Since part 1 was such a smash hit, here is part 2. At last I received my custom radar mount from Amazon for my R8w. Put It all together and on my first trip I detected my first piggy being very conspicuous with his lights on. Great, I know this thing works. I understand that having a high-end radar and Waze doesn't mean I can rip through the streets with impunity but the odds are definitely more in my favor. I will never know if this radar I got would have prevented my first speeding ticket because I can't know if the trooper popped me with a LiDAR gun or a radar. I would need a laser jammer to get that full, maximum protection from LiDAR but they are illegal in Texas and also very expensive. I have to say, it gives me another level of confidence being on the road and having this newfound awareness of what's happening on the road.

It's my first time using a radar detector. I have been driving for about 5 years now and I finally got my first speeding ticket. Following that, I decided to go with the best, the uniden R8w. Let me know all your tips and tricks for using this thing.

You get three screens facing you and a handle for your passenger to hold on to when you're pulling g's (hopefully not on the street). You can program the dash to show your current horsepower/torque output. You have an entire computer to your right with a sizable screen and a smaller screen to your left to keep an eye on all your cars vitals with a single swipe. WHAT? Tell me about a sport/supercar that has all this. To top it off, Corvette is the "budget" option. The Kirkland Signature supercar if you will. Chevy has perfected the C8 platform with this interior refresh and truly has something for every car enthusiast from the Stingray all the way to the ZR1x.

By the way, if you happen to own a 2026 model Corvette and are interested in changing the left widget in your dash, I would direct you to a YouTube short I published telling you exactly how to do that. Unfortunately, the user manual will not tell you.

What the hell kind of packaging is this? It's like it was designed NOT to be opened. I know Harbor Freight is known for hard-to-open packages but this one was on another level. It took me 10 minutes of wrestling with my pliers and now I have a plastic mess to clean up. Damn it.

I recorded a vlog style video at a car show in Arlington, Texas. I was shocked to find a C8 ZR1 there and even more shocked that the ZR1 also had to get its valve body replaced. Mine got replaced at 4k miles and the ZR1 at 1k. What's wrong with these C8 valve bodies coming from the factory? Anyways, enjoy the video and I would appreciate your feedback.

Yes, everything ended up going well. $2,070 OTD to get a full set of brand new Michelin A/S plus tires and the manager agreed to deliver my old tires to my house.
