what’s the allegations with 50datab?

Apologies if this isn’t allowed, but I’ve heard a few things about different allegations against 50datab. I haven’t been able to find a good summary/explanation of what they are, and would appreciate if anyone could help :)

What can I do when bored in school?

I’m a high schooler and throughout both high school and middle school, I’ve been pretty bored. I’ve tried to find strategies to work around my boredom, and have had varying success, so I figured since school is starting, I’d ask teachers what they’d prefer students did in class when bored

ive had a notebook and done sudoku, I’ve read (except I’ve had teachers tell me to put my book away WAY too many times), I’ve tried to do work for other classes (most teachers get weirdly upset about this or don’t let me on my Chromebook) and I’m sorry but I don’t want to sit around for hours bored out of my mind 😭

and no, I can’t switch to harder/more advanced classes and I already am in harder classes. My teachers genuinely won’t always let me read or accommodate me by letting me listen to music to be less bored, or read or work on other things, like debate stuff. so anything you can think of that you’d let students do in class if they’re bored would be very appreciated. I’ve noticed that I usually need some kind of mental stimulation by doing *something* (fidgets don’t help) and it’s not like we’re always taking notes 😭 so…yeah! Any help would be great. Sudoku gets boring after you’re on your fifth puzzle of the class period 🥲 (also, does the tag ‘student questions’ mean it’s from a student or about students?? maybe I’m just stupid 😭)

Finally found it

I’ve only seen this flavor twice, so I was pretty happy to finally get my hands on it. Also got some vice guava because I have to get up at three for a flight later this week 🥲

Should I ask my mom for $20 from the mall?

I’m the oldest kid in my family (15M) and for context, I have a brother (13M). we are both very different, in terms of our interests and how we dress. One thing I’ve noticed is that he goes through a lot of socks, and often destroys them, gets them very dirty, or easily gets holes in them. I don’t think I’ve ever worn a sock until there’s a hole before in my life

today, my mom was packing his stuff for our trip (he broke his foot and uses crutches to get around, which makes it a bit more difficult to pack his bag. We are also leaving in a few days, and he was gone all day so I suppose she was just trying to get it done) and I noticed she had a pack of Nike socks that she had just bought him. he only wears Nike socks, and they’re $22 for 6 pairs. (No idea if this is good or overpriced for socks). She usually buys another one every few months because he wears through them often. He didn’t currently need new socks, and still had plenty that worked and weren’t in need of replacement. I knew I would be going to the mall, and asked if I could have twenty dollars to possibly purchase a new shirt/pair of shorts for our trip, or for a book for the trip. I don’t ask for money that often, and i tried to explain that he didn’t even need new socks (true, he had several cleanish pairs on the floor without holes) so if she was willing to spend it on him, id appreciate it if she’d spend a little on me too

I didn’t get an answer, and I don’t want to sound spoiled or anything but should I bring it up again and ask for $20? I can think of so many things I’d love to buy, but i don’t want her getting upset or whatever. Idk, just wanted to see what others think and if this would be weird or not. Idk why I’m overreacting, and I’m well aware this is an overreaction so please don’t bother commenting things like that.

for a little bit of additional context and why I’m nervous for no reason: I have about $575 saved up from helping my neighbors. I’m trying to save for a car/college/computer/things I need in life, and I try not to spend things on random items. My parents often weaponize this and tell me that “I have money so you shouldn’t be asking for money to go out and eat with friends” or something along those lines. I try not to, but it feels slightly unfair to me because I don’t have a job and can’t get one where I live. Those $575 are my entire life savings, basically. I also don’t ask for money for clothes often - last I can remember off the top of my head was a pair of shorts two months ago from old navy, and about $5 worth of clothes in total from goodwill. i have tried very hard to get a job, and can’t find anyone near me that’s willing to hire under 16. We are well off enough where $20 isn’t a huge deal, so that isn’t why I’m worried about them saying no. Any help is appreciated, posted this last night but wanted to see what others think :)

Why can’t we just let people have dysphoria?

I feel like it’s so hard to have an actual discussion about dysphoria based off two things - “others have it worse” and “you shouldn’t be dysphoric about that”

ive seen posts before from people talking about how their height makes them dysphoric, or their ____ literally anything that makes them dysphoric, and I go to the replies and it’s all “you’re 5’6? you should be lucky and happy, I’m 5’2.” I’m sorry, what? What gives you the right to judge whether or not someone’s allowed to be dysphoric about something? if he wants to be dysphoric about his height, let him. someone’s post isn’t an excuse for you to complain about *your* dysphoria. im sure a lot of us wish we could be 6’2!

