Timing belt, water pump, tensioner, and valve were done 3 weeks ago at a local shop. Today the shop test drove and inspected my car to see what else? He found only 4 things $1100. First two must now. Last two things I can wait ( will do it when I bring my car in for oil change 3 months later)
Also, owner does not know anything about VCM disabled.......

Are below price fair?

1. $400 Tune up ( Tune up and spark plugs mean the same thing right?) From online research $400 just replace spark plugs and no other service.
   1. $280 transmission service (Other place $100 Transmission fluid change, not sure if it is the same thing but why $180 differences though? Aren't they doing the same thing?)
2. $150 Transfer case service
3. $280 air induction service

Edit: Now I am second guessing this lawyer who contacted me. My father is an I T guy, I am worried he maybe make a fake lawyer page, this lawyer made few grammar mistakes on the email that he sent me which is strange. Lawyers should have strong writting skills.

I am 19 and my deadbeat father who has been gone most of my life. No child support. He will never bother to contact me and my younger sister (10) until recently. My mom works hard and provides a roof over our heads.

Nov 2024, his mom/my grandmother passed away. She had a life insurance and they sold her house for $450K. My father was in charged of everything like POA, all legal stuffs and the trustee but I believed he later on transferred all his assets, everything to his sister to avoid child support.

Feb 2025, out of blue, my father contacted me that grandmother left me and my sister some money. Then, no follow up and never heard from him since.

Never provided me any insurance policy or show me the will. My grandmother (always) was very clear about leaving everyone some money fairly.

July 2026, he emailed me that grandmother did not leave me and my sister any money, "There is a change of the will, I need you to sign the paper to me. When I get the money, I will personally give you guys some money from my own money, ask your mother for permission for your sister."

So confusing! I think my father is lying and trying to fool us to sign the money to him.

My mom does not care / do not want to have anything to do with this but she told me that it was my choice and up to me how I wanted to handle this.

August 10, 2026, an insurance policy lawyer contacted me and provided me the policy number. My sis and I ARE included on the will and policy. My father lied again! I am not surprised!

The insurance lawyer with a "Esq" title:

"Please contact me as soon as possible because we need to know if there will be an agreement among the various claimants regarding the distribution of the policy’s proceeds – currently there is not complete agreement among the claimants to this life insurance policy. If the claimants cannot come to an agreement, we would likely file an interpleader lawsuit naming the claimants as defendants and then deposit the money into the court."

Another sister with 3 kids (1 biological 19M son, 2 adopted kids 17 and 15 are from the youngest brother who is in and out jail whole life)

1. Why my father lied about no money for my sister and me/change of the will? Did he really think truth will not come out when the lawyer contact me? Why is he so greedy?? He already never pays a penny for child support, I witnessed my mom struggles so much!
2. Most important, what am/how much am I supposed to ask?
3. Why can't he and his family stick with the original will amount that grandmother drafted? What changes? The house is sold so more money to fight for? Or he and his siblings think my sister and I do not deserve it?
4. My mom and dad never married, no court order, no custody agreement, so my mom is the legal sole custodian unless my dad file his parental right. Otherwise, why the life policy insurance needs my mom to be part of this for my sister? I thought my dad has the right to keep my younger sis's inheritance.

Late March 2026, other driver with Geico made improper lane changed and caused me rear ended her. Police gave her a citation. Geico accepted 100% loss, so not my fault.

Same day, I went to the Urgent care, did an x-ray.

Missed 3 days of work.

Early April 2026, started seeing Chiropractor for 3 months.

Neck pain, shoulder pain, and lower back pain and a right knee pain (When slammed on brake, my knee hit the panel hard. Pain levels for all above were 7-8 out of 10.

I hurt to turn my neck, and I experience sharp pain in my shoulder and lower back as well. My knee really hurts when I take stairs, and I had to use my hands to hold the rail so that no pressure was on my knees.

Since I still felt pains, I visited my primary care doctor on June 2026. I was prescribed a pain medicine and some muscle relaxers medicine (before bedtime and make me drowsy). Also, referred me to a physical therapist.

However, when I called the physical therapist, the front desk confused me. He said they might not pay for this medical bill if I had an active auto claim? (I was afraid I had to pay for it.)

