When is a buyout usually paid?

It says a flair is required but I see no options in the dropdown.

I worked on a gig late February. Received session fee late March. Saw it aired by mid-April. Now it's mid-late May. When should I be receiving the buyout paystub? I contacted the producer last week, followed up this week and haven't heard back. Is there a protocol for non-union gigs if producers don't respond in good time?

Prenuvo vs SimonMed

I was thinking of doing the Executive package at Prenuvo which adds advanced brain health assessment (via NeuroQuant), MRI body composition analysis, and blood panels onto their core. I don't care as much about the latter two at this time but I'm interested in the advanced brain health portion which is supposedly more detailed than the brain scan in their core whole body package (which I did a few years ago).

As far as I'm aware, for SimonMed's whole-body MRI, the "brain health" part is equivalent to Prenuvo's core, i.e. no NeuroQuant. SimonMed is 3T (more detail but potentially more artifacts) vs Prenuvo 1.5T.

Any other comparison points to note?

How do I stop "You've received a Business Manager partner request" phishing/spam emails that are going to an email address I had unlinked from all Meta accounts years ago?

This is related to the Threads app because I have my Threads account linked to my Meta Business Suite.

I am receiving "You've received a Business Manager partner request" emails multiple times daily that are obviously phishing/fraud/spam. They don't appear in Requests or seemingly anywhere in the Meta Business Suite. Even stranger, they are going to an email address that is currently not linked to any of my Meta accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Threads, etc); it seems I previously had that email address on my Instagram but in 2024 had changed it to another. In Notification Settings in the Suite, I had disabled "Business permissions" which involves receiving "notifications when another business requests permission to access your assets", where it shows my current email address, not the one no longer linked. I want to receive emails related to the Suite that I actually opted into, not these. So do I need to set specific email filters targeting these emails only, or is there a way via the Suite settings to stop these spammy emails?

DETAILS: A message in an E2EE group chat got stuck on Sending after edit (tried reopening app, restarting phone, clearing cache, logging back in, turning on unrestricted battery use), and when I Deleted for Everyone, it didn't delete for others. Then someone else in the group confirmed they were encountering the same issue on their own messages.

If you're encountering this issue, I suggest reporting to Messenger so more likely fixed (supposedly).

This is what happens when developers use AI to code.

Edit: After the bug continued I reinstalled Messenger, then Deleted for Everyone again, which worked. However, it seems the Sending bug is still there but at least reinstalling may allow those messages to be deleted for everyone.

I lost the cap to Sensodyne Pronamel Intensive Enamel Repair Whitening Arctic Breeze. It's a pretty huge cap although the opening seems normal-sized. So I wrapped the toothpaste bottle in brown paper bags (prefer this to plastic wrap). No rubberbands etc. Is this hygienic and enough to keep it fresh?

I applied to become an REI affiliate. I've bought many items from them in the past and have a post or two recommending their items on socials. I was going to convert the product links on these posts into referral links after I became an affiliate. But over a month after applying, I finally got a response saying my application was denied for reasons such as but not limited to:

  • We were unable to access and review your web site. (N/A)
  • Your site is in a category that REI does not want to be associated with, or is not relevant to our product assortment. (So I post about different things, why is this a problem?)
  • The traffic level to your web site is too low. (I have thousands of followers on socials and get traffic as per Google Analytics, and a referral is a referral - a sale they would've otherwise maybe not happened - why is this an issue?)
  • There is inappropriate material on your site. (N/A)
  • Your site contains heavy hunting or guns/weapon related content. (N/A)
  • You sell potentially competing products on your web site. (See response to bullet 3 above)
  • At this time, we are not accepting any coupon / cash-back related sites. (N/A)

So this is what I don't understand. They're not paying me simply to be an affiliate. I just get a small commission if they get a sale through my referral link, as I should because the referral link helped achieve that sale. Why does it matter if traffic is not huge, or if I post about different topics, or if I post about competitors? In rejecting my affiliation contract they would simply be losing out on any potential sales through my avenues, and makes me not want to buy from REI, so overall it seems to hurt their business (yes, a negligible amount, but multiply that by everyone who was denied, which I can only assume is the vast majority of applicants).

Same goes with other companies that restrict affiliate linking, like Amazon. iHerb does it right.

Sibling died suddenly in 30s and was cremated. Before they died, parents apparently requested DNA testing (for genetic predisposition to disease/disorders) but they said NHS denied the request. Our family are dual US/UK citizens, except sibling who was just a US citizen with indefinite leave to remain in UK. Sibling was autopsied in the UK.

Autopsy has blood and urine samples but coroner confirmed they won't genetically test these. If any samples remain after the investigation concludes later this year, they will be released to us and storage/transport/testing would be up to us.

In the house, we found deceased sibling's hair in a shower cap and their toenail they ripped off, which we've been keeping in tubes in a freezer. My other sibling, who collected them, didn't always use tweezers/gloves and may have contaminated the samples with own DNA.

I found some services that do post-mortem genetic testing, or at least gave that impression. I contacted them, most replied. Long story short, blood and urine from autopsy probably good for testing, but recommended to "work through NHS" for proper storage/transport. Hair may be okay only if follicle still attached (doesn't seem so).

My other sibling and I have already been genetically tested, but we're curious as to any similarities or differences in our dead sibling's DNA that may have predisposed them to certain conditions (including mental/neurological). We're interested in an exploratory framework covering multiple categories (like what 23andMe or TellmeGen do, but ideally more accurate/reliable than D2C), ideally whole-genome sequencing, instead of targeted or clinically driven (e.g. not just cardiogenetics, pharmacogenomics, or metabolic conditions), which most or all of the post-mortem services I contacted seemed limited to offering.

Questions:

  1. What is the best way (contact avenue, etc) to liaise with the NHS for storage/transport/testing of the autopsy blood/urine samples (given NHS reportedly denied request to genetically test when sibling was alive)?
  2. If storing/transporting autopsy blood and urine samples ourselves, what should we do to keep samples viable for testing?
  3. Which post-mortem testing services in the US/UK are more open to a wide exploratory framework (as described above) and/or whole genome sequencing?
