A very 1990s birthday
Very expired coupons.
My late grandfather worked for the Mars Corporation for 20+ years.
I found Pyros Mask at a Diner
had a bunch a old war stuff over there and THIS caught my eyes
IBM Wheelwriter 5, 3 flashing red lights and literally nothing else works.
SOLVED!
Its nothing, nothing is the problem it was working just fine an hour ago, although the ribbon is broken it doesn't matter if its in or not. This is the version with the printer addon card, but that doesn't matter, I can unplug it, plug it back and it makes no difference. Its not the memory batteries, those make no difference either, I feel like an idiot because everytime I try to look up a solution it gives me NOTHING related at all.
Like, this problem doesn't exist for anyone but me, so what am I screwed do I need to waste more money and buy another one of these.
COMPAQ Pen and pad
4 dollar thrift store find. The pen handle has an LED, which means it might light up. The coin cell was corroded. I can't find anything about this online.
Was this a good or a bad financial investment? IBM Wheelwriter 5 5441 WITH "rare" add in card
118 dollars in total, was this a score or probably too much money? I actually need to know, because im not good at judging for myself, I bought this out of impulse knowing I could use it as a printer.
My package moved 47 minutes 4 days ago and is now stuck in tracey limbo
Please mister fedex please go out of business...
Seller made the foolish mistake of shipping my 200 dollar laptop with fedex it needs to travel a few more days to get to my location. I'm pretty unhappy because it was estimated to be here early on Saturday (which was a lie) that made me oversleep.
Nice subreddit you've got here...

How to Fix the Pixel 6 Boot Loop. (hopefully)
Hey everyone, I've had an unwilling journey with my friends Google Pixel 6.
Possible Cause: Degraded battery, from my research a Pixel 6 that has been heavily used also relates to a heavily degraded battery, which can cause the system to crash and boot loop usually on the google logo, at this point if possible get the battery replaced, if not continue.
Possible solution: ADB on Linux Mint, also called Platform tools is a tool used to recover android devices, to boot a device into recovery mode power off, then press and hold the power button and the volume down key, tap the power button and it should bring you to the recovery menu. Once there, you can use the volume keys to select "Recovery Mode".
Recovery Mode: Upon entering recovery mode, press power then the volume up key to show the Fastboot menu, using the volume keys for navigation scroll down to: "Apply Update from ADB". Then wait, it may timeout and return back to the fastboot menu after a prolonged time of not being in use.
From there, you can go to any device that can run Linux Mint Cinnamon (Unsure about other distros) It is recommended to make a live image using Rufus and a USB drive. Go to the official website and download the Linux Mint .ISO, this may take several minutes, also download the correct OTA for your phone, you can find this information in the Fastboot recovery menu, its the string of numbers (Example: oriole-ota-cp1a.260405.005-b1ad4367) you can use this to identify which version you need.
ADB and Recovery mode video tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7zyBt3ckMvI
To download an OTA version go to: https://developers.google.com/android/ota then download.
If the Linux Mint ISO has completed, install it to a USB flash drive, then plug it into your system of choice, depending on your system the keybind to boot into the BIOS will vary. In my case its "F12" you may be prompted with a menu, simply press the down arrow key and select the USB drive then wait for Linux mint to load. Once it has continued follow the guide presented below:

Please ask me if you have any questions, my typing abilities have the tendency to be needlessly complicated, it is a fault of my own.
adb server version (40) doesn't match this client (41); killing... * daemon started successfully
THIS IS MEANINGLESS
I have been banging my head against the wall for hours trying to find some answer for this bs. Im trying to apply an update through ADB because my android 16 device (pixel 6) decided to stop working. I've been here for two days without any answers whatsoever. Everytime I search for an answer nobody can give it to me instead they just talk their assess off about nothing relevant. Im on Windows 10.
I assume if this stupid server actually worked I could fix my damn phone but I cant because of course it doesn't work.
Pixel 6 Began Bootlooping for no reason whatsoever, now I can't enter recovery because adb server version (40) doesn't match this client (41) so what I guess im screwed.
Friends device, they use it indoors, its in basically new condition. Its a few years old and its been working fine until now, until now of all times.
