Nearly American bully parents!

Hi all!

We’re in the process of rescuing a sweet American bulldog girl.

It’s looking like they’ll pick us, and they’ve taken her off the website after we went to see her yesterday and today.

Just wondering what do you feed your bullies and how much, quantities and how often in a day?

We want to give her the best diet, probably will be eating better than us lol.

She’s already an older girl, at 6 years old. The shelter said she’ll eat anything, and as it’s a shelter they rely on tinned food donations and kibble.

We want to give her veggies and meats and see how she gets on.

Any advice is much appreciated, as new dog parents! (We’ve had family dogs growing up but this is our first dog together)

I think the moon is really affecting me!?

I've been feeling extremely anxious for the past 4 days. I can't take a satisfying breath, I feel tired (not enough sleep), today I feel like I'm dissociating as well. It feels like there's someone sat on my chest and won't move. I feel like I need to cry, but physically can't cry. I don't feel like making myself cry. I'm angry and feel restless like I should be doing something.

I moved into a new property last month so it's been a little manic but it's not really been 'stressful'. I have OCD so I'm usually stressed daily anyway.

Saw this on a website about the moon and it's really interesting to read.

"You may feel torn between caring for yourself or others and making bold moves like changing jobs or staying in your comfort zone. Emotionally, this can manifest as fatigue, anxiety, old wounds resurfacing, sleep issues, trouble concentrating, or just feeling off. But this friction is here to help you slow down, listen to yourself, and gain clarity."

Just don't know how long these feelings will last! I'm also just coming off my period as well. Usually I get the anxiety a couple of days before my period, but I was fine this time.

Is this safe?

I don’t like how the copper is showing on the right. Is this safe?
I posted the other day about the plug showing the wires and people told me to re wire it.
My other half just pushed the black wire inside under the plastic clear thing.
He said it’s fine but I want to double check.
This is the plug for the gas stove

Edit: just to clarify, my partner didn’t wire this, it was already like this when we moved. The only thing he did was push the black cable in so the wires weren’t exposed.

Thanks for all of the useful advice! :)

Edit: It's a NEFF gas stove, and from what I can find online, it uses 13A fuse.

Exposed wires?

Bought a house and in the kitchen cabinet the wire/plug for the gas cooker (comes through a small cut out hole in the cabinet) has exposed wires.

Is this dangerous? I’ve been using it so turning it on and off as and when required. Is it easily fixable so we don’t have to rip the cabinet out? Thanks so much

Edit: Thank you everyone for the responses - I'll get my other half to look at this, just wanted some opinions first and you all were a great help! :D

Facebook business page - page visibility link not working? Anyone else with the same issue?

When I click on page visibility under settings (on the app) on the business page, it takes me to my feed and says there’s an error/link is broken or removed.

What’s up with that? 🤔 anyone else with the same issue?

Guest WiFi - YouFibre

Changing the guest WiFi settings and it won’t let me disable WPS?
It’s disabled on the main WiFi area and the light is off for WPS on the actual router.

Edit: also I changed the admin login details and it wouldn’t let me back in the router again after more than 10 attempts.. then it finally worked? Anyone else had this issue?

ELI5 - Can a modified firestick harm smart tv?

Samsung smart TV - my boyfriend's brother connected a modified fire stick to the TV a couple of years back.

Since then, we've moved the TV to our new home, so different WiFi, and the stick wasn't used again since that time, as we haven't been back to that house to actually use the TV (he's been living with me).

I don't know if you can run an antivirus scan on the TV, I've searched everything on it and can't seem to find one. I did a software update on it last night, and I've put it on the guest WiFi as a precaution.

Any advise?

Removing WiFi

I am in the process of moving, so I've changed my address on the Alexa app (for weather updates etc).

How do I remove the WiFi network before I move? There's no option to remove the WiFi, just an option to connect to a different one and I don't want to deregister the device.

I will reset the router anyway before I leave.. is removing the WiFi necessary?

I'm not a tech expert so just trying to figure out what I need to do before I move it to a different location.

Edit: I also don't do anything fancy on it like have smart devices like bulbs etc. I just use it for the weather and music lol.

Update: Yeah it was so easy setting up a new WiFi. Kept all my settings!

Router settings question

Bit of an odd one.

I have hyperoptic at the flat I’m at, and I changed the WiFi password when I moved in.
I’m moving out, so I’m going to change the WiFi password when I leave, but I was wondering - will the next person be able to see essentially my settings on the router and previous devices connected to the network etc? Will I need to send the router to hyperoptic or what? Because the router was already here when I moved in so I didn’t have to request anything new.

EPH Control

I recently moved to a new house, where the previous owners had the pictured EPH controls installed.

The little screen to control the heating has the WiFi symbol on.

I don't understand if this means it's connected to WiFi, or if it means it's connected to the EPH control via their own 'network'? But how is it doing this?

As we've not had internet set up.

Does it mean the previous owners are still somehow set up on it? I'm very confused!

