(Interesting Trope): The Future Hasn’t Been Kind To You, Has It?

Box Ghost(Danny Phantom):In the dark future where Danny became Dan Danny, Box Ghost takes life more serious as a result of his run in with Dan.
Box Ghost: Beware.

Yuji Itadori(Jujutsu Kaisen):On a personal scale, Yuji Itadori has become The Ageless and has outlived most of his friends, only staying in contact with Todo, causing him to go underground. In the mean time he has kept up his combat skills.

The Last Ronin(TMNT):Mikey was always a badass, but his full potential was never reached due to his lack of focus and laziness. After losing his family, he overcomes those flaws, furthers his own ninjitsu training with the help of his father’s journal, masters his brothers’ weapons, and travels around the world to master other fighting styles. He surpassed his own brothers and possibly his own father, and succeeded in what his family could not: end the feud between the Hamato Clan and the Foot Clan. He had to become strong in order to deal with his other 3 brothers dying.

Trunks(Dragon Ball):Future Trunks, who was the second Super Saiyan to appear in the manga and who wiped out Freeza, his father King Cold, and all of their minions single-handedly in his first appearance. Because he grew up in a Bad Future where every day is a fight to survive, he's strong and pragmatic, but also well-mannered.

How easily can a normal person take down a ghoul?

I got a bit inspired by Obsession except I wasn’t down with the non-consensual aspect.

>!I remember how Nikki smashed Sarah’s head in with that brick. Very messed up.!<

So say if a regular person had to deal with the vamp’s ghouled security or soldier. The human gets too close to the truth of finding a vampire’s operation or Masquerade and the ghoul comes after the human PC during the day. How would that go for the human?

Samuel Haight killed his first vampire at age 15.

Question: What was the genuine reaction to Death just showing up out of nowhere?

I was a bit startled by someone just appearing out of nowhere.

What was the general consensus on the scene?

So how does a “young” Kindred upstart build up his Resources?

How does one effectively organize one’s ghouls and build his Resources? So my PC has three ghouls. One’s his strongest. She’s Elena from Night Road based off of the ending where you head for Seattle and you build a business with her. Covenant Import and Exports has grown to be major juggernaut. It’s like Amazon. Her business allows him to sell blood to other Kindred in a less suspicious manner. His second ghoul is a surgeon and helps him with the blood trade since he’s a registered nurse. Auspex certainly helps him find the vein. She helps cover his tracks when he sells the blood to “new” LLCs. As for his third she’s his bodyguard. He put her in the police and is making her climb up the ranks so just in case something goes wrong she can call off the police. A ghoul can definitely pass the police academy easily.

So with a registered nurse/blood trader(my PC), a CEO, world class surgeon, and police officer under him how much Resources does he have? That’s not even counting the local Toreador and coterie he hangs out with.

So how does one get to Special Grade in the JJK-verse without being related to Michizane Sugawara?

Yes I know Yuki and Hakari did it but how? There seems to a certain ego, confidence (or anything in life looking at you Megumi), or narcissism that you need to have to become a sorcerer or anything in life. You also need to learn how to make exploits or loopholes when making Binding Vow’s rules. You could find a rule that if you get the wording right you could use to your benefit (machiavellianism). You also need to be cold blooded when fighting anyone threatening you life(psychopathy) and not lose sleep. Of course these traits can be positive like Gojo. And yes Gojo did train to end up the strongest just because you have talent doesn’t mean you don’t train.Training helps you kill most things but you a need to be more selfish and train your techniques too. >!Even Yuji to get a little bit of power had to tap into his selfishness by eating his half-bros(with Choso’s permission) to gain Blood and gained Shrine through an exploit to take down Sukuna. After all determining who needs to be sacrificed for the “greater good” is a selfish action.!<

So a hypothetical:Say if Junpei had lived how does he boost and train himself to Special Grade? Or say for example a nobody. How would they boost their skills to a special grade with a crappy technique.

I just realized he had to go to cram school vs having a normal school year.

I mean it paid off because he learned Blood(through a morally questionable means but then again Sorcery is built on selfishness), RCT, and Simple Domain.

Wonder what a normal school year at Jujutsu High would’ve been like for him?

Having your mother revive your cholo Uncle and causing a war will do that I guess.

How do you guys use graveyards in your stories?

I stayed at hotel near a graveyard for FEMA and I was slightly amused. I think it was an old Confederate graveyard of some sort. Giovanni isn’t my style but don’t they use spirits for power?

I had an idea where a vamp was breaking the masquerade somehow(give me an idea) at a graveyard and it was up to a Scourge to see what was going on. Of course he has a coterie to help.Just an idea I had.

Or maybe a Sabbat embrace? Where they embrace Kine and if they don’t get out of the coffin and above ground in a certain amount of time they meet Final Death?

If they aren’t breaking the masquerade how would a vamp make a haven out of the catacombs? Do other vamps use graveyards and crypts as havens, rituals, or hang outs?

Hot/Cold Take:I love how at the end he was OP but it didn’t feel that way.

Even before the story ended Yuji had high physical stats but it didn’t change much. It’s like a Football player learning how to swim for the first time.He started off as a grade one sorcerer but sucked at using cursed energy. Yuji had to earn everything related to CE—died, trained in secret to actually catch up, learned Black Flash during an attack(failed the 1st go), and pushed himself to master his techniques. Had PTSD from Shibuya.Had to get trained to unlock Blood by doing something disgusting.Had to go to cram school(learned RCT and Simple Domain) because they were in a time of war.He only unlocked Shrine by getting in the zone.He could’ve been killed at any moment.

And even when he unlocked Blood and Shrine they were mainly Offensive techniques. You could however with practice and make them really good. Gege was really made his growth realistic. Him being strong in Modulo makes sense because he had time to practice. Wish we could see more of his missions inbetween EOS and Modulo.

How would you describe Obsession’s soundtrack?

It seems to have a lot of synth waves and has a warm romantic feeling like you’re spending time with your loved one under the starry night sky but then has some sinister undertones that make you feel weird.

What is the name of the music style?

Yuji/Maki/Megumi/Yuta and the Big Vengeful Curses

Can I praise Gege Akutami for a bit? The way he integrated Japan’s history into the story is amazing. Sugawara no Michizane,Taira no Masakado,Emperor Sutoku qualities are shown through their cursed techniques.

Taira no Masakado was an ancient samurai known for his brutal physical might. That sounds like a Heavenly Restriction. He protected his daughter Princess Takiyasha who used sorcery to summon Yokai and the Gashadokuro. A giant skeleton monster. The fandom believes that if Megumi was fully realized and was more confident that would his DE would be that alongside Mahoraga.

Sugawara no Michizane brilliant scholar, poet, and politician during the Heian period who was falsely accused of treason by political rivals and exiled to Dazaifu, where he died in despair. Because Michizane died with immense resentment, his bloodline inherited immense cursed energy making Yuta generational powerhouses.

Emperor Sutoku and Yuji with the Kamo Clan was harder to pick out but it tracks. Sutoku is famous in folklore for isolating himself in exile to write Buddhist scriptures meant to curse the imperial court, and legends claim he used his own blood to write them. Because of the prominent role blood plays in his legend, it makes sense to connect Sutoku to the Kamo clan and their signature Blood Manipulation technique.

I love how he made them apply to modern day legends. Good job Gege.
