Hi everyone! My son and I are selling homemade frozen treats “tetas” for $3 each in Brooklyn (Bushwick) today In the corner of Stockholm between Central Ave and Myrtle Ave.
My son is a bilateral below-the-knee amputee, and we’re raising money to help pay for his new prosthetic legs. He actually wanted to come out today and help sell them himself, so he’ll be there with me.❤️
We made everything ourselves and have:
🍓 Strawberry
🍪 Oreo
🥥 Coconut
🍍 Pineapple (water-based)
🍒🍫 Cherry-Chocolate Nutella
**100% of the proceeds are going toward his new prosthetics.**
They’re $3 each, and we accept Cash, Venmo or Zelle.
If you’re around Bushwick today after 1pm, we’d love for you to stop by, say hi, grab a frozen treat, and help us reach our goal.
Thank you! ❤️

🐾 Meet 13 month old puppy Lacey
ID #A2088472
13-month-old Female Labrador Retriever Mix • Brown • 37.0 lbs
Intake Date: 7/29/2026
Lacey was found as one of two stray dogs living under a bridge, both in poor condition. 11 month old Wayne (ID #A2088473) is at Barc but not on the euthanasia list at this time.
Medical Notes:
Lacey is heartworm negative. She has generalized hair loss across her back and sides, and a skin scrape was negative, making contagious skin disease less likely. The veterinarian believes her dermatitis is most consistent with a flea allergy or environmental allergies (atopy). She was treated with Advantage Multi at intake and has received her core vaccines, deworming, and routine preventative care.
🐶 Behavior Notes:
Although no formal behavior evaluation has been completed yet, everything about her story suggests a young dog who has endured a difficult start in life.

Behavior (trembling body, tucked tail, allowed to leash but will start thrashing, handler has to muzzle and carry to prevent thrashing)
7/31/2026 BEHAVIOR NOTE
When I approached the kennel the dog presented a trembling body and tucked tail. She let me leash her but immediately began thrashing. With patience I was able to get her out and down the row a few kennels before she started to really thrash on the leash. I put her into a new clean kennel to keep her from thrashing more.
She was in the back of the kennel with whale eyes and a tensed body. I leashed her and she began to thrash and throw herself around. I did a light muzzle and carried her to a clean kennel.

ID #A2086768
8-year-old Male German Shepherd Mix
⚖️ 72.0 lbs
Intake Date: 7/22/2026
🩺 Medical Notes:
Senior Marco weighs 72 pounds and is low heartworm positive, a treatable condition. Otherwise, he is in good general health. He has been vaccinated, dewormed, and received parasite prevention during his shelter stay.
🐾Behavior Notes:
Marco is a calm, easygoing senior who greets people with a neutral, relaxed body and walks beautifully on a loose leash to and from the play yard. He is quiet and well-mannered, happily spending his time resting peacefully in his kennel.
Marco did manage to jump out of an outdoor run, but he never tried to flee-he simply wandered nearby and was easily recovered. He has since been moved to a covered kennel for his safety. Despite the stress of the shelter, he has remained gentle, cooperative, and calm.

💜 Volunteer Notes:
Leelee is a perfect dog. Barc let us know that she was likely in danger from Monday due to possibly being injured. She was very friendly in her kennel and had zero noticeable issues walking outside. She met several doggies and had nothing but kisses for all of them.
As I was bringing her back in, staff let me know that they thought her puppies had just come in through intake and were looking for her. We reunited mama with her babies. She's a good mama, immediately licking her babies and sat down to nurse. Puppies look healthy and were so happy to see mommy! 🥰

💜🐶 #A2083563 Canyon
7/5 Euth Req| Mastiff Mix | male | 5Y | 64 lbs | HW NAD/NEG
💜 Volunteer Notes:
Canyon is a sweet guy! He is likely potty trained because he immediately went outside when I let him out. He walked well on a leash and received pets well. Canyon is a very vocal guy, which makes it difficult to tell if he likes other dogs or not. He would greet them through the kennel with a wagging tail, but would bark a lot at the female Doberman in the run next to him. Canyon needs someone who is able to handle a dog who likes to use its voice. Canyon loves humans and deserves a second chance!
📝 Shelter Notes:
7/6/2026 BEHAVIOR
NOTE
Approaching kennel dog was standing at the front with neutral face and body. When leashing him he started to flinch but quickly walked out once leash was on. Placed him in the runs and he did well, was quiet and seemed more relaxed. When retrieving him he would run to the back of the run... had to enter and slowly leash him. No issues placing him back into kennel and removing leash.
7/7/2026 BEHAVIOR
NOTE
This morning canyon had a neutral face and body. No issues while in the runs. Still had to enter run and slowly leashed him... he froze in place while lassoing leash. Once on the leash he quickly followed me back into the room. No issues removing leash.
7/9/2026 BEHAVIOR
NOTE
Canyon showed a stressed face, with a neutral body. i was able to leash him with no issues and he walked to the runs on a loose leash. when in the run, he would be sniffing around and finding a place to potty.
7/12/2026 BEHAVIOR
NOTE

7/20/2026 BEHAVIOR
NOTE
07/20/26 14:06 Canyon was standing at the kennel door as I entered the kennel to remove his blanket, remained with his nose at the door as I picked up his blanket and tossed treats in his bowl, didn't touch his kibble in the morning until he had been taken out for a walk. Walked very well with loose leash next to me, tail out and wagging, soft open mouth with tongue out. quiet in the run, loose leash back inside. Stayed on his bed for the rest of cleaning and after opening, calm and quiet.
7/25/2026 BEHAVIOR
NOTE
Canyon still presents a neutral body with a tense facial expression. walked good on a loose leash to the runs.
NOTE
Canyon was a little vocal in his kennel during am feeding and cleaning. after feeding he quieted down and remained laying by his kennel door with a relaxed body. when passing by his kennel with other dogs he would begin to forward lunge and forward bark/growl toward them. walked on a semi forward leash when walking but did not pull very hard.
7/26/2026 BEHAVIOR
NOTE
Canyon greeted me at the kennel door with a fast wagging tail and wiggly body. he let me leash him and walked on a tight leash to and from the potty yard. Inside his kennel he can be seen forward barking at every dog passing by.
7/27/2026 BEHAVIOR
NOTE
07/27/26 08:52 Did not potty in kennel overnight, high pitched barking without breaks during cleaning. Once outside pottied right away but continued high pitched barking, deep forward barking when other dog would get close to shared fence.