New YouFibre customer

New YouFibre customer.

There was already a BRSK ont in the house when we moved in, and the engineer came today and added a power cable to it and brought a router.

The router is BRSK. Is this normal? I assumed I'd get a YF router but maybe because the ont was BRSK they have to match?

Any ideas? Thanks :)

Install cancelled without telling me?!

I had an apt booked - never received a confirmation message for me to confirm the apt (just the original email to say the apt was booked). I called them the day before the apt to confirm it's still going ahead and surprise surprise, they say it's been cancelled but nobody let me know so what the hell is going on!?!?

When I booked the apt it was already more than 3 weeks because they had no early appointments.

Now they want me to wait longer!!? So frustrated.

Itchy rash after sun exposure, F34, non smoker, non drinker, no medications, 5ft3

This first happened in March when I was on holiday and was walking in the sun and also this week when I was on holiday in a sunny destination again.
It gets really itchy, burns after I scratch it.

F34, 5 ft 3, no meds, non smoker - I think I have skeeter syndrome

Every time I go on holiday where there are mosquitos, and I get bitten, I end up developing big swellings. I got bitten twice on my leg yesterday and a few hours later I did scratch a few times. Today I woke up to the bottom one as big as a golf ball, maybe bigger. Feels hard and warm to touch. This happens a lot so I’m “used to it” but it’s uncomfortable. It’s not painful to touch. It’s just a bit itchy. Do I need to worry about cellulitis or? This always happens and after a couple of days it goes less swollen and starts to ease.

Anyone else got this text?

Got a text from -EE- that says:
“Hi from EE. Switch to a pay monthly plan and stay on the UK’s best network - a crown we’ve worn for 12 years in a row” with a link to “discover” the plans.
Is this legit? Any other PAYG customers got this text?

If it’s spam and not EE, will it infect my number or phone!? I get very paranoid lol

Edit: grammar

What are these bites?

It’s hard to see these bites so I’ve tried to make it obvious by pressing down on the skin.
I spent a lot of time outside yesterday and I was at my grandmas where I spotted a flea on her dog today.
I was wearing long pants so I don’t know if one hitchhiked with me back to the hotel I’m staying at and it bit me? No idea.

It’s itchy but not constantly - it’s in the inner side of my foot. I wore shoes all day at my grandmas and tight socks.

When we came back to the hotel we saw a mosquito, so I don’t know if when I took my socks off it bit me before I went for my shower? I’m just a bit dubious as to whether it’s a mosquito as my foot was obviously on the floor, but hey, stranger things have happened. I also read online that they get attracted to odours from feet for example if you’ve been sweating etc which I was as I’d been wearing shoes for hours lol.

Mosquitoes always come for me so this wouldn’t be different per se.

I also always check for bed bugs any time I go to a hotel so I hope it’s not that.

I wasn’t sure if it was a rash at first, as I tend to get rashes but they’re usually on my fingers or toes when I’m stressed or due on (I’m due on so I have the rashes/eczema on my hands which started yesterday), not the side of my feet.

It feels a bit swollen where it’s itchy, but I think there are 3 smaller spots next to the main one? But I can’t really tell. The area hasn’t really swollen like mosquito bites tend to on me (I have skeeter syndrome) but I don’t know whether it’s cause I had a hot bath last night when I noticed the bite.

I also seemed to have a bit of a rash (different to this one) on my ankle on the other foot a few weeks ago.

Any ideas?!?! When I squeeze it it feels so good cause it’s itchy lol. Can’t see a puncture wound and feels a little bumpy when I feel over it.

Not sure if connected, was in a pool 2 days ago.

Fleas and hosts

I’ve been visiting my grandma who has a dog and has cats coming in and out of her home (cats that don’t have flea treatments) and she won’t listen when I tell her they probably have fleas.

I was petting the dog today and saw an adult flea on top of her fur. She constantly scratches and she was at the groomer a few days ago and I asked if she had had her flea treatment or whether they’ve checked for fleas as she has obvious flea poop on her and she said yes.

Last night I was at my grandma’s and when I came back home (I was wearing long pants) and took my shoes off I started developing some kind of bites on the inside of my foot. I didn’t know whether it was a mosquito as I’d seen one in the room, but I’d literally took my shoe off so it would’ve only been a few mins between me taking my socks off and hopping in the bath.

Now I’m paranoid because I think it could be flea bites on my foot, and maybe I got a hitchhiker that climbed up my pant leg and somehow went inside my socks and bit me?! Or can they bite over the sock too? Maybe I’m overthinking it.

What are the chances a hitchhiker came with me to the home and bit me after taking my sock off?

I also did laundry at my grandma’s (40 degrees) so I’m paranoid that’s gonna have eggs or something.

Can they give birth on me/in my clothes/shoes!?

I’m itchy all over now because I think I could be overthinking it. 😩

Also my partner sat on the sofa NEXT to the dog too. :/

Please an expert help! (I have bug phobias due to my OCD).
