I realized I see Thomas Müller and Holy Mary more than my own parents here in Bavaria. I therefore have started adding them into my family portraits.
Any idea why there’s a handcuffed man with a plastic bag over his head in Erfurt?

Four years of friendship with my Lexi
This is Lexi. Lexi is an unknown mix dog; she was adopted from a shelter that had rescued her from the streets. She may be pit or she may not be. But for four years, she’s been my buddy.
I met Lexi in July 2022 when I came to Germany on a student exchange. She, and her family (who hosted me) welcomed me with open arms. As soon as Lexi met me, she sprung into my arms and nearly knocked me off my feet. I spent the next two weeks with her as my constant companion. She was my shadow. She was down for walking or cuddling or napping or play-fighting. She made me feel at home.
I returned in March 2023 to visit my host family. They didn’t even manage ro get the door open before Lexi shoved past them and barreled into my arms. She would not let go of me the entire time I was there. I was quite sad to leave.
Three and a half years passed before I could return. I wasn’t even sure if Lexi would still be alive. But as I entered the house, Lexi came trotting over. She sniffed my hands, then my legs, then my feet…and then just pressed herself into my hands. And there she stayed.
Lexi is 9 now. She doesn’t have the strength to run or really jump as she once did. She was just diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in her tail. She may not have long left to live. But while she is here, I know she will be my friend. And I will be hers.
Thrilled to meet a cat overseas. Cat was not so thrilled.
I went sightseeing in the mountains. Best sight was in the train station.
Stopped recording so I could call police and also because I was scared of being attacked myself by the aggressor (I’m a girl and much younger and shorter than him; I wouldn’t stand a chance). But the fight didn’t end pretty. Younger man (aggressor) had his shirt torn to literal shreds and fled before cops came. Old man lost a tooth, half of his lip and got a concussion.

p.dw.comCould these remains belong to Daniel Robinson?
Daniel Robinson III was born in 1997 and was 24 years old when he disappeared from Buckeye, Arizona. He was last seen by a coworker who Robinson had only just met, driving in a Jeep Renegade heading west toward the desert. Robinson’s car would later be found rolled over onto its side on private property, with many of Daniel’s belongings still inside. Evidence indicated that whoever had been driving had been wearing their seatbelt at the time of the crash. No trace of Daniel was ever found.
In April 2026, a human cranium was found in the desert near Tonopah, Arizona, which is about 26 miles west of Buckeye. Only the skull was found. Investigators believe the skull belongs to a Caucasian/African man, aged somewhere between 20-50 upon time of death, who had been deceased 2 years. No further details were available.
But I think many details line up. Both Daniel and the decadent are Black men, and Daniel was 24 when he disappeared, which fits into the estimated 20-50 age range for the Doe. 26 miles isn’t a terrible distance, especially if Daniel met foul play…and he had last been seen heading west, and Tonopah is west of Buckeye.
What do you think?

Could someone remove the shadows or at least improve the lighting a bit? Thanks!
Japan soccer player Kaishu Sano, who scored Japan’s goal, was arrested for alleged sexual assault in 2024.
According to Japanese media reports, Sano and two friends gang-raped a woman at a hotel in Tokyo on July 14, 2024. The victim contacted the police immediately after the incident, leading to the on-the-spot arrest of Sano and his accomplices.
During interrogation, Sano reportedly pleaded not guilty to the gang assault. However, his legal team reached a settlement with the victim through substantial private compensation, prompting the Tokyo District Public Prosecutors’ Office to drop the charges. He was released on July 29.
On 5 June 2025, he was selected for the Japan national team for the third round of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Asian qualifiers, scheduled to be held on 10 June, marking his return to the squad. At a press conference, head coach Hajime Moriyasu stated, "I have been observing him all along, and after personally reaching out to him, I strongly felt that he is truly remorseful." He continued, "When we consider each team member as part of a family, I asked myself—as a coach facing an individual player—whether we should simply cast someone out of society or the football world for making a mistake. I decided it would be better, as a family, to give him a path to try again.”
Sano released a statement that said, "I offer my sincere apology to the victim for my actions that caused great trouble. I take the consequences of my action seriously and will strive to restore trust."

I think the first two words are excess of, but I can’t see what the remainder is.
