Medical Notes:
Summer is heartworm negative and appears to be in good overall health. She has received her DA2PP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines, has been dewormed with pyrantel, and treated with Advantage Multi for parasite prevention. No significant medical concerns have been noted.

Behavior Notes:
Summer is a fearful young dog who has shut down in the shelter environment. She stays at the back of her kennel, avoids eye contact, trembles, lip licks, and keeps her tail tightly tucked. She will often pancake to the ground and has shown little interest in treats or encouragement, making it difficult for staff to move her. On multiple occasions she has needed to be carried because she was too frightened to walk.

Tanner was sitting with a relaxed body and perky ears when I approached. I leashed him with no issues and he slightly army
crawled out of his kennel. He walked on a loose leash and occasionally would pancake but would quickly stand back up
and walk to the run. On his way back in he leaned into me for pets and walked on a loose leash. He went back into his
kennel with no issues.

📝 Shelter Notes:

6/22/26: During intake and workup, Captain stood with a wagging tail until blood collection was attempted, at which point he flinched and turned away quickly. Staff attempts to restrain him resulted in thrashing and screaming, preventing completion of heartworm testing.

6/25/26: Captain initially showed a worried face and hesitated when staff attempted to leash him. After being allowed outside to potty, he returned to staff with a wagging tail and walked back cooperatively.

6/25/26: During an evening attempt to administer eye medication, Captain lunged and barked through the kennel. Staff were able to medicate him during the morning, but he remained vocal and showed wide eyes in the evening.

6/27/26: Captain stood at his kennel door with a high wagging tail, open-mouth smile, and neutral body posture. He leashed easily and walked on a semi-loose leash to the runs and a loose leash back to his kennel. He returned to his kennel willingly for treats and remained quiet throughout the morning.

6/28/26: Captain was lying down in his kennel when approached. He walked on a semi-tight leash to the runs and, upon returning to his kennel, began vocalizing as other dogs around him were also vocalizing.

6/29/26: Captain was moved as a "move adopt" dog. Staff were able to leash him in the outside runs, where he ignored treats and walked with a tucked tail, dilated pupils, and a tense body. After being placed in his new kennel, he began barking, so enrichment was provided.

7/2/26: Captain was constantly vocalizing during morning feeding and cleaning. When approached, he displayed a flinchy body posture, a partially tucked tail, and dilated eyes. Once leashed, he walked on a forward leash but did not pull hard and continued vocalizing while in the outdoor kennel.

🚑 Medical Notes:
• 2-year-old intact male weighing 61 pounds
• Heartworm status unknown
• Presented with ocular discharge from both eyes, worse in the left eye
• Diagnosed with conjunctivitis, possibly secondary to entropion, and treated with erythromycin ophthalmic ointment for 10 days
• Had superficial healed scabs on the medial axilla and elbow with no redness, discharge, or swelling; no further treatment required

💙 Captain appears to be a sensitive dog who is struggling with the stress of the shelter environment. While he can become fearful and vocal in the kennel setting, staff have also observed him displaying friendly body language, walking well on leash, and seeking reassurance. He urgently needs a calm, patient environment where he can decompress and feel safe.

6/13/2026: Reported as an abandoned puppy in an apartment complex. Intake notes indicate she had been aggressive toward children and was secured in a gate for pickup. Intake condition listed as behavior manage.

6/19/2026: Calm in her kennel with a soft wagging tail. Quiet and content, resting or playing with plush toys.

6/22/2026: Calm in the front of the kennel with a wiggly body, soft eyes, and wagging tail. Easily leashed, explored the yard, and accepted treats before continuing to investigate her surroundings.

6/24/2026: Calm in her kennel with a wiggly body, soft eyes, and wagging tail. Easily leashed, walked well on a loose leash, and calmly explored the play yard while accepting treats.

6/27/2026: Showed mixed behavior throughout the day. One interaction noted a wiggly body in the morning, walking well on a loose leash and resting calmly outside, but later lunging and barking with bared teeth at technicians as they approached. Earlier evaluations described tense body language, barking, growling, lunging at staff and the leash, retreating, and being placed on an adoption evaluation due to escalating kennel behavior.

7/1/2026: Displayed a wiggly body, wagging tail, and soft facial expression. Tends to jump on the kennel door and vocalize while walking by. Kept her kennel covered to reduce visual stimulation from other dogs.

7/2/2026: While another dog displayed barrier aggression nearby, Tilly remained at the front of her kennel and ignored the other dog.

7/2/2026: Yoga had feces throughout his coat. He repeatedly jumped against the kennel, soiling the kennel walls, and was heavily panting.

