What I mean is, things like make us commit to a single Daedric prince, if we offer up our soul to one daedric prince, like Hircine, don’t let us offer it up to another
Make guilds have beef between each other, if you join the Mages Guild, whom might be having issues with the fighters guild, make it so we can’t join the fighters guild or vice versa
Maybe not the best examples but it would make roleplay and choices matter that much more
It seems like one of the most cruel acts from a mortal species in the entire series, I mean to take in a vulnerable war torn group that is trusting you with their lives, just to blind them and alter their minds permanently, all seemingly for shits and giggles seems cartoonishly evil
Some might disagree but I most definitely think SPM displays cosmic horror influences with its main villain and world destruction
I’m wondering if any other game in the series does something similar
An ancient, usually eldritch, and likely alien construct is found in the middle of nowhere, greater context is usually never given
The Monolith: 2001 a space odyssey - a mathematically perfect monolith in the middle of the desert, the conduit of evolution for humanity, meant to guide us to transcendence, a pretty rare non malicious example of the trope
City of the Elder Things: At the Mountains of Madness - a (mostly) abandoned alien city in Antarctica inhabited by recently resurrected creatures known as Elder Things
Darkness Incarnate: Fable 3 - a very rare fantasy example of this trope, the Hero and his mentor stumble across a long abandoned dark tomb with alien architecture and unknown magic, thinking it long abandoned they journey deeper in search of an exit only to awaken, you guessed it, Darkness Incarnate, this releases the apocalypse
Genuinely this is the most baffling decision the series has made to me, more than limited combat items, more than the loss of characterisation, and even a bit more than the loss of story (slowly recovering with OK at least)
Why make it so that fighting is a punishment that drains resources with no actual reward? Coins are so over abundant in the new games that they aren’t a reward, confetti, paint, and stickers aren’t a good reward, something permanent like levels is what is needed
It really feels like a runner up for most useless perk
For those that don’t know, native PC ports are amazing, better than emulators for a few reasons
Increased frame rate, which you can’t do on most old Nintendo games through an emulator
Native wide screen and mod support
Tons of QOL and cheats, for those that want them
And many more
I’ll go against the grain and say, I don’t think TTYD should be next, it still holds up well, has a remake, and is even 60 FPS on the GameCube already
I think SPM could benefit the most as it’s held back by a lot and could use a lot of QOL, such as quick switch and more buttons than were possible with the Wii remote
Your thoughts?
Maybe it’s the power of a dedicated fan base but I’m just curious, this game has mods that add new mechanics, new quests, entirely new classes, new areas, all with no official mod support
Then you have other AAA games that have barely anything besides tweaks years after release, it just baffles me a bit, not that I’m complaining
This isn’t even a joke question I’m genuinely curious, you’ll have someone in a town with red eyes, pale dead skin, and 8 inch fangs, and the townsman right next to them talking about vampire menaces doesn’t even notice they’re 100% vampire neighbor who probably has a coffin for a bed
I know the series has shown us good or neutral vampires, such as the count of skingrad or Serena, so we know vampirism doesn’t force you to be evil, but does it inflict you with a heightened sense of sadism or a need to be cruel that you have to fight against? Sort of like paarthurnax and his urge to dominate? Or are you still 100% you?
