I can’t remove moderators, but I’m on top.

Hi, I have a subreddit above 5.000 members, I have a mod below me with full permissions and all the other mods have limited permissions. I used to be able to remove mods, but I can’t remove anyone even though I’m on top. Whats wrong ?

The 25 brain myth as an excuse for ageism on young adults fully debunked.

I am not even speaking from a Youth Rights perspective, I’m just saying reality.

Even if for the sake of the argument they are right (which I think it may be 21, 25 is too much), the differences neurologically between an 18 year and an 25 year old are so minimal and insignificant, that’s it’s one of the least important factors in discriminating that age group.

The neurologically difference is so small, that’s personal maturity, intelligence, way of thinking, education, values and other things, are vastly more important to judge a person.

That’s why there is no rational way of argue, 18’s should be blindly discriminated because they are 18 and not 25. Because between 18 and 25 the difference neurologically is near zero, even if it exists. Other things matter.

It may sound too little from a Youth Rights perspective, but this is something, that can be agreed by anyone with basic logic.

An 18 year old CAN date someone younger than 18 btw.

Who else gets pissed off when they see shit like this (talking about the 18 y/o) and there are people in the comment section who are agreeing (very few in fact) but thankfully for the majority of people they aren’t braindead and agree a 18 year olds limit is 16 some say 17. Genuinely ppl are so braindead, no my girl is breaking up with me when she turns 18

Kids should be allowed to write fiction in the schools.

Like every assignment I had growing up was either nonfiction or just “write a personal narrative and change names”

I think creativity should be encouraged, let your students come up with ideas and think through the practicality of them, cause and effect. It can still decent values in kids: think before you speak, think through the consequences of your actions before you act, think about the fact that what you post on social media is permanent etc.

Also, most reading classes aren’t really about any benefit you can only get from nonfiction, it’s about sentence structure and writing skills, which can still be achieved if writing fiction is at the very least an option.

And people saying we need a busload of new STEM graduates, STEM requires critical thinking, being able to think outside the box; a skill you can get from fiction. Being able to think in situations where the answer isn’t obvious, coming up with a solution that’s consistent with previous conditions, are important to tech fields.

Many people think STEM is just about being able to do repetitive tasks without burnout, do 30 calculus problems in a row accurately. It’s about problem solving, and wider critical thinking too.

I spent all my afternoon fixing the Men’s Rights Wikipedia article so it’s truly factual and pro equality. Please help me keep it that way !

Hi, I’ve spent hours fixing the Wikipedia article for Men’s Rights, it was a lot of work.

So, I’m almost certain it well replaced again by feminist propaganda and misandry. So please keep an eye, most importantly take a part of the article (or all the article) that you will responsible of and take a look often in case it has been edited, save what I made and copy it back.

It’s insane, they made us seem like we are “ultra conservative misogynists”, Wikipedia made us look like demons, when we just want equality. Before my edit there were people genuinely un-addressing male su!cide and male sexual victims.

Also if you want to check or add citations, that’s good too.

And if there is misandry on the article it’s not me.

I’m also open to making a group chat just for it, feel free to DM me. Thank you !

Ai makes me want to kill myself

I have lately been feeling so hopeless over the state of the world, and all of this ai crap has finally pushed me over the edge. I was severely suicidal from the ages of 12-19, but through an unimaginable amount of hard work and outside support, i was able to push past those desires, and live a relatively normal life. I can honestly say i haven't felt actively suicidal in years.

Data centres and ai in general has changed that.

It is no longer a passing thought of mine. I am in the active state of wanting to die again, because i honestly can't see a way out of this, into a world i would want to exist in. I don't want to "stick it out" for the 3% chance that things might get better. I am an artist, and my work is stolen. I can't do my job without bosses wanting ai to be put into the workflow. I can't get a new job cause ai runs through all of the résumés and auto rejects. I can't trust anything anymore. I can't trust any new art, or video, or advertisement, etc. the fact that people put ai above our basic human right to water and life is astounding to me.

There is a massive centre being built next to me, and i don't think I'll stick around to see the end of it. And yea i know i know all the reasons people say to stick around. Trust me, i have heard them all before.