6/17/26: When approached, Hazel initially ran to the back of her kennel but slowly came forward. Once leashed, she walked with a crouched body before gradually becoming more comfortable and walking with a wagging tail.

6/20/26: Hazel greeted staff at the front of the kennel with a neutral body and walked on a loose leash to and from the runs without issue.

6/21/26: Hazel greeted staff with an open mouth, fast wagging tail, and wiggly body. She walked on a loose leash to and from the runs and sought attention and pets from handlers.

6/22/26: Hazel jumped up on the kennel door when approached and walked outside with a bouncy, zig-zag gait. She barked in the runs when people were visible but was easy to leash and return to her kennel.

6/23/26: Hazel was a move-adopt dog and walked on a loose leash to her new kennel. Once inside, she remained standing at the front of the kennel when staff passed by.

6/24/26: Hazel was quiet when approached and standing by her kennel door. She was easy to leash and walked on a loose leash without issues.

6/25/26: Hazel was described as timid and fearful during the morning. She initially ran away from staff when approached and cried when leashed. During her walk, she displayed a tucked tail and attempted to bolt into other kennels. Once returned to her own kennel, she settled and laid down on her Kuranda bed.

6/26/26: Hazel remained hidden in her bed when staff approached her kennel. After receiving food, she came forward. While being walked, she reacted to other dogs by barking and pulling on leash and remained tense and panting on the return trip.

6/27/26: Hazel presented with a loose body, wagging tail, and soft closed mouth when approached. She was somewhat forward while walking but ignored treats and did not care for them.

6/28/26: When approached, Hazel displayed a wagging tail, neutral body, and ears up. She was easy to leash and walked on a semi-tight leash, pulling at times but redirecting well with treats.

6/29/26: Hazel was removed from adoption evaluation due to improved behavior. She greeted staff with a loose body, wagging tail, and soft open mouth. She remained distracted by treats while walking on leash.

6/30/26: Staff removed Hazel's kennel cover and noted that she appeared to do better when covered. Hazel was reactive to some dogs passing by. She greeted staff with a loose body, high wagging tail, and soft panting. In the outdoor runs, Hazel barked at other dogs but appeared to enjoy playing with her enrichment toys once back in her kennel.

💜 Hazel appears to be a sensitive, social dog who has experienced significant stress in the shelter environment. Staff have observed affectionate behaviors, describing her as wiggly, attention-seeking, and easy to handle on many occasions. While she understandably can become reactive to other dogs and overwhelmed by the shelter environment, she has shown the ability to relax, enjoy enrichment, and form positive relationships with handlers. Hazel urgently needs a calm environment where she can decompress and continue building confidence.

6/18/26: Bryce presented with a soft open mouth, wiggly body, and wagging tail. He licked staff members' hands during leashing and ran toward handlers when called in the runs.

6/19/26: Bryce was moved to adoptions. Staff described him as very sweet and friendly, quiet throughout cleaning, and attentive while watching staff work nearby.

6/20/26: During morning walks, Bryce continued jumping and bouncing off the kennel walls and gate while vocalizing. He also began low growling at another dog and then vocalizing toward them. He was placed on adoption evaluation.

6/21/26: Bryce jumped and bounced off the kennel walls and gate while vocalizing when staff approached. He kept his kennel clean overnight and was energetic but manageable on leash. While in the runs, he whined and leaned against the gate on his hind legs while vocalizing.

6/22/26: Bryce was jumping and bouncing off the kennel walls and gate while vocalizing. He kept his kennel clean overnight. He walked on a semi-loose leash but pulled forward on the way back and hopped around excitedly.

6/23/26: Bryce was vocal in his kennel when approached. Once leashed, he walked on a semi-tight leash to the runs and back to his kennel.

6/24/26: Bryce became vocal when other dogs walked by his kennel. Once outside, he pulled strongly on leash while exploring and sniffing. He was noted to be aroused during feeding times and frequently circled.

6/25/26: Bryce displayed a wiggly body and happy demeanor while "talking" before his walk. He walked with a tight leash ahead of the handler to the runs and back. After returning, he rested quietly on his bed.

6/26/26: Bryce was walking in circles in his kennel before going outside. He greeted staff with an open mouth and panting and walked forward on leash with a wagging tail. Upon returning to his kennel, he laid quietly on his bed to relax.

6/28/26: When approached, Bryce had a wagging tail, soft open mouth, and was very wiggly while jumping on the kennel door. He was fairly easy to leash but walked on a semi-tight leash due to pulling. While in the runs, he remained very vocal.

