What would go along nicely with plain old earth texture?

I am very much a begginer and I struggle to come up with ideas for something to add to my AK Dark Earth to make it look less... bland? I don't need much, just some terrain to put an artillery piece in, but I've been wondering if something better can be achieved idk, like grass or rocks or something...?

Also, if someone could tell me what's the deal with PVA glue? Every terrain video I can find on YT is using that stuff, how is better than anything else

Why are like half normal male hobbies now considered "autistic" ?

You like modelling? Autistic

You play strategy games? Autistic

You are interested in any type of vehicles, sea, land, air or space? Autistic

You like history? Autistic

Interested in politics? Autistic

Board games? Autistic

I'll end the list here coz you get the point. Things that, even very recently because I remember it, were considered typical male hobbies, are now considered a symptom of autism even though they are very common hobbies and interests. It's so weird to hear a whole community describe itself as autistic solely because they like a video game of a particular type. What is up with that? Does like a quarter of humanity have autism? Why are so many things now considered abnormal even though until very recently they were seen as completely typical activities and interests?

How is the Tau empire actually expanding, how does this process impact them?

So, this question really has two parts

One, how do they expand? Do they seek out uncolonised planets that are habitable and settle them? Do they terraform worlds? When they conquer a say imperial world, do they introduce Tau colonists?

Second, how does the Empire cope with expansion? How are their communication networks? If I remember correctly they use non-warp FTL thats slower than actual warp travel, so is expansion not making it harder for them to control their worlds? Also importantly, what about all the new races they have in their empire now? Are any of them causing trouble? What about humans? Do they make a significant portion of the population? Is this a problem? What about psykers, do the Tau worry about these? Do psykers not cause issues with demonic invasions, etc.? Do Tau struggle with chaotic cults now?

Does opening a window help when the room is very hot?

Recently I came into a room that was *incredibly* hot (much warmer than the outside), and stuffy, all the windows were closed. I opened one, and a person in that room told me "you know that won't work? All you're doing is letting hot air in" and I was completely stunned, unable to understand what the hell is the guy talking about. But they were absolutely serious and explained that essentially that person believed that opening a window magically doesn't work and it can only increase a room's temperature?

I feel like I know the answer, but since the guy spoke of this with absolute conviction I figured I gotta at least make sure if he's crazy or if I have missed an incredibly important bit of how the world works.

Will hamster being given a hideout make it harder to tame?

So... My friend bought a hamster and the pet store guy told him to not give him a hideout for a week or otherwise "he will hide there" and that will make the hamster harder to tame.

I told him that this is stupid and a hamster must have a hideout or it will be stressed out, but just to be sure... Am I wrong? I never heard of such a thing before but I'd hate to hand out bad advice

Syrian hamster size needs

So, I have a small question, my friend bought a syrian hamster, and the hamsters enclousure (cage) is 70x40 centimetres (thats 28x16 inches). I don't know anything about syrian hamsters but it struck me as very small for a syrian hamster... I'm kind of angry at them for buying it, do I have a reason to? What size of a cage does that kind of creature need?

Did anyone else notice Harry Turtledove's Polonophobia?

I've been reading through some of his works and the way he writes about Poland and polish people stands out from the way he writes about anything else and it's kind of baffling for a guy from the US to have issues with Poland specifically and yet... He paints Poland as a backwards country where people hate jews perhaps even more than the nazis do, for some reason? I'll name some examples below but my memory might be spotty

In worldwar, Turtledove through a Jewish character describes the leader of Polish Home Army, an anti nazi resistance, as "just as much of a fascist as Heinrich Himmler" . Also in that book, the polish home army is seemingly very unhappy that the Jews have guns as well and they scorn them for supporting the aliens even though Poles have the exact same reasons to be happy about alien control of Poland as the Jews do

Though war that came early is much worse in regards to Poland

I only read two books of it so far, but within these books he incorrectly assigns the leadership of Poland to a different person, and he writes that polish cavalry attempts (obviously disastrous) cavalry charges

Not only that, he even writes that the Polish army, in world war two, uses lancers! I mean this is what Goebbels would tell you, this is information from actual nazi propaganda as far as I can tell.