I finished chiropractic treatment early July 2026 but the chiropractor then on family vacation for few weeks.

When I saw my chiropractor early August 2026 for the sign and release last appointment, he noticed my condition was only improved a little not significant improvement. He wanted to refer me to pain management.

Now: Still same above mentioned area pains, pains level maybe 6-7 out of 10.

1. Red Flag to Geico? Chiropractor was on vacation and did not see him 30 days and now I might start pain management?
2. pain management or physical therapist? Which one is better for my pain condition?

Mid June 2026 Geico paid for my car repair (Mainly bumper damages) and rental car.

Today, I talked to Geico.

Geico adjuster said would cover 100% all the costs and accepted all the loss. She offered medical bills covers $9000 until Nov 8 2026.

She offered $2500 compensation plus the (3 days )loss wage.

I told her that I needed to think about it and would see either physical therapy or pain management soon.

I have 3 years to make the claim.

3. $2500 is fair?

a long cracked line right in the middle of the windshield. It cracked from bottom all the way almost to the top, cracked stopped near the rear mirror.

I called one shop, they asked if my rear mirror had cable or power line attached. I said no but I was not totally sure what that mean, I did not see a cable there on rear mirror. They quote me $280 and tax. Seems cheap and I thought should be around $600 online researches.

2 Safe to drive for 2-3 days on freeway I-5 (Washington state) until next week? The shop is busy nothing available until next week, I really need to work july 23 and 24 and 25 work shifts and make some money for all the car maintenance services. I am worried safety. I have to drive on freeway about 30 miles each way on I-5 highway and also lot of semi trucks on the road. Scared another piece of rocks hit it hard again.

My friend helped me bought total 6 "NGK Iridium Plug Number LKR7DIX-11S Spark Plug - 93175" $15 a piece at O'Reilly. How long will this last?

Should I get NGK 90074 instead ? ($31-35 per piece)

Today, July 22, 2026, I dropped off my car at a local shop $1800 included timing belt, valve, water pump, and tensioner service. They will also check if idler pulley makes any noises.

Just last week, DIY finished Oil change.

Next week will DIY below: A college friend is helping me.

WA State. No court/ no custody order in place. A single mom with 2 kids, one is an adult now and other is an minor. A deadbeat ex never provides any child support since day 1 and no visit the kids for years. He abandoned us and disappeared. He said he had no money but he lives a good life really. He lives in Thailand. At this point, I do not expect anything or want anything from him as I have been independent financially even sometimes means struggle a little. I work hard to provide a life to my kids.

Please only kind and no judgmental comments. I do not care or want anything from their will, none of my business. I can provide for my kids and I have been doing it so long on my own. I am only here to understand what doc ex tries to ask me to sign? or what is his evil plan?

His mom was always upfront about "definitely will leave some money to all grandkids and her own kids".

Ex always the POA, and executor, and always in charge of the will and all the legal stuffs.

2024 Nov his mother passed.

Few months later, Ex called my elder kid, asked for his bank account info because "Grandma left you some money" However, no words/follow up from ex and ex disappeared after.

He never showed us the will or told us any info regarding of this matter.

Today July 2026, he contacted my elder child, he said there was a change of will in 2023. "Grandma will not give the grandkids any money but I will give you some money, please wait for the lawyer to contact you, please have your mom (me) give permission for your younger brother."

I do not understand why would his late mom all of sudden changed her will?

I do not want his hang out like he is doing us a favor considering that he does not help financially us this whole time, rather live a luxury life and he does not care if we would be homeless at the beginning. Also, the money is not even from him, it is from his late mom.

2024 Ex said his late mom left my kids some money but now 2026 he said changes in the will in 2023? Seems odd about it.

1 Please help me to understand how he can change his words and change the will easily like this?

2 Did he commit fraud in some way? He knows the law loopholes and has lawyer friends will help.

3 What is benefit to change the will this way? Leave zero money to grandkids but all to ex?

I do not need anything from him, I just want to understand his moves.

4 What should I watch out /caution if this lawyer contact me? I do not know if the money is from the will or from ex? If it is from ex, why need a lawyer? I do not know how to read court documents.

(Ex is not a honest person. After he abandoned us. He stole my personal info, My credit report showed that ex applied two credit cards under my name only. He max out the credit cards almost $10K, left me debts.)
