Got Lucky in a Storm Yesterday
We got terribly lucky in a storm yesterday. Two major trees broke in 70 mph winds. They dropped onto a fence but missed our house, the neighbors house, and power lines. Yes, we are fortunate it's only this bad

I got a nice award today. Guess I'm doing something right!
Men of Reddit,
Do you like clingy women? Personally, I do to a point. I like frequent touching around the house. Holding hands when out and about, her holding my arm as we are walking, slight PDA. Basically the "He's with me and I like it" vibe.
I also like frequent verbal statements of her feelings.
I like my space too though. She doesn't need to be involved in everything I do. And I like her too have some space for her personal interests as well.
What are your feelings on the subject?
I've received one award, but it was erased because it was in a post that was taken down by a moderator for some reason (I was not the OP)
I'm looking forward to watching you all grow your lists. If mine come, they come. If not, if not, that's ok as well.
So I did the party ribs method last night. I used a St Louis cut rack. 250 for 2.5 his then mixed with sauce and butter in a pan and covered. Let that go for 30 minutes. Took the lid off the pan and let it go another 30 minutes.
Overall there was too much bark and the ribs were very dry because of it. I was not overly impressed and not sure I want to do it that way again.
My 321 ribs always turn out very well. I'm going to do a hotter and faster method without a wrap but using a whole rack next try.
Sorry, no pics. They didn't deserve it
Anybody else not like the way party ribs turned out? The only advantage I saw was timing. Certainly not in taste or texture.
So my wife has her Prime membership. I'm part of her family group and enjoy the benefits of that membership.
However, Prime keeps asking me to sign up for my own membership. Is their any practical reason to do that?
I've been collecting for a while. Here is my current collection. A couple of the Citizens need to go for repair. I also have a G-Shock I use for daily wear.
What would you get next? I'm looking at Orient and Seiko. I really like day-date combos.
Hey all. What is you preference, working remotely, working in an office, it a hybrid?
Personally, I'm a big fan of hybrid. Call me old school, but my employer being able to put a face to a name is important to me. It's really easy to get rid of a faceless employee imo. I'm my work field, there are also some things that simply cannot be done remotely. You have to be there to do it. I also like the interaction with real people f2f. It's far too easy for the written word to be misinterpreted. Especially in informal chats and texts. Zoom meeting help somewhat in this regard, but not totally IMO.
That said, working partly remote has distinct advantages for my work life balance. Not commuting saves me money and gives me more free time. Time I get to spend with my family and doing things I love.
My perfect work week would be 2 ten hour days a week on site and 3 8 to 10 hours said remotely.
Which do you prefer and why?
How many of you have different diapers for different seasons. I like the plastic shell ones but they are a bit warm....
Hey affordablele watch lovers,
In your opinion, is there a DECENT watch with a day-date function for under $100? Analog preferred.
5 days without a smoke. Used Chantix for a month before I quit and I'm still on it for another 3 weeks. So far, so good.
So I found out InControl provides 3 free pairs of samples. Free as in no shipping cost either. I just ordered a two pack of all three of their tabbed styles. I'll report on each one after I test them out.
Pretty hard to beat completely free for testing. If you haven't tried them, maybe consider giving them a shot
Hey all,
I don't wear my automatic watches much. Should I care if they go dormant? I've seen battery operated winding watch cases. Anybody used them or have another solution to keep them energized?
What annoys you the most about how things are today vs when we were in our "prime"? Let's keep politics out of this l please.
I'll go first. These smart phones we have nowadays have taken hold of the world psychie. People are absolutely lost without them. They have no idea how to live without them. To me, that's a damn shame because we have lost the f2f interaction that helps relationships in so many ways.
Hello all, I'm looking to get started in making cheese. I'm a long time cheese lover and an looking forward to possibly making it for myself.
Any tips on what the best way to get started would be appreciated.
I'm a cheese fanatic. I'd love to get into making it.
What hardware, supplies, documentation, and storage areas would I realistically need?
What cheese would you start with?
What's You Go To Diaper?
What is you go to diaper? Do you have different styles for different situations?
Personally, when I'm going to be out a long time and absolutely have to ensure protection I use a NorthShore MegaMax. The original Chinese version.
For slightly shorter duration I will use a Foresite mid range product like the MaryJane or a NorthShore Airlock.
And for times when I'll only need a few hours I use the Foresite Stripes.
The Forsite products are undergoing a product change at the moment. Several stores don't have them as they are getting rid of the stock of the current models.
It's my understanding that they will be adjusting both the Stars and Stripes versions to be the same as higher capacity of the Mary Jane and Under the Sea models. I look forward to trying those, but I'm asking the upgrade in capacity so also come with a higher price.
I find the Forsite products fit me very well. Almost as good as the MegaMax but at a lower price point.
All of these can be enhanced by a good booster. My preference there is the NorthShore EternaDry.
I also don't mind mixing up colors as well to break the monotony.
For those who self diaper, do you use the stand up or lay down method? Top tapes or bottom tapes first?
I'd especially be interested to hear from folks who go under a belly as that's my body type. Going over the top of my belly is useless because it just slips down anyway.
I'm a daytime diaper wearer as I don't have a problem at night.
My partner normally helps, but I need to know how to do it for trips and changes when they are not around
I am one of the lucky ones I guess in that I'm one of those people where my spouse helps. She helps me get them on, but I take them off and clean up.
Still, that time together is special. Very intimate.
Anybody else as lucky as I am?
