sets or brands you'd recommend to a newbie?

hello, all! i really want to get into lego and things alike, but some of the lego sets are too expensive for my budget right now and i have no idea where to search and what kind of sets i'd like... so i'm asking you all -- what are some sets you'd recommend to a newbie and what brands should i look into?

i really like the lego flowers series or their camera. regular things made from bricks seem fun! but i'm open to all! my budget for one set is maximum 20 euros, but i'd like something that takes time and focus to build... :)
thanks!

How to delete storage from the "Other" category on Mac?

Hello, all. I have a Macbook Air from early 2015, running on MacOS Catalina, it still works well even after all those years. I mainly use it to watch movies or read and do emails. The issue I have is that half of its storage is taken by things I have no idea of, and I'd like to get rid of that.

Is there a way to access the "System" and "Other" tabs in storage? Similarly, is there a way to free space from the Mail app? I logged out of my email account from there months ago and yet, it's still taking some space. Thanks!

what can i do when waking up early and everyone is still asleep?

for some reason, lately, i've been going to bed around 10pm instead of the usual 1am. i've been waking up between 3am and 4am every morning for the past three days and i'm very much not used to do that. usually, i wake up when my family has gone to work/school (i live with my parents and sibling). when it's a weekday, i can easily get out of bed and get breakfast and chat with them from 5am, but when it's the weekend... well, everyone is asleep until around 8am or more, and i don't want to be loud or turn the lights on (we have an open kitchen, so it lights up most of the living area).

early risers that have nothing to do... what do you usually do when you wake up early?

Urinary retention at 22?

Hello, all. This is kind of embarrassing but I need some insight – if any of you dealt with any part of this, please share any tips you have. (For context, I'm 22, no other issues except some ovary pain / pelvic pain that has been going on long before this.)

For the past three months now, or even more, but it's getting worse, I've been experiencing difficulty peeing and emptying my bladder. It sometimes takes me around 5 minutes before I start peeing and my stream is weak. It will stop and I'll have to wait a few minutes, sometimes get out of the bathroom for 15 minutes, before I can pee again.

It kind of feels like I have to push out my pee, or else it won't come out.

There is no burning or particular pain near the vulva (but there is pain in the pelvic area and at times a warm sensation). Now it's gotten worse to the point where I think I might have small leakage? I wake up in the morning, or get out of the bathroom thinking I've finally emptied it all, and I'll find some stains of what smells like urine in my underwear. Not a lot, just two small stains... enough that it smells (to me, at least. I don't think my parents have noticed).

It's not discharge as usually I can always feel my discharge coming out. I don't feel any of the leaks coming out, maybe it happens at night or whenever I sit or put some pressure on my lower region or bladder. I also feel some sort of pressure whenever I sit down or lay down a certain way. It's so embarrassing and I have no idea what to do. I've decided to use panty liners to at least reduce the odor left on my underwear and I'm seeing my gynecologist/GP (she does both!) tomorrow.

Please, if any of you have any tips on how I can deal with leakage and empty my bladder... I'd appreciate it. Or even share your experience. Thank you.

possibly urinary retention? any tips on how to deal with this?

hello! 22f, here. i have been experiencing some symptoms for over 3 to 4 months now, and i'm seeing my GP/gynecologist (she does both!) on friday but wanted some insight before then.

i've been having pelvic pain for around a year, with ovary pain as well. we did some scans and nothing came back except that one of my ovaries was too close to my uterus. for the past four months, i've been having difficulty urinating and it seems to only be getting worse.

no matter how much i drink or need to pee, it usually takes me between 2 and sometimes over 5 minutes to start peeing and my flow isn't even regular... it stops and then it takes me some more time to pick back. sometimes it's impossible for me to fully empty my bladder despite how much i want to. so i'll stand up, get out of the toilet while still needing to go but nothing comes out... i'll wait for 10 or 15 minutes before trying again.

it's all very annoying and exhausting, and usually gets harder two weeks before my period. i find myself going to the bathroom often because i feel like i have to pee but nothing (or only some droplets) will come out. what's most annoying is that lately, i think i've been experiencing some leakage? my underwear smells of pee despite me wiping well and sometimes with wipes, but i'll find some small stains of pee and it will smell of urine.

i genuinely don't know what to do. i've googled my symptoms because even when talking with my parents, they don't seem to care (they often think i'm making things up...), and what came up was urinary retention? has anyone experienced something similar before? any tips?

i'm obviously going to talk about this with my doctor later this week but wanted to know what you guys thought and if anyone had any tips to deal with this for now and what may be causing this? i'm not on any medication except birth control for pmdd, at a very low dosage.

thanks!

thoughts about D2 & any recommendations for fanfictions that are centered around ben's character?

