I added 8-directional shooting and extra frames for Kikna Starlight

So, in this gameplay, I had added a mechanic to direct the crossbow towards the corners of the ROOMS to shoot the monsters more easily instead of just a straight line.

How did I add more frames between the animations of the Kikna Starlight object

I developed the best queer 2D musou roguelite on a cheap Android phone.

Hey there,

*Starfish ROOM: DEFEND THE ROOMS* is a pixel-art *musou* roguelite inspired by games like *Vampire Survivors*, *Spent Shells*, and *Bullet Bunny*. You play as Kibo Wave—a progressive trans catboy chosen by his home planet (Cat-Planet) to defend the "ROOMs" against power-hungry alien colonizers. Ultimately, Kibo encounters his future self—a mecha-clone named Boki—and meets his end in the ensuing battle.

It’s not your typical roguelite; every card carries high risk—it’s a gamble where you either get lucky or suffer the card's downside.

Unfortunately, my phone didn't record the gameplay audio, so you'll have to watch it without sound.

The game also supports accelerometer controls, which is one of its unique features.

You can find the game at https://store.steampowered.com/app/4520420/Starfish\_ROOM\_DEFEND\_THE\_ROOMS/, or search for it on Steam and add it to your wishlist. Thanks!

Is there any way to promote my musou roguelite pixel art?

It's true that we have a lot of games these days, but is a pixel art musou roguelite game something different in this sea of roguelites?

I have a Steam page for my game Starfish ROOM: DEFEND THE ROOMS and I wanted to know what I should do to make this game go viral or even just to build a good community, for example

Thanks for the tip!

I'm developing an indie game project inspired by indie games and cartoons from the 2010s

Hey, I'm not very nostalgic (even though I'll be 21 in 2026) but I've been creating some projects since 2016.

This project is inspired by indie cartoons and games from that era, mixed with current themes.

In this game, we control a transgender catboy named Kibo Wave who needs to DEFEND THE ROOMS by killing a thousand monsters against one and fighting conservative alien colonizers in an loop eternal against your future self clone

What's wrong with this game?

Hey, unfortunately my game only got about 100 wishlists by the end of Steam Next Fest

Does anyone else recommend other Steam marketing methods that I could use to try and boost my Steam page?

ATTACK, COLLECT CORE AND DEFEND BEFORE FLOW

In this update, I added text explaining the game's objective, and I also made the gameplay more addictive in the same style as Vampire Survivors, and much more...

O som do jogo agora está mais suave e os monstros tem knockback e voltamos com o FLOW invés do TIMER pra não soar generico ou arcade

A chaotic, fast-paced 2D musou roguelite is among the greatest musou games on The Itch.

Hey r/itchio,

Just wanted to share a milestone that feels a bit surreal. I’ve been pouring my heart into Starfish ROOM, a 2D sci-fi hack-and-slash roguelite.

The premise is that you play as Kibo Wave, stuck in an eternal loop fighting off alien colonization. You draft cards, build up crazy synergies, and cut through hundreds of enemies. I've been tweaking the gameplay a lot based on early testing—for example, I recently stripped out the old speedrun mechanics entirely just to double down on making the combat and card drafting feel as tight as possible.

It’s incredibly tough to get noticed as an indie dev these days, so I’m just trying to get some honest eyes on it. If you like fast-paced arcade action, score attacks, and pixel art, please check out the Steam page.

If you have any feedback or questions about the dev process, I'd love to chat in the comments!

I improved the accessibility accelerometer controls in my 2D musou roguelite. It's great idea?

After a 1 year old developing solo with a old smartphone, I finally got my 2D Sci-Fi musou roguelite onto Steam. It’s terrifying but exciting.
