Paying tax twice on 2024-25 PAYE underpayment

I got this message about 2024-25 last year:

Why you have paid too little tax
Each year we check everyone's tax position to see if the correct amount of Income Tax was paid. We have now looked at the latest information we hold for this year and have worked out that you have paid too little tax. We provide a full calculation and explanation in this letter.

A couple of weeks after that I had to register for self assessment due to my side income and paid the self assessment for 2024-25. The self assessment included the underpayment. And because I registered I was locked out from viewing my tax calculation and said to go to self assessment instead. Then when I got my 2026-27 tax code it's including the £56.80 underpayment which means I'm now paying it twice.

Royal Mail not scanning 2nd class items as delivered?

I’ve recently sold 2 cheap PS4 games and sent them with Royal Mail 2nd class. There’s no tracking with this but they’re meant to provide a delivery confirmation.

I shipped the first game in May and never got a delivery confirmation. The buyer never contacted me and there was no feedback left, so I can only assume it’s been delivered and Royal Mail didn’t scan it.

I shipped my second one this week and yet to see any delivery confirmation.

In your experience is it becoming common nowadays for 2nd class items to not get any delivered scans? I see a delivered scan for 2nd class deliveries to my house but have seen it’s not the case everywhere.

Gmail iOS notifications have stopped working

I no longer get any notifications from the Gmail iOS app. I have to open the app manually for new emails to appear. Nothing has changed apart from updating to iOS 26.6. And yes I already tried reinstalling. My notifications are on (for all emails) as well as background app refresh.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

Random performance issues

I got my Ring Wired Pro 3rd gen doorbell a couple of months ago and the RSSI would sit between -75 to -80. I’ve recently changed my router settings so the 2.4 ghz always broadcasts at 20 mhz and now the RSSI has become slightly better, now sitting between -69 and -72 (and below -70 is enough to make the app stop complaining apparently)

Despite this, and the video streams reaching as high as 15 Mbps bit rate I sometimes notice these two things:

  1. Most of the time it rings immediately but in rare occasions there’s a 5 second delay between the doorbell press and the ring. The strange thing is that the recording starts a couple of seconds before the press so I’m confused how can it take ages to ring if it’s recording smoothly?

  2. Sometimes when using the app reboot button the doorbell stays offline and doesn’t reconnect. But when I flip the circuit breaker for it off and on it starts working again.

Are these two things due to my RSSI? There are no plugs in the hallway near the doorbell so I’m not sure what else I can do apart from messing with the router settings.

Sony should say something before they permanently destroy the brand.

It feels like someone at Sony has gone rogue. The sentiment is as bad as XBOX in 2013 right now and they’ve been struggling ever since. If they keep ignoring this and pretend everything is fine they are going to end up in the same situation.