It began to get stuck on the google logo, just sitting on its sorry ass not even trying to boot. I was able to fix it, somehow for a day, all I know is that I entered ADB recovery mode and wasted 3 hours of my life on a useless garbage software called "Platform Tools" or I should say its literally defective, I swear some retarded ass error ohh adb server version (40) doesn't match this client (41) or some bs to make my life harder. I could never get any of the stupid OTA files to install properly, not even the one thats currently installed on the device.
Of which you'd fucking think, you'd really think it would just work but itnever works and it never wil lkrqewngfsxgmpkh FUJKC KGps.
Regardless, I was able to get to at least 7% when flashing oriole-ota-cp1a.260405.005-b1ad4367. Which as I mentioned previously is the one currently installed on this device. As soon as it got to 7% it just gave the hell up, didn't even give me a error, there was no error its just taunting me or this is all a big scam to get me to buy a new phone, nice try guys.
And now its stuck on the gray G logo with a loading bar thats really starting to grate on my nerves and my dwindling patience. They really want their files back, its you know, their phone they bought.
I can't fix this thing, I guess, since Platform Tools doesn't want to work and the only tutorial I have just expects it do what the fuck am I supposed to do.
Very close yet so very far
Hardwaregore is for computer gore.
My humble Microsoft Wired 600 keyboard.
Its a very good keyboard, it does what it needs to do, which is transmit user input onto a screen. I have had no complaints with it, Sure, its not colorful, and its not going to win any awards, its just that, a keyboard that you type on.
- At least 3 pictures. -Two pictures of the keyboard itself
- Kit or keyboard. -Microsoft Wired 600
- Keycaps. -Stock aside from the removed capslock key
- Switches. -Dome rubber
AI Slop channel "The Daily Navy" who just straight up lies in their videos for views
Some of their videos are obvious fakes, some are harder to tell from a distance. The future scares me.
Im new to making self hosted servers, so im trying out a few things software wise including Urbackup which has just given me a really big headache.
I Have a machine that runs Ubuntu, and I was looking for solutions to creating automatic back ups of my main machine, I hear good things about Urbackup, my only, teensy, little issue is that. Oh I can't use it anymore. Why?
Well, it prompted me to make an admin account, then it kicked me out of the interface and prompted me with a password prompt, I give it my password and I don't exist. So now what, I don't know much about the linux terminal, its a nightmare for someone who primarily uses Windows 10.
help.
The power supply didn't fit and then it just went from there
First home storage back up server on a major budget.
Help me find this beta product testing service that is apparently called earlybird
Im not crazy.
In passing someone I was talking to mentioned this product testing service called "Earlybird" or something like that, basic premise is that they send you stuff that you get to test for bugs or flaws, and apparently you get to keep it. They also pay so I was told. But I can't find this service anywhere, I keep getting results for 100% NOT what im looking for.
Chromebook 5190 ((GARBAGE)) blinking light no display.
Also to add, it only works when the battery is unplugged.
What a waste of money I've poured into this device, do you know how expensive chromebook 5190 batteries are? Regardless, I bought one to put into the 5190 2 in 1 I recently acquired with the fleeting hope it would actually work.
after installing the new battery, I've connected it to a charger, a 12 watt charger that I know works with other chromebooks because im not dumping more money for a proper wattage charger. it does NOTHING. All it does is blink a red light at me, it also won't respond to keyboard inputs, taking it off the charger or yes, even screaming at it that its parents never loved it for how little its contributed to me and society.
So what now then for this awful, worthless, piece of trash that would be happier in a landfill then literally anywhere else. Because im running out of ideas, and I am completely out of patience.
Free Handtruck, broken plastic caster wheel.
The idiot who designed this handtruck went for plastic casters instead of metal bearing ones, they are also riveted on. Any ideas?
My 10 dollar D630 (running windows 10)
The only issue with it is that my SSD is broken and only works with an external cable. also batteries are more expensive then the machine so its not worth buying a new one. Aside from that, it does what I need it to do.
And you might asking, why Windows 10? Because I need it for a specific purpose that linux that doesn't support.
