Anytime I see this I think…
Guy can’t shoot.
I mean 5 inline ports and a massive chunk port… for a steel frame 9mm?!?

Took a lesson at Griffin & Howe this weekend and it was a blast. Yes the place is a nice as you heard…. Staff was very friendly and we got to browse the store after class. Wish I was well connected enough to be a member lol
It was only my second time with this rifle and after making some adjustments and confirming zero at 100 yards I was able to make first round hits all the way out to 700 yards. Tried but was not able to hit 900 yards… there’s no berm behind it so very difficult to see where the rounds were going, even with the instructor trying to call the shots. Lesson was 2 hours only so ended up running out of time.
Pros: got to zero my scope accurately, set the zero stop, play with a garmin chronograph (which I need to buy) and started using AB Quantum ballistic app. I also know DOPE now :)
Cons: ran out of time, should have done prep work in advance like confirming zero at 200/300 yards, testing different ammo with a chronograph.
Biggest win was getting out there and meeting new like minded people!
Setup: Benelli Lupo HPR in 6.5 Creedmore, Bushnell Match Pro ED 5-25x56, accutac bipod.
Rifle impressions: rifle shot great, no issues of any kind. After zeroing at 100 my shots were touching each other but I couldn’t go there to measure it. I can do that at my local range some other time. The weight of the rifle (10.4lbs without optics) makes for a very soft shooting experience. Trigger is adjustable and was set at factory to be sub 2lbs. Built in cheek riser is a nice touch.
Ammo: Norma 130g (it was the ammo tested at factory) but have other ammo to test out next time.
Question: Garmin Xero C1 or Athlon for the chronograph? I see them around 360 and 300 beans respectively.
Question 2: I feel the MPED did well, and don’t feel it held me back except at max magnification and trying to see hit at 900 yards. I was thinking of upgrading to a Leupold MK4 HD 8-32x56 PR2 MIL. Am I just trying to compensate for lack of skill or is it a worthy upgrade?

Driveway at a rental property needed some patch work and to avoid this dip around the sidewalk. My GC said he could do the repair and since it was a small job I didn’t think a proper asphalt company would be willing do it…
He used Quikrete Blacktop Repair yesterday morning. It’s just over 24 hours which I know it’s a bit soon, and weather was over 90F most of today.
The areas that were more shallow are relatively hard now. But this area is still soft as I step over it. I understand it should be done in layers compacting every few inches. So it it normal to take 2-3 days to cure like he’s saying? Can using a torch expedite the process? Any other advice?
Thanks in advance

I was in early because I’m a, ahan… Executive Member and I avoid the crowds like the plague. But as a true executive member I’ll be waiting for a price drop. Still nice to see it though at the Teterboro Costco
They claim the NRA helped and as an affiliated organization it would make sense, despite not being as loud and up front as GOA and FPC, which have been solid. In the end it’s a collective effort and if you are not a member of the ANJRPC you should be, even if you don’t want to shoot at chery ridge. You can be a member without range access for less than a cup of coffee a week.

Been enjoying the Vortex Diamondback HP 4-16x42 this past year or so, wanted something light that could still let me see hits at 50-100 yards. But the eyebox does get pretty tight at 16x
I have this Venom 3-15x44 and will try it out. I was surprised it wasn’t much bigger, although it’s thicker (34mm vs 1” tube). Hoping the eye box is more forgiving, but for sure the glass and reticle are nicer
Anyone try both and can shed some light?
I understand that for Rifles it’s an offending feature. But for an Other, the AWB shouldn’t apply correct?
In NJ an assault firearm is:
" A. semi-automatic rifle that has the ability to accept a detachable magazine and has at least 2 of the following:
a folding or telescoping stock;
a pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon;
a bayonet mount;
a flash suppressor or threaded barrel designed to accommodate a flash suppressor; and
a grenade launcher;"
Top is a pic from Evolution Armory’s website. Bottom is what the SA Loaded Black Target looked like when new. What’s the play here if I’m going to redo my SA Loaded Black Target since the Armory Kote is wearing off?
Here are my two 10/22 but I’ve had this Tac sol green barrel a while… how’s the Tac Sol receiver/barrels in general? Are they usually more accurate than Ruger? Or just lighter weight?
Also my 60th anniversary that was NOT advertised as having a BX trigger has a lighter pull weight than my new Carbon with a BX trigger. Is it that the special edition models get extra love or that it’s been more broken in?
250 rounds of CCI SV went flawlessly.
Then I had to test a box of Aguila 40g round lead and had 1 malfunction and some shrapnel coming out the brake… dang I hate that ammo and can’t wait to finish it all
I was mostly plinking and zeroing the optic. The Holsoun ARO 26mm is great, easy to dial using a spent casing too.
The target was my last 50 rounds at 10 yards rapid fire. This will be a steel challenge gun. Don’t mind that little flier 😂
38 jelly beans for 3 Ruger BX mags plus shipping. They also have 3 mag covers for 8 bucks
Edit:::: Magshak
My range offers members gun cleaning and I had 3 vouchers to use before renewing… dropped off my P226, PDP SF and stupidly my SA 1911
They were supposed to clean the slides by hand and the lowers in the ultrasonic cleaner. I picked up the guns like 30 minutes later while using the range and upon inspection this is how the 1911 came out.
Part of me feels it was bound to happen but another part feels the slide should not have been dropped in the ultrasonic. They offered to cerakote the gun to make up for it but I don’t like cerakote and love this two tone.
1- Any thoughts on how this happened? Negligence or just a matter of time?
2- I was debating having the top front strap serrated and refinished by SA along with changing the front sight. Should I have the top serrated and refinished as well? Or keep the original top design?
3- any short term thing I should do to protect the slide? Not sure it its stainless steel or not
Ordered a Ruger 10/22 Carbon from BET Armory from Ohio, full name is Bridgeport Equipment. The item was shipped next day and arrived at my FFL as expected. The price was lower than the advertised by a major retailer in the Palmetto state once you figured out that retailer OTD total price including shipping and taxes.
