I will add a new rule allowing non-OC photography on r/StreetCatsOfTheWorld. That's why
My very first thought was about making r/StreetCatsOfTheWorld a worldwide club for people who enjoy meeting random kitties on the streets. Allowing "images from the Internet" would contradict the concept of uniting street cat content creators.
Why #1
What I initially missed was the research side. r/StreetCatsOfTheWorld is actually a catalog of cat images, with geographical data included, and it has research value for photography lovers and even cat gene specialists. From this point of view, leaving non-original content outside the subreddit would be limiting. Like, qualitative street cat photography from Sudan or Bhutan is super interesting. Without adding non-OC content, r/StreetCatsOfTheWorld will never see photography from these countries because there are too few Redditors from there.
Why #2
I also think about the visibility of r/StreetCatsOfTheWorld. Taking images of street cats takes more effort, and fewer Redditors photograph cats on the streets. Meanwhile, some subreddits (like catsistanbul) post AI stuff, irrelevant viral posts (like elephants in a cat sub), and stolen content, and gain huge visibility.
Doing the same would hurt the reputation of r/StreetCatsOfTheWorld, but adding non-original cat photography valuable from the point of aesthetics, cat genetics, and cat geography would help to get extra views and reach more like-minded people.

Look at these colors! Amazing blue eyes + colorpoint but her colorpoint paws are hidden by white. A kitty I met in the alleys but, obviously, she's an owned pet enjoying the outdoors [OC] Bangkok, Thailand