TLDR: any fanfictions that are about ben and him dealing with being part-beast, or fanfictions focused on his and mal's relationship post D1 / during or post D2? i'd love to see more of them outside conflict. read more to see my thoughts on D2!

hello, everyone! 🍎⭐️ i watched D2 for the first time tonight. i used to love D1 as a kid but when D2 came out, i had totally forgotten about the franchise and moved to highschool by then... so i'm catching up! i didn't read any of the books and only watched wicked world after rewatching the first movie. (WW was really fun and cute!) haven't watched D3 yet, so no spoilers!

anyway, some thoughts about descendants 2! i personally found it kind of fast-paced compared to the first one. everything was happening so fast and it felt like we barely had time to let the characters breathe and sit through their different arcs. it also feel like we barely got to know the pirate crew... uma seems like a great character, but with everything happening so fast, we don't get to know her that much. she's basically going through exactly what mal and the vks were going through before coming to auradon.

i loved the songs! i think the soundtrack is as strong as descendants' soundtrack, (especially a fan of chillin' like a villain!)

and oh my god, the outfits! a big, big fan of all the looks the characters have in this one! well, except mal's yellow and blue cotillon's dress... evie, i love you, but what is that?...

i absolutely loved all the looks mal wore in this! and ben's look on the isle? he looked really good. no wonder harry couldn't keep his hook to himself. (side note: everyone in this movie is gay of some kind. hello, mal and evie's duet?)

one thing that i wish had happened was ben turning into a beast or shown more beast-like attitude during the battle between uma and mal at the end. he does mention it a few times, and we see him lose his chill a bit, even if it mostly happens under uma's spell. i really love ben and he's in my top three, so i was a little sad that it felt like they only used him as a plot device throughout this movie. plus, it feels like we didn't get to see much of his and mal's relationship outside conflict...

which is why i'm wondering if anyone has fanfic recs that are more about ben and maybe him dealing with beast-like issues, or anything that focuses on mal and ben's relationship during or after D1 / post D2? thank you! ♡

difficulty emptying my bladder, any tips?

hello, all. very quick post here as i need some advice. i'm seeing my gynecologist soon, anyway but wanted to know if anyone else here had gone through that or could potentially help me figure out what's wrong.

for the past six months or so, i've had difficulty emptying my bladder. i have to push to pee, and my stream stops after a few seconds before picking back up or stopping but i still feel like i need to pee so i just have to wait and focus on my breathing to finally pee some more... every time i go pee, i often feel like my bladder isn't fully empty but even when relaxing or pushing, nothing is coming out and i don't want to stay more on the toilet.

i sometimes spend fifteen minutes trying to feel empty... i also go back to pee every 20/30 minutes or so when i feel my bladder isn't empty. it sucks a lot. my ovaries also have been hurting for over a year. i've done scans and there is no cyst, the only thing that they could find was that one of my ovaries was too close to my uterus – the thing is, both of my ovaries have been hurting. i was supposed to do an MRI but forgot about it and definitely need to...

i've heard some people say that difficulty emptying your bladder and peeing often are signs of diabetes and my father's family all have it, so maybe...

but was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to fully empty my bladder?

how can i stop or deal with underboob sweat?

hello, all! as the title says, i'm wondering what can i do about underboob sweat. it's between 36° and 40° in my country, and even with a fan in my room, i still sweat a lot... mostly under my boobs since they're kind of heavy and saggy.

i already apply deodorant, specifically men's deodorant to neutralise the odor, but i still sweat and it's uncomfortable. sometimes, i'll put my shirt under my boobs but it doesn't work all the time.

i don't wear a bra inside since i don't see the use, and would probably feel warmer if i did so. so, how can i deal with underboob sweat when being braless? thanks!

how to protect your books during a heat wave? and how do you read during this heat?

hello, all! my country has been experiencing a heat wave for the past week, and i've been seeing a bunch of people say that their vinyls and books have melted. specifically, the glue that holds the pages together.

it's 40⁰ outside, and still very warm inside despite closing the blinds and never opening the windows unless there is wind... my bookshelf isn't facing the sun at all, and i always make sure that there are no rays of sunlight hitting my shelf even when my blinds are open during cooler days.

i haven't been reading for the past three weeks because of how sweaty i get from doing literally anything. my hands are very sweaty during this heat and i don't want to damage my books. i'm terrified to check if the glue could've melted due to the heat, but i will later.

i was wondering if this had happened to anyone or if there was any way to prevent this?

and how are you all reading books during very warm weather without getting your sweaty hands on them? thank you. i don't have any collectors, just paperbacks and some comics and manga, but still... :c

hairstyles to keep hair off neck, with a sensitive scalp?

hello, all! i have 3a curls, fine hair that is mid length (around my shoulders). and with the heat wave my country is experiencing, i've been keeping my hair up a lot. as someone with a sensitive scalp, anytime i put my hair up a bit, even if it's not tied super tight, it ends up pulling on my hair and hurting and i often have to resort to a low ponytail which means my hair is touching my neck and making me sweat... at this point, i don't really care about keeping the curls...

i braided my hair this morning and despite my hair being in a braid and not touching my neck as much, i'm still sweating! it's awful. i don't know what to do and would love to know if anyone else has that issue and what helps them keep their hair off their neck.

i can't do anything too fancy with pins and stuff because i'm also prone to headaches and my hair gets greasy whenever i touch it. anyway, what are the ways i can keep my hair off my neck without it causing a headache or feeling sore? thanks!

routine: don't protect my hair with anything. i double shampoo with head and shoulders 2in1 and then apply a leave-in from yves rocher and put my hair in a towel for fifteen minutes before letting it air dry.
