Bro’s about to COOK

The pressure must be enormous for him, but so far I’ve only seen/heard him go strength to strength. I think he’s fully aware of the responsibility and is going to pull out all the stops. Dude’s six solo albums in and still plays with the energy and passion of someone just starting out. I can’t wait for what he’ll bring to the new record

The Mastodon/Jack Johnson beef was never squashed

Any hopes of a Mastodon tour with Jack Johnson were dashed away on this day (Sep 12, 2008) at Bonnaroo. Thank you Aziz Ansari for calling such frankly atrocious behaviour out

In this life we must FIGHT…for the ones we love (made it myself)

He will not go quietly into that good night.

Tools: Photoshop, HTVRONT heat press, slight mental abnormality

(also to show I’m a real person/idiot who makes these one-offs for my own amusement here’s my ‘Legacy of Frasier Kain’ crossover)

Edit: thanks for the award, u/Soggy-Assist3936! Cosmo Kenny LIVES

▲ 689 r/Gundam

I’ve searched for almost 30 years for this.

I grew up in Italy in the 90s, where I watched ‘that space robot suit show’ and Action Man on satellite TV. For the longest time I had a huge problem with actually knowing what I was watching because over the years I had forgotten. All I remembered was that there were these sleek suits that would detach from a transport of some kind out in outer space and the animations were so gorgeous and ever since I just remember only ever coming across like really chunky leg mechas, and for some reason something got sent to me just recently where I am now 99% if not 100% sure that the anime I was watching was Gundam Wing. Could it be any other? It had to be Gundam Wing!

I’m devastated and can’t cope with his loss.

The 30 Disney Classics (1937-1999) for an In Review series would be so good

Everything from Snow White to Tarzan. Obviously we’d have RaguBagu but it would be cool to rank the Princesses by level of awesomeness (and a fun throwback to Tim and the early days of the podcast XD) too, and I’d love them to compare music and art styles. Would go off I reckon (numbers-wise) too

Edit: sadly ‘Oliver and Company’ didn’t make the cut (mainly because my grid app could only do 30 lol) and yes it’s technically 31 films between those years. OaC stans make enough noise though and they’d probably add it hehe

Another ‘In Review’ series idea: Don Bluth (animation legend)

I really hope I’m not the only KFBF who loves Don’s films here. NIMH is my favourite, followed by Rock-A-Doodle then All Dogs Go To Heaven, which I think u/GameOverGreggy would love.

Do you think there’d be enough interest?

I think a Laika In Review would do really well. Especially in the age of AI, people are flocking back to tactile, tangible, hand-made art.

Wildwood releases this October too, in production for 5 years. There’s a big anti-AI community movement behind the film which I love, the trailer brought me to tears and got 80M views in 48 hours.

Three worlds I’d love LAIKA to explore: DoubleFine, South of Midnight, and Don Bluth

“Fire in the deep! The demon comes!” the guttural choir beneath the Balrog reveal was crafted in Khuzdul by Howard Shore and David Salo to make Moria feel haunted, while John Howe, Ben Wootten, Gino Acevedo and Paul Campion helped forge the Balrog’s iconic fire-shadow design at Wētā Workshop.

As an Ol’ Diamondback Sturgeon sicko (love that song), The Ol’ Grizz is damn perfect

We need a third “Ol” animal song to complete the trilogy. Best Primus track yet! Instant classic