So far the only Polish person to have direct dialogue proclaims that Hitler is better than Stalin because the USSR is full of jews and hates the Church

Generally speaking polish people are very hard to notice in his work, and in worldwar, where scenes take place in Poland barely any polish people talk, I only recall one guy who had dialogue only to call the POV character a kike and proclaimed his desire to cleanse Poland of Jews

Oh there's also a mechanic but all he does is comically boast to a female pilot about his abilities and then does nothing because he can't fix a plane

I mean it's just very strange that a guy writing alternative history in this time period and in places that he does seemingly wants to avoid writing anything about Poland and seems to regard the country as some XIX century era III Reich

I figured I'd post here and see if someone can offer me their opinion on the subject

How do I learn this game

I bought the game on sale, loaded into a game, got shot 4 times without ever seeing the enemy once, and that was my playtime so far.

I did not have fun, honestly. I know youre supposed to communicate but it's hard to find a random squad where people would communicate with you, so I didn't really do that, I just tried to get to an objective, and got shot

How do I actually play this game?

I feel like a whole year just happened to me and I didn't notice

Never posted on such a subreddit so I'm sorry if this isn't interesting to read but

I'm at a university, second year, and I'm really getting into studying for my exams now and I realised that I don't really remember much from classes. Which on it's own would be quite alright, but after giving it some thought I noticed I don't remember much of what happened to me this year at all. I don't really remember where I've been, what I've seen, who I talked to and what about, etc.

I can get some specific details back into my head if I focus but it dawned on me that give or take a year basically just happened to me as if it was in the background.

I imagine that the fact that I'm depressed contributed to this, most of the days I drag myself out of bed, go to school, come back, repeat.

I'm not even sure if I feel like I'm alive, time flies so fast and I don't even really notice. It worries me a lot. Life is kinda flying by and I dont really know how to slow it down

So, what exactly is the show's message?

You see, after finally watching the final episode, which I was certain will be bad, but I did anyway to get it over with, I am still a little shocked.

I could now write a lenghty essay about everything that went wrong with this episode, this season, this show, but I just wanted to ask you all:

What is the message?

Let's focus on Butcher and the ending. Butcher, despite hints to the contrary, didn't really do anything worse than you would expect from the man in like season one. As his reward for leading the boys to victory, he gets:

- Told by his sort-of-son that he is very evil

- Dead dog

- Shot by his best friend

All that for, according to the shows own stakes, saving the world *and* wanting to ensure nothing like Homelander happens again.

So what exactly is the message? To be cold blooded? If Butcher had a gun and shot Hughie, he would have won. He didn't, and so he died, is that the message? Is this supposed to be a bad ending?

Maybe the message is that you should return to the status quo that created the evil you fought? That's basically how Harry Potter ended, but I'm not sure if The Boys aimed to be like Harry Potter?

Because I seriously do not understand the show's message. Like, fucking Stan Edgar is back to lead Vought? After all this, we are back to season 1, essentially, with him running Vought. How did that end? Time and time again, the show did it's best to communicate to us that:

- Vought is an evil company

- Superheroes are some of the worst people on the planet

Even the comparably tame Soldier Boy was an absolute violent asshole who was nearly indestructible, but we are supposed that 3rd time's the charm and Vought will now built a proper goodie Superman?

I don't understand what happened. Like, I get that they wrote themselves into a corner with accidentally making it so a "genoicide" (I don't know if the term even applies) would be the objectively correct choice, but they seemingly didn't even try to do anything else? In the end, our so called heroes managed to return Stan Edgar to his position as the superhero company boss. What was the point, what exactly is this supposed to mean? What is the shows message?????

I invite everyone to please, share your thoughts and maybe try and explain what exactly are we supposed to feel after this.

What countries are being worked on?

I was wondering if we have any idea where the focus of the mod team is on

Personally I'd love for the ice dragons and dread league to get content/rework, but I have a sneaking suspicion thats never happening

I was watching MLP with my mother back when I was like... 10 but never really got to see how it ends, still it made me many happy memories and I recently thought that it would be fun to see the whole thing by now

But it's a lot of a show, it has lots of episodes and well... I suppose not all of them are all that important for the story? Is there a way for me to know which episodes I could just skip?
