Considering that blues rock is the father of metal, do you listen to any blues rock bands/artists? Or does that genre sound dated to you?

I recommed listen to Rory Gallagher, great guitarist. There's an urban legend stating that when Jimi Hendrix was asked in an interview (often cited as the Mike Douglas Show or Rolling Stone) what it felt like to be the greatest guitarist in the world, he replied: "I don’t know, go ask Rory Gallagher"

Dou you have to watch 'Dexter: New Blood' first to enjoy 'Dexter: Resurrection'? (no spoilers please)

I have seen that Resurrection is very high rated in rating sites and New Blood no so much. I already watched the original Dexter series. Is convenient skip New Blood and watch directly Resurrection?

Criteria: I calculated the average of the rankings of MetalStorm, Rateyourmusic and AOTY for each one of the best albums ranked and this is the result. Due the three sites use different rating systems I decided to use this method instead of the average of the ratings.

Observations:

-All of these 35 albums, coincidentally, are part of the top 100 metal albums of each site.

- The final top 4 albums are part of the top 7 metal albums of each website. In other words, those 4 albums are the undisputed best 4 albums, they are too ahead of the rest.

- The number 1 in AOTY ranking, Toxicity by System of a Down, was not included because it's not part of the top 200 in Metalstorm. This ranking is about the average of the three sites.

- The number 36 and 37 are None So Vile by Cryptopsy and Arise by Sepultura, respectively. After that, it's very hard to know which are the next ones on the list, things get very messy from there with this method.

source: https://consequence.net/list/the-100-best-vocalists-of-all-time/brandy/

"There are singers, and there are vocalists. The best vocalists don’t rest on natural gifts, but instead use their creativity and vision to push their instruments where no one else could go. From Freddie Mercury’s range and Aretha Franklin’s swagger to Kendrick Lamar’s goblin tones and Tom Waits’ mad experiments"

"To generate our list of the top 100 vocalists of all time, we polled over 50 musicians, including Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Class of ’26er Steve Stevens, rising stars like Samia, Blondshell, and Kneecap, and established icons Randy Blythe, Mike Patton, and Linda Perry, plus many more. After we assembled the surveys into the spine of the list, our staff chimed in with more picks, mostly historical, to round things out. The final ranking is a curated perspective on the hundreds of names that were nominated."

I know Fates Warning since the very beginning of my metal journey, decades ago, I remember being fascinated with their first albums and John Arch's voice. Later, I started to apreciate their albums post John Arch's era: songs like Monument were incredible innovative and something like avant-garde for those times. Still, they are kinda being ignored somehow for the metal community in general.

Crowbar's boost in popularity recently is crazy, they are right now more popular on spotify than very popular bands like Anthrax, Arch Enemy, Amon Amarth and as popular as Helloween and In Flames. It's also remarkable that this boost is not because of few huge hits but it's a consequence of their whole catalog.

On the opposite side is Morbid Angel, with poor numbers for such a legendary band and one of the fathers of death metal.
