Guy in front of me at the self checkout walked away with his groceries after his card was declined - I wasn't paying enough attention and ended up paying $10 for his stuff

After he walked away with his stolen items, I walked up to a "card denied" message on the screen, which I tapped away. However I wasn't paying full attention and stupidly thought that I was ending his "session" and starting a new one. I swiped all my items quickly and paid without looking. Got home and realized I'd paid for his stuff too. Lesson learned - always get a member of staff to deal with "card denied" situations.

Does anyone remember the Viz team doing a show one night on Metro Radio in the mid 90's?

I lived in Newcastle at the time and have a shaky memory of them standing in for the Night Owls show. I have a vague memory of early Viz regular Andrew Tait, the poet, being in the studio reciting one of his poems. It was a love poem, and each line alternated with a list of fruit and nuts. Something like "My love for you is hard to define, apples and hazelnuts lychees and monkey nuts."
