Hot take: The two interludes on Ocean Blvd are absolutely necessary.

I know art is subjective, but I have to disagree with anyone and everyone who says that Lana could've scrapped off the two interludes on this album (yes, including the sermon one).

Judas Smith... I don't even know who this guy is, but it doesn't matter. Why doesn't it matter? Well because he's doing his job in this album good enough. Heck, I'm an atheist, but I eat tf outta this song taken off from a Christian sermon. The message of lust is so relevant in this album, considering the fact that this song is positioned right after A&W. Let's put two and two together. The piano is chilling, straight outta a film sequence (that's what I originally thought it was anyway). The laughter and polite remarks of Lana and her acquaintance in the background gives a whole new level of immersion, like I'm WITH them there.

Then it blows (literally cus I hear a gush of wind) into Candy Necklace, after which follows John Batiste Interlude.

I like this one more. Again, I'll say that it has film elements. John's repeated "I feel it" "I feel it in my soul" and his laughs sounds SO NATURAL. And Lana's too. It's like they're genuinely having a private moment of friendship and partnership (working on their song). The "ooh honey" is my favourite part.

Album listening without these two interludes WOULD NOT hit the same, I'm telling you. Lana is a genius in creating and adding these interludes.

MANHWA MANHWA MANHWA MANHWA MANHWA

O.K. since I caught your attention... word on the street says there's a MANHWA upcoming for this incredible piece of fiction. But once I find out they're censoring it, I'm walking out deadass. This isn't some "houseplay", babygirl this is GROTESQUE. Stick to the script. Please.

I will be needing to see flesh, organs, deaths in fucking 3D IMAX for howmuchever months these characters will be terrorizing each other's lives.

And I won't be accepting character faces to be straight outta beauty salons. I'm already dissatisfied with the official arts, but whatever, I don't want MODELS to be in a fucking horror story. So let's stick to the theme, yeah? Show some grim emotions. Have a good anatomy while you're at it. Show tensions. Idk bruh show me anything APART from generic white washed faces. 🤏🏻

But whatever brings in more fans ig. Yay manhwa.

Imagine if it's not true lmfao. 💀

I was looking for new albums to listen to, and was browsing through a music vlog page. There I found WT,ISLY under the "cinematic albums" recommendation, and it was rated a 9/10, so I picked it up. I wasn't disappointed! I'm so obsessed with this album! The swarm of sounds has been stuck in my mind. The storytelling, production, and vocals are just so good. Amazing album fr. I might check out her other stuff. Also, the aesthetic is surreal.

P.S.: The "forever" chants of Tempest is still playing in my head as I'm writing this lol. Feels like I've been hypnotised.

Okay.... Not bad. Those ending moments did feel a bit mushy, but overall this entire part contained peak cinema— that I cannot deny.

I enjoyed this novel, cannot wait to see what the next part brings to the table.

Yorushika has a collection of amazing music videos dripping with creativity and artistic visions. From the cinematic Nautilus to animatic Howling At The Moon.

However, the one I find solace in has to be this one— Left-Right Confusion. A huge chunk of reason being the state of my life during the release of this mv was good. Despite that, the music video itself... It's immersive.

I like how there's no digital device (or any other "polluting items") in the scene. The room is filled with passionate objects. The piano, plants, cartography on the wall, blank canvas, the sea breeze and sunlight, the lady reading a book, the person drawing her, and the cat. They all present a scene in which I find calmness and warmth.

I love the song itself. My favourite bridge by them is in this song:

I would peel off my heart from my body bit by bit

/ And hand it to you, and you could have all of it. ...}

Wow.

At around 2:48, the scene becomes dull and gloomy, when the lady leaves to get some cat food for the cat. Rain drops drizzle outside, and the breeze blowing feels colder. This shows such a great detail to how lovers' can behave, and I love them for showing the emotions implicitly.

Then, the lady comes back to her seat, along with which the sunlight and the chorus enters again, too; progressing into the person's relief and comfort, that even I as a viewer could feel.

Finally, it concludes with the lady noticing (us) the person drawing her this entire time, with a playful peeking action. A minor thing, which I love is how in the very ending seconds, she looks outside yet again, and there— suis' vocals end the song in calm and silent fashion:

Your heart and my heart,

/ Would be as one forever, I believed.

Comfort song and music video, fr.
