Specs knee is swollen so I gave it a cold hose but since he seemed so chill I gave him a quick rinse all over, he was fine until I gave his butt a rinse and that’s when he decided to go into his stable. He’s now staring over the wall with a death stare.

Spec has rediscovered his love for flowers and has been munching on my mothers very not horse edible flowers, after blocking those off he has gone to the lawn because it’s the only sensible option. He knows he’s not meant to be eating the garden but he’s smart and has figured out he can’t be caught if we aren’t looking. We have also discovered he adores blue grass so we are currently trying to hide it from him with a chair. The garden has been going through a rough summer between Spec and the dogs digging, rescues are great until they’re a little messed in the head and stress dig up expensive flowers.

Hi! I’m turning 18 in a few months and have a few ideas for some tattoos. My grandmother has dementia and her health is declining so I really want my first to be related to her. Are these little stars where her fingers land be a bad idea? I think it’s a lovely idea but would they need constant retouching? If they are a shit idea I might opt for them on my back instead and just have one side for each granny. This reference is from @uprootedtattooing on insta to get my point across better :) Any other ideas would be nice, I like the idea of my close ones drawing hearts or something and getting those tattooed but she wouldn’t be able to draw one unfortunately, I probably will do it with my parents and other two grandparents though.

Spec seems to be the only one enjoying the heat…the humans and the dogs are dying! That’s a lie, one dog is enjoying it because the soil is extra diggable. Not sure how that tiny little black dog hasn’t gotten heat stroke! Spec’s in his favourite field in the world but unfortunately he only gets a day and a half. The bales were only collected yesterday morning and they’re spreading slurry tomorrow. He would’ve gotten an extra two days if he didn’t prove himself a menace and rip open every single bale last year to sample them all.

Maybe not the most appetising but I love buying pre-made pizza bases and dressing them up. Lidl do a nice two packs of sourdough bases with minimal ingredients. Olive tapenade is super good as a base under your pizza sauce too!

Apologies for the long video, it’s hot and I’m too lazy to mess about with it. Crazy to think we’ve only had this guy for two years, it’s felt like way more! He came into my life during a pretty rough part and I’m not sure what would be if it wasn’t for him giving me a reason and responsibility. Unfortunately I think he’s been showing his age recently and not to get too depressing but I’m not sure if it’s the beginning of the end. As awful as this app sometimes can be I really appreciate everyone who follows Spec and his journey, it makes me so happy to see him recognised on other subreddits or even Tiktok! I think one day I’ll be really grateful I’ve documented so much of his everyday life, even the mundane bits. Some might say I’m living through a screen but I’d rather have the memories than not. Again, thanks to the few who follows Spec and have helped me a lot. Having an elderly horse threw me in at the deep end in some ways especially given my family don’t view horses the same way I do if that makes sense. He’s truly loved by everyone but I think they’ve different ideas of how he should live given their dairy background. His situation isn’t perfect but I think he copes with it pretty damn well, he definitely was happy to see the donkeys leave earlier! Cheers to another year of this little shit and hopefully we can squeeze some more out of him!

Thought I’d treat Spec to a little wander around the garden even though he didn’t get past the washing line before spooking but he loved it anyways. On the way back we were going through a narrow gap and because he was so eager to go home after a day in the field he got my foot. It’s only a pinky toe so nothing can be done but ouch! Not to be dramatic but I was hopping like a flamingo trying to get in the front door since I’m home alone. Not sure if it’s broken or sprained but damn it hurts and is bruising like a mother fucker! Not a good past few days considering I sliced my leg the other day going out to Spec and then fell off riding which resulted in a massive black bruise. Okay sob story over, I’ll get back to feeling sorry for myself and probable lack of lesson this week as I’m a wimp.
