Game Name: Starfish ROOM: WELCOME TO LOOP ETERNAL

Description:

Starfish ROOM is a fast-paced 2D action roguelite / musou-inspired game. You play as Kibo Wave, a transgender catboy fighting hordes of monsters and aliens while trying to defend mysterious ROOMS.

The gameplay is pretty simple:

Fight hordes → collect Core → choose cards → survive the Flow → enter a Starfish Arena → fight an alien → repeat the loop.

There are also random cards, combos with special effects, dynamite, dash attacks and a bunch of weird characters and situations.

I'm still improving the game, so I'd genuinely love to know what you think about the gameplay itself. What feels fun? What feels repetitive? What would make you want to keep playing?

I had added noise to the game's graphics to make it less polished and generic, and added more variations of monsters and smarter aliens. I improved the sound and will improve the combat between Kibo and the mobs in the future.

I've been working on a little indie game called Starfish ROOM, and I'd honestly love to see these characters drawn in someone else's style.

You can pick any character you like from the image. You don't have to draw all of them, and I'm totally fine with sketches or simple drawings.

They're all my original characters, so feel free to interpret them in your own style. I'd just be really happy to see what someone does with them!

In this video, I added a blue light to the dash, now the TIMER makes the player play faster.

In addition to the traditional monsters, there are now the "OLD SISTERS" versions, which are larger, less mobile, non-binary girl versions.

The blood became more transparent than before.

A few days ago I posted Starfish ROOM here and received a lot of feedback (both positive and critical). I've spent the last few days reworking several aspects of the game.

I added blue trails when dashing, and the monster AI has 3 states: standing still, walking, and running.

I reduced the game camera zoom from "1.2" to "1"

Monsters turn red when they sense damage.
