Imagine discriminating based on gender and race… Insane and evil !
reddit.comImagine downplaying literal child spanking, child absue and children rights just because supposedly “animal rights are more important”.
We don’t tell parents of a baby not to let him crawl because it’s a useless phase…!

AI is a powerful tool — for adults who have already made the long, difficult journey of learning to read, think, analyse, and organise their own thoughts. For someone who has done that work, AI can be genuinely useful.
“But if you’re a child and you haven’t been through that lengthy, fibrous, but ultimately joyful journey of learning to do it yourself, then you’ve skipped a crucial part of cognitive development.”
And however many lectures you give teenagers on using AI responsibly as an intellectual sparring partner rather than a shortcut, the reality is predictable:

This isn’t a moral failing. It’s a completely natural biological response to low-effort options. The question is why we keep building systems that set children up to take them.
People who post AI art as their hard work are despicable
I've seen one too many instances of people posting AI fan art or even AI timelapses of them "drawing" in art communities, and asking for support on tipping platforms. Use this image to brand them.
Is my son (Gen Alpha) old enough to use reddit?
Hi, I (41F) have a Generation Alpha son (24 month old) and I'm wondering should I let him use reddit? Do you think he's old enough? He keeps spouting off politics so I was thinking reddit would be a productive use of his time in his busy schedule.
Edit: You all are giving me joking answers, I'm looking for real opinions please. Thank you
Declining birth rates are Mother Nature’s way of self-correcting
As an older Gen Z woman, I think declining birth rates are both good and entirely expected. For much of history, women had limited control over whether they married or became mothers. Now that more women can support themselves and genuinely choose whether parenthood is right for them, fewer are willing to have children under conditions that feel economically unstable, socially unequal, or personally unfulfilling.
I’m 28 and childfree, with four cats, a dog, and a fish. Sometimes I think about the daughters I could theoretically have, and I feel protective of them. Between the cost of living, climate anxiety, political instability, and the unequal expectations still placed on mothers, I don’t feel that bringing them into this world would be an act of love. I love them so much that I will keep them safely inside me.
Maybe falling birth rates aren’t evidence that younger generations are selfish or broken. I think they show the opposite. Maybe they reflect the fact that parenthood is finally becoming a genuine choice, and many people are looking at the world they inherited and deciding the conditions simply aren’t good enough.
They're relics of the past, they just don't know it yet.
It's super frustrating right now, believe me, it makes my blood boil too. But it'll all work out in the end. German has a nice word for people like them: Ewiggestrige. Literally "forever-yesterdayers".
That’s monstrous and immoral ! (On an anti-Natalist subreddit).
Elites have never been gone every single time Socialism has been implemented, Socialists forget this.
I was thinking that, Socialist complain all day for “inequalities” and act like being successful is a “sin” as they usually do, which ofcourse I disagree with that.
My thought was, that in Soviet Union for example the elites were abolished, they were just replaced by the “communist party” elite and Stalin as a fact lived like a very rich man. Same with pre-1978 Maoist China, Mao was a millionaire. On Cuba, same, the Castro family lives very richly. I can say examples for every Socialist country.
Not only all this, but also its worse than on Capitalism, at least on Capitalism the “elites” are talented visionaries, or inherited by one. On socialism it’s some “Socialist” corrupt oligarchs.
Plus, on capitalism you aren’t truly poor, let’s say you can afford a burger and a Netflix subscription, if you are poor under socialism, history shows you work 18 hours on an awful labor job, and eating enough calories is not certain, you wait on a line to get a load of bread.
And for those who will see about Norway, Denmark and etc. these are state capitalist and economic pragmatist countries, maybe with a bit of a mixed economy. This is NOT Socialism, for it to be Socialism by their literal won definition, private sector has to be entirely nonexistent, Scandinavia is Capitalist even if State has a larger role.
Sure, call us radical and evil for saying people owning the means of production is good, instead of being on some false economy dystopia where we are all poor and there is no legacy for anyone beyond Stalin and his friends.
All circle jerks are now just lostredditors
And/or the original sub(s) being jerked have become indistinguishable from the jerk subs.
Its almost like the irony/sincerity spectrum has collapsed in a quantum wavefront which demolished both.
Concrete manifestations of the phenomenon include:
CJ posts which are both sauced and obviously insincere—meaning any vaguely sober Redditor should be able to suss “something ain’t right here”—whose commenters respond earnestly or in good faith, as though it were the main sub
Posts on the main subs for which there are CJs which are fundamentally indistinguishable from the CJ satires.
Jerkers who notice the above two phenomena and who then gleefully start posting their jerks on the main subs, since no one visiting the CJ gets it.
There’s got to be some kind of critical theory term for satire collapse, right?
This is confusion on the deBordian level: what’s even real any more?
