The father is a Botswanan male cheetah, marking the beginning of the Botswana lineage in India. With these births, India’s total cheetah population reached 60, including 41 Indian-born cheetahs. KJP21 is the third Indian-born female to give birth, after Mukhi and KGP12. All cubs and the mother are healthy, officials confirmed.

When babies couldn’t fit through or they would get stuck in the pelvis, parts of bone and cartridge were removed to create more space for the baby. This is called a “symphysiotomy,” which is a surgical procedure in which the cartilage of the pubic symphysis is divided to widen the pelvis, allowing childbirth when there are severe complications and other methods like cesarean section are not available or advisable.

In a coma, a person is deeply unconscious but still alive, with some brain and brainstem function preserved. EEG may show slow or abnormal activity, brainstem reflexes and sometimes spontaneous breathing may remain, and recovery can be possible.

In brain death, the entire brain, including the brainstem, has irreversibly stopped functioning. There are no brainstem reflexes, responses, or spontaneous breathing, and it is legally and medically considered death. EEG may show no detectable electrical activity, while blood-flow tests may show no flow to the brain. The distinction is made through detailed clinical testing by specialists, not EEG alone.