But my suicidal ideation was more personal back then. Things i could actually change. I'm not rich and I can't think if any form of change i could start without ending up in trouble. I'm nobody to these oligarchs and i know they want me to die. Makes things easier for them. But i don't realistically see myself making it out of this alive. It's all too much.

I just wanted to share that cause nobody in my real life sees any problem with ai or data centres. I don't understand it. But for me personally, it's big enough a problem that i don't want to handle it anymore.

[EDIT] for those of you telling me to "touch grass" or do a digital detox, I already do that. I am rarely online. I spend hours a day outside. I bike, hike, run, have a garden, have farm animals to take care of. So stop telling me to "put down the phone." Just cause I can ignore the problem doesn't mean I should. Not only that, it doesn't solve the bigger issue either. Ai is everywhere. It is in local and global ads, every assistant is now an ai chatbot instead of a person, people are using it in school. It is not just an online problem anymore

I hate when far leftists say: “Social Democracy works because of exploitation from 3rd world countries” I’ll debunk it here.

If you see radical leftists, almost all of them use this as a magic argument that fully invalidates social democracy, so this argument is an oversimplification and I’ll explain why.

Yes there is a bit of truth, non Marxist socialites often use cheap labor products from other countries, but that’s a tiny part and we can work without it.

Firstly, automation if managed well, can solve that issue and make goods cheaper than any 3rd world country will, we are heading there.

Secondly, and that’s timeless, what makes the west developed, isn’t exploitation, it was developed before it, we have technology, a specific culture, we are *developed* and give emphasis to that world, because we have industries and technology. If all countries have this, which will be feasible in the future, there would be no poverty. Because mass middle-class-hood doesn’t come from exploitation, but it comes from infrastructure, technology, culture and good leadership, yes any country could do it, it’s theoretically possible for all to be like this.

To be clear I’m not idealistic saying this will happen tomorrow, I’m just addressing that’s theoretically possible.

No matter what you think for abortion, radical pro-choice Feminists have never spoke once about circumcision.

Again, that’s not about pro life VS pro choice, that’s about radical feminists caring about bodily autonomy only when it suites them, from a pro choice perspective you believe that an already born person should have autonomy over his body, that’s what pro choicers says, but those feminists only speak about pregnancy, I’ve never seen one speaking up about circumcision.

Because, Feminists never cared about true bodily autonomy, they only care when it fits the narrative, they definitely don’t care about men, they care only for women and even that selectively, because when a woman is pro life or is stay at home, or even just being a mother or dating a man, in their eyes she has done the greatest sin.

Feminists aren’t just irrational, they don’t have basic empathy, they say “men don’t have empathy” (which is false), better to see their own empathy and how irrational and hateful they are.

Instead of (falsely) calling Michael a child abuser, call his dad who is not just a child abuser but a psychopathic monster.

I’m sick of people calling Michael a “child abuser”, all say he is, while it’s a fact there is no actual evidence for it (rather people falsely accusing him to get millions). This is disgusting, he is anything but that.

All hate him, but no one speaks for their father which is proven to be a monster to his children and have traumatized Michael and his children.

His father beated his kids for the smallest reasons, didn’t allow them to call him “dad” and has never regretted his actions. He only cared about money, nothing more. He didn’t care about the well being of his children. And he always seen Michael as a money machine and nothing more, never as a son.

Michael Jackson, beyond music, was a humanitarian, a truly kind person, he genuinely loved the world, the children, people and truly wanted to make an impact (and ofcourse he loved his art), where he walked he wanted people happy. Yes he was rich (deserved and that’s fine), a lot of his money and all his fame was used for good and to spread love to people. He was a truly and deeply kind man that cared beyond money.

But in contrast the father of Michael, he cared only for money, monetizing him (like making perfumes of him when he fired him), and worst of all even sacrificing basic dignities, he never showed empathy to his children he didn’t see them as his children, they were just money assets to be exploited to the end, when Michael DIED he found a way to advertise some startup of his, you can’t call him a father, he was an abusive “businessman”.

People like to all day accusing him sexually abusing children which is depressing and wrong, but never speak for his father who was actually proven to harm his children, unlike Michael who loved them.

And Michael did the right decision, because when he died (rest in peace), he didn’t give him a cent.
