Ex-ICE agent’s group awarded $158 million to represent migrant children

Trump's federal government quietly handed over a no-bid contract to a Utah company raises a lot of red flags. This contract is set to balloon to over $244 million in 5 years:

  • The Recipient: The contract was awarded to OUR Rescue (formerly Operation Underground Railroad), the anti-trafficking organization associated with the founder Tim Ballard and the movie Sound of Freedom. Ironically, this group has faced high-profile lawsuits involving sexual misconduct/trafficking allegations against its former leadership.
  • Lack of Experience: OUR Rescue has no prior experience in providing legal representation to unaccompanied migrant children and has never handled federal contracts of this nature before.
  • Massive No-Bid Contract: The award is listed for $244 Million (with $158.1 Million currently obligated) for legal services for migrant children under HHS (Department of Health and Human Services), awarded without a competitive bidding process.
  • Defunding Previous Legal Groups: Existing legal service providers—who were actively representing migrant kids—were cut off or refused payment after declining to hand over confidential files involving children to the government.
  • Financial & Corporate "Red Flags": OUR Rescue's disclosures revealed shell companies (in Dubai), family members on the payroll, anonymous contractors, and newly formed DC entities right before the arrangement.

Mainstream media is radio silent on this: The federal government quietly slipped out a massive, multi-million-dollar contract on a Friday night to an organization embroiled in public controversy and legal trouble, while defunding established legal aid organizations.

Taxpayer money wealth transfer: Taxpayer dollars meant for vulnerable children is being funneled into groups whose leadership are facing sexual misconduct lawsuits, shell companies in Dubai, and family members on the payroll.

Trump cut funding for real legal aid for migrant kids to give a $244M no-bid contract to OUR Rescue & the money trail goes straight to Dubai shells

https://www.sltrib.com/news/politics/2026/08/12/utah-anti-trafficking-group-is/

What's actually happening here:

A massive $244M government payout ($158M already handed over) that HHS quietly dumped out on a Friday night.

Why people are losing their shit:

  • Who got the money: The contract went to OUR Rescue (formerly Operation Underground Railroad)—the Sound of Freedom group that's currently getting dragged through court over sexual misconduct and trafficking allegations against its former leadership.
  • They have zero experience: They’ve never represented migrant kids in court a day in their lives, nor have they ever run a federal legal contract like this.
  • They pushed out actual legal teams: The Feds reportedly froze out the legitimate legal aid groups who were already doing the work because those lawyers refused to hand over confidential files on the kids.
  • The paper trail is filthy: The money trail leads to Dubai shell companies, family members getting paid off, anonymous contractors, and a pop-up DC firm set up right before the deal went down.

The Feds basically stripped funding from real legal aid providers to cut a massive, no-bid check to a scandal-plagued, unqualified charity—and the financial trail leads right into offshore shells.

And this was all done as quietly as possible.

We need to flip every seat in November.

Trump wants this type of bullshit to be the norm in America and it will be unless we push back.

After your visit, Universal will send you a survey, please remember to add, "Please do something about line jumpers!"

If we all collectively do this, then maybe Universal will take notice and do something about it.

We experienced line jumpers at the Battle of the Ministry ride. Two adult American men (no accents) pretending they were catching up with their family.

We happened to be close enough to the front of the line that we could see those two adult American men actually just cut their way to the front of the line.

If we don't let Universal know about this then, it will only get worse because line cutting works. Most guests will not stop you.

One of the best ways is to please add this to your guest feedback survey that everyone gets after visiting Universal.

Exploring Plex optimization ideas, how fast would you rate the optimization level of your Plex setup in terms of remote user experience?

Assuming your users have a very capable streaming box like, Nvidia, Apple, or the new ONN box from Walmart.

Assuming host is running on Google Fiber Gigabit service, very low ping times using SpeedTest, like 0.

Assuming users have at least 350 mbps download speeds.

  1. How many seconds does it take for the main page to load?
  2. How many seconds does it take for each section to load, ie: Movies, TV Shows, etc?
  3. When you browse, do the poster thumbnails appear immediately like Netflix or is there a noticeable loading time?
  4. How many seconds does it take to "spin up" a video?
  5. How does scrubbing / seeking feel? Is it a quick and smooth experience like Netflix?

Would you care to share your Plex optimization tips here for the community?

Thank you for reading!

I am really sick of people with kids who feel like their time is worth more than your time because they have kids and you don't

I wish all of Reddit and all of the world could understand this:

>Having kids means your schedule is busier, not that everyone else's time is free.

It's always that one family member who acts like this.
