explained all the flaws, it would sound like I hated it and should put it down, but...here we are.

More than anything, the weapon and combat variability and the combat mechanics are keeping me engaged. The resource management is too much, the dialogue is often insane and weird, the graphics are not acceptable for a modern game, etc etc.

I'm a sucker for flying/gliding, though. And finding cats. And, like I said, the general combat is good and scales appropriately as you progress in the game. At least so far. It's in the sweet spot where it's challenging without being overly frustrating. If you aren't in the flow, you can get walloped. If you are, you can put together a really satisfying fight.

Should it jump to the top of your list? I guess it depends on what's on your list. Probably not. I could also see a younger kid just getting into more violent games really locking in.

Google Store discount for Fi customers seems to be the best deal.

EDIT: This is no longer true. Google Store was matching the $550 off at Fi when I posted this. It just changed to $450 without explanation.

Fi store now seems to offer the lowest purchase price.

Beef and dairy production accounts for 41% of biodiversity damage caused by world's farmland. Half of all carbon loss comes from just 12% of farmland. Animal-sourced foods linked to 8x more carbon loss and 14x more biodiversity loss per calorie than plant-sourced foods.

Meet the family.

Fire away with questions about any you are curious about. I walk a lot, prefer wider shoes, prefer sandals. But, I recommend everything here with caveats for each. Haven't had the shoes long enough to know if they'll hold up to serious use.

I essentially can't self trigger, except one thing: Glugging bottles when I'm drinking.

The second it happens, I want to throw the bottle against the wall and scream.

Brady's take on the Brewers and Skubal is garbage.

Inexcusable take. We don't know if the Brewers weren't in the mix as described, first of all.

Second, just flippantly saying you go all in one year even if it means screwing up the next several years is just nonsense. It's certainly a take, but it's a terrible take.

85 hours into Forbidden West and I'm not done yet.

I take my time in games. I explore. I don't fast travel often. I even prefer to stay on foot as much as possible. I watch all cut scenes.

I have done VERY LITTLE aimless wandering, and I have also never once felt like this game was a slog...outside of a debatable position that there are too many dialogue scenes and that could be tightened up.

I certainly spent more time being a completionist in RDR2. By a lot. But, this is a very close second for me in longest and best gaming experience. It's just a fun world to be in.

It seems like the mainstream has decided to ignore Willow, and I think this is largely an error.

The Thread is a musically dense, emotionally affecting album. It's a good ride. She's got talent, and she works with a good bunch of collaborators.