6/30/26: Bryce was extremely aroused in his kennel, jumping from wall to wall and heavily panting. He greeted staff at the kennel door with a wagging tail and erect ears but continued jumping and displaying high arousal.

6/25/26: Jacob had a "taking a break" sign and a kennel cover in place. He walked with a loose leash and wiggly body to the runs and back. After returning, he displayed deep forward barking at customers, even from behind the kennel cover. Despite the cover, he continued barking at volunteers and other dogs passing by, hitting his kennel door with enough force to make it shake.

6/26/26: Jacob was lying on his cot during morning feeding. While walking outside, he repeatedly jumped on handlers but could be redirected. Once placed in the outdoor run, he began barking as staff walked away and continued barking throughout his time outside despite being moved away from other dogs. When returned to the kennel area, he resumed vocalizing at staff.

6/27/26: When approached, Jacob was lying in his Kuranda bed with a wiggly body and ears up. He was easy to leash and walked on a tight leash while repeatedly jumping on handlers. He was not interested in treats.

6/29/26: Jacob greeted staff at the front of his kennel with a neutral body, low wagging tail, and soft closed mouth. He became more vocal during morning rounds.

6/30/26: Jacob displayed similar behavior as the previous day. He greeted staff at the front of his kennel with a wiggly body, wagging tail, and neutral ears. He continued attempting to jump on handlers but was easily redirected and followed treat trails. His kennel remains covered due to vocalization.

🔷 Intake:

1 tan dog, injured may have been hit by a car, per citizen laying down in his yard. Growling when approached dog.

📝 Shelter Notes:

Dog was laying in the kennel neutral face and body, I was able to lasso the leash and he slowly got up and followed me out to the runs. Dog kept a loose leash walking to the runs, limping on back right leg, soft face and neutral body.

Dog was laying down with wrinkled forehead and neutral body. He was hesitant to come forward so I offered him wet food and he quickly came forward.

🚑 Medical Notes:

Medical (Rt HL has a large swelling at the stifle and distally that is hard. Manipulation of the lower leg revealed the lower leg below the stifle can move laterally which is not a normal deviation for the foot. There are wounds all over the pt hindlegs.)

S/O: Pt is an intact male, sedated to bring in. Pt Rt HL has a large swelling at the stifle and distally that is hard. Manipulation of the lower leg revealed the lower leg below the stifle can move laterally which is not a normal deviation for the foot. There are wounds all over the pt hindlegs.

A: Fracture of the tibia and fibula is most likely.

P: EUth is the recommendation for this pt.

📝 Shelter Notes:

6/21 Intake: Tiana and another dog were reportedly left behind by hotel guests after an eviction. They were found confined in a cage inside a heavily soiled hotel room.

6/23: Tiana vocalized constantly throughout the day but was easy to leash and walked well on a loose leash. Once back in her kennel, she continued vocalizing, panting heavily, and salivating. Staff noted these behaviors appeared to be stress-related and placed her on the adoption evaluation list.

6/25: Tiana greeted staff at the front of her kennel with a soft wagging tail when spoken to. She was easily leashed and walked calmly on a loose leash to the runs. She greeted staff again with another soft wagging tail before walking easily back into her kennel.

🚑 Medical Notes:

• Heartworm positive (low positive)
• Lick granulomas on her front paws (no treatment needed)
• Approximately 31 pounds
• Received vaccines, dewormer, and flea prevention

💜 Although the shelter environment has clearly been overwhelming for her, Tiana consistently shows a gentle, social personality. Tiana has already experienced the heartbreak of being abandoned. She deserves the chance to leave the shelter behind and find the loving home she's been waiting for.

📝 Shelter Notes:

No behavior notes.

This senior stray arrived in poor condition and is currently being treated for multiple medical issues affecting his eyes and skin.

Medical staff noted both eyes were red with green discharge and diagnosed him with bilateral conjunctivitis. He also has generalized hair loss, scaling of the skin, and dermatitis. A skin scrape was performed and was negative for mites. He is currently receiving antibiotic eye ointment and oral antibiotics.

🚑 Medical Notes:

• Approximately 60.6 pounds
• Bilateral conjunctivitis with green eye discharge
• Generalized dermatitis with hair loss and scaling
• Skin scrape negative for mites
• Receiving Terramycin eye ointment twice daily for 10 days
• Receiving Cephalexin 750 mg twice daily for 14 days
• Heartworm negative
• Received vaccines, dewormer, and flea prevention

💙 This sweet senior is facing age, illness, and the stress of the shelter all at once. Despite his medical needs, this older boy deserves the opportunity to recover in a loving home rather than spending his final days in the shelter.