And to the people who reply to posts saying “but there’s cis men who ___” or “me too but I learned to get over it“ a lot of people with such intense dysphoria are teens who can’t transition. Just because *you* accepted yourself doesn’t mean they have. And that’s the entire fucking issue - I’m not a cis man, I never will be, and I’m at a huge disadvantage when it comes to looking like a man! So maybe, just maybe, I want to take everything I can get to look more like one and be taller

and then the amount of people I hear saying ”you’re larping” masculinity or saying “you shouldn’t be dysphoric about ____“ genuinely confuse me. yeah, people have different amounts of dysphoria. Some feel more dysphoric about their body, some it’s just other people calling them fem, and for some people it’s everything/a mix of both. I personally feel dysphoric about every fucking little thing. My nails, my legs, my feet, my neck, my voice, my hair, my ears - EVERYTHING. that doesn’t make me more or less valid than someone else, that’s just the cards I’ve been dealt. But if I make a post because my handwriting makes me dysphoric, or my mannerisms, or my room - all of a sudden I’m larping masculinity? All of a sudden I’m just faking it and I shouldn’t be dysphoric about those things? Dude, I DONT WANT TO BE. But I am, and god forbid I try to seek some form of help or reassurance in my own fucking community.

tldr: let people be dysphoric about things no matter how stupid. I didn’t, nor did others, choose to be dysphoric about them

how to solve mysterys?

Maybe I’m just crazy stupid, but 90% of the mystery caches near me feel impossible to complete. I understand they’re supposed to be more difficult, but it gets to a point 😭 does anyone have any tips on what to look out for/how to solve harder caches? I feel so lost, and I really want to get better but have no idea how to do so.

One AirPod won’t work?

I thrifted a pair of AirPods (gen 2) accidentally a year ago, and they’ve worked pretty well since. I cleaned them, and I’ve had no issues.

Out of the blue, my left AirPod won’t work. If I put it I my ear, I’m unable to hear anything. I have to turn it up really loud, and then I just hear it because it’s too loud. (if that makes any sense. Like when you turn the volume up and you can hear it with the AirPod away from you) If I put it in my other ear, I can kinda hear it. I don’t think it’s earwax because it’s clean, nor would I assume it’s damaged. the worse that’s happened was going through the washing machine, but that was months ago and it got to be in rice for a while.

i also thought it could be an issue with my ear, but I had others try and they couldn’t hear it either. What can I do to fix this? The balance isn’t off either, and they should be playing sound at the right levels. Its fully charged and has never done this before, and I’m stuck on what to do next

Do kids actually have weird names?

I’ve seen so many people joking about how younger kids nowadays have really weird or unusual names that you wouldn’t find a baby name book. Is this true, or overdramtized? If it is true, I’d love to hear the weirdest name you’ve ever heard as a teacher

what to do about my friend who might be faking?

I have two friends - Riley and Leo. Riley has tics (I don’t remember why/what it’s a symptom of but it’s the only one he has, and isn’t torette), and he’ll sometimes hit his chest. no one thinks twice of it, but recently, Leo has been acting weird about it. right after riley tics, he‘ll violently jolt his whole body or make a weird noise. At first, I thought he was just being weird or something, but then I noticed it was a trend. It only happened after Riley ticked, and I had never seen him do it before.

i talked with Riley, and he brought it up and had arrived at the same conclusion as me. Leo has been diagnosing himself with a lot of things, and we both think this is either his way of looking for attention, or he’s trying to mock Riley. he’s very attention seeking, so I wouldn’t be surprised

im not trying hate on self diagnosis, just trying to put this into perspective. He hasnt been diagnosed with anything, it’s just that for the past year all of a sudden it’s all he talks about. I understand this could genuinely be him having tics, but I think it’s odd that they’d randomly start one day and only be after Riley tics. it feels offensive to me, and Riley and I have been debating talking to him about it because it feels more like he’s making a mockery of this than it being a coincidence

do you think more people would be vegan if we weren’t so desensitized to violence?

hey, this is just a small theory of mine, and I wanted to see what others think

it’s very obvious that especially among the newer generation, people are often exposed to things early on, or exposed to something enough that it doesn’t create the shock that it should anymore. studies have shown that when repeatedly exposed to something as a kid, it lowers their emotional, physical, and psychological response to things. for example, constantly hearing about wars and death from news outlets or social media may normalize it. If someone said “yeah, three soldiers died in the war”, I, someone who’s more desensitized to violence would simply react with “okay? There’s 8 billion people” at first thought because while it is true, that’s still three lives either taken by another persons hand, or by fire from a bomb, or something. Three seems like a small number until you zoom out and think about how many people care, and the greater effect those three deaths will have

now, lets look at this in regard to veganism. I’m 16, and despite watching videos about what animals go through, while I did find it disgusting and disturbing, it wasn’t enough to get me to fully want to be vegan. It’s not just cognitive dissonance, it’s because I can look at that and the impact it would have on others is diminished for me, because I’m so used to violence. I truly think so many other people, especially ones my age would be more likely to be vegan if we didn’t spend so much time online with negativity.

if you disagree or think it’s just cognitive dissonance/low empathy, I could see where you’re coming from and I’d love to hear your thoughts. I’m sure those two also factor into it, but these are just my thoughts, and I wanted to see if others agree :)

should I actually be worrying?

Hey, the more I’ve gotten into nutrition, the more anxious I get when eating. I’m always checking the packages, and feel uncertain about having something if it has 10%+ of my daily value for anything, because I don’t want to go over. For example, I had two hard boiled eggs for breakfast this morning, and got worried about the amount of cholesterol that would be. Is this a good thing to worry about, or do I need to reframe how I’m looking at nutrition? Any advice, tips, or guidelines is appreciated :)

I hate being in the US when it comes to CRK

Oh, I want to purchase some merch? Too bad, the $18 keychain has $17 shipping. Like, dude I’m unemployed I don’t have that kind of money 😭 id love to support devsisters but it’s not sustainable for a lot of their fans. shipping is almost always $15+ and since it’s too expensive for me, I have to go to places like Etsy to get merch. I’m happy to support others, just wish I could support them too, you know?

anyways thanks for coming to my mini Ted talk. The only thing I can afford is braverse cards 🥲 (I’ve low key been collecting too, but it’s hard to find cheaper ones)

help describing geocaches?

Apologies, I know this is a bit of a stupid post :) I’ve been geocaching almost my entire life (16) and despite that, no one in my family has placed a cache. Even if I don’t have as many caches found as my parents (60 vs 1040…I started my account not too long ago, but I’ll get there one day! Got to 60 last night :D) my plan to one up them is to place a cache before them

the only issue is, I have no idea how to explain geocaching to others. I planned on emailing the owner of the place I’d like to put it at, but I struggle to describe what geocaching is/how it works, etc. I’m worried they’ll take it wrong, because saying “I put a container on your property and people look around to find it” sounds weird at first, lol. Any tips on how to ask others to place a cache on their property? Thank you!

actual passing tips (male) pre everything?

I’ve been trying very hard to pass for the last several years, and I’ve slowly grown out of a really bad alt phase, and another where I’d only wear quirky button up shirts (Dino, stars…just anything with a pattern). Does anyone have any actual suggestions when it comes to passing/going stealth that aren’t “it’s okay if you have long hair!1! boys can do that too so you’ll be fine!”

what am I supposed to have for breakfast??

hey, I’m a high schooler (16FTM, 115 pounds) and I’ve been on a kick of just not having breakfast and instead drinking an energy drink (sugar free) and having some gum to suppress my appetite. It’s not >!an ed!<, I just don’t like most breakfast foods and so I just end up not having anything. I’ve been wanting to get better eating habits, and was looking for some tips

what would you recommend for balanced, healthy breakfasts? it feels like I’m always hungry after eating, but if I don’t eat then I end up getting hungry around 10 and I feel like then I’m overeating. I don’t know what’s considered a normal portion anymore, and I’m just tired of it all. so, any breakfast ideas are appreciated :) thanks!

how to stop freaking out over small things

Stupid generic title, but I didn’t know how else to title this :) I think this post is allowed, so I’m very sorry if it’s not! I’m not 100% what could be triggering or not, so I suppose just a general warning? I don’t think there’s anything too bad tho, it’s sort of a vent in the sense that I talk about how I feel

im a high schooler and I have realized overtime that I tend to overreact over the smallest things. I’m not sure if it’s anxiety, or a manifestation based off what I’ve gone through. In 8th grade, I had a few friends stop talking to me without any reason (people I’ve known since 1st grade) and this left me in a state of panic for weeks. I would have constant stomach aches and struggle to eat. This has continued as a theme as I’ve grown older, whenever I get slightly nervous I get a stomachache

its begun to put a strain on my friendships, because the smallest things will make me freak out. I had a friend who started talking to me all the time, and then he suddenly stopped again. Because of what had happened the year before, I freaked out and no matter how I tried to think logically about it (”just because he’s not talking to you as much doesn’t mean he hates you”, “he’s probably just busy”, etc) the worry and stomachaches still persisted. this would lead to me talking to my friends often, asking if i had done something wrong. I can very easily enter a spiral of self hatred based off someone getting upset - for example, a girl I knew was freaking out at camp. its complicated, but I said something and since she was upset, she snapped at me and said “no” in a harsh tone. I know it’s so fucking stupid, but I started crying because I entered a spiral because I was trying to help, and felt stupid because I hadn’t helped right

Does anyone have any advice as to how to talk yourself out of this? I understand this is solely an issue I have and it’s not my friends, so I want to figure out how to stop my stomachaches and panic before I accidentally make it my friends problem :/

I passed today and got my transphobic brother to admit I’m a guy

Didn’t technically get him to admit it to my face, but it did happen today. We were at a store together, and I walked away. A lady came up and asked “is that your brother” and since it’s kinda complicated to explain to a stranger that I’m his ‘extremely masculine sister’ (…not true though), he just said “yeah that’s my brother”

idk, just wanted to share the story. hope y’all have a great day :)
