Adorable 7-year old boy Miller is on euthanasia list at BARC, Houston, TX 1 PM 7/2/26. Sweet, loves humans, easy to walk, simply the perfect, more mature boy past rambunctious puppy phase. All he needs is a good home. Please help

🆘💙 MILLER IS LOSING HIS LIFE FOR BEING STRESSED IN A SHELTER 💙🆘
Miller (#A2081273) is a 7-year-old Staffy mix who was surrendered by his owner and now finds himself on BARC’s euthanasia list.
The shelter environment has become overwhelming for him, but underneath the barking and kennel stress is a sweet, affectionate boy who just wants to be with people.
🐶 MILLER #A2081273
💙 Staffordshire Mix
💙 Male
💙 7 Years Old
💙 63 lbs
💙 Heartworm Negative
Staff consistently describe Miller as:
✨ Wiggly and friendly
✨ Easy to leash
✨ Walks well on leash
✨ Loves human interaction
✨ Relaxed outside of his kennel
✨ Sweet and affectionate
One of the most telling notes described Miller greeting staff with “tappy paws” and a wiggly body when they approached. ❤️
Another noted that after returning to his kennel, he calmly laid down and relaxed.
Miller’s biggest struggle is the shelter itself. Like so many dogs, the constant noise, activity, and confinement have led to vocalizing and over-arousal when people pass by. But staff repeatedly observed that once outside his kennel, he is calm, responsive, and easy to handle.
💔 Miller has already lost his home.
Now he’s about to lose his life.
⏰ DEADLINE: THURSDAY, 7/2 AT 1 PM CT
⚠️ BARC has stated there will be NO extensions.
🏡 AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION, FOSTER, OR RESCUE
🚗 Out-of-state and Canadian adoptions are possible through rescue partners. Transport typically costs around $600 USD and includes boarding, veterinary care, spay/neuter, health certificate, and transport.
📩 If you are out of state or in Canada and interested in adopting Miller, please send us a message. We can help connect you with the appropriate rescue partner to facilitate the adoption process.
Miller doesn’t need perfection.
He doesn’t need a huge house.
He just needs someone willing to give him a chance to leave the shelter and be the loyal companion everyone there knows he can be.
Please share, tag rescues, and help us save Miller before time runs out. 🙏

💙🐶 Mando #A2082360
6/21/26 Confiscated (Cruelty) | American Staffordshire Mix | Male | 3 Years Old | 57 lbs | HW Low Positive

💙 Volunteer Notes:

We were not able to meet Mando #A2082360. If you're interested in helping us meet the animals, please message us!

📝 Shelter Notes:

6/23/26: Mando stood at the front of his kennel and pawed at the kennel door. He was easily leashed and walked outside on a semi-tense leash, pulling in multiple directions.

6/25/26: Mando greeted staff at the front of the kennel with a relaxed body, neutral face, and soft wagging tail when spoken to gently. He was easily leashed, walked on a loose leash to the runs, and returned to his kennel without issue.

6/28/26: Mando walked on a tight leash due to pulling and frequently changed directions during his walk. He paid little attention to other dogs while passing them and kept his kennel clean overnight. While in the run, he barked at another dog and gave a brief hard stare before disengaging. He was placed on adoption evaluation.

6/29/26: When staff approached his kennel, Mando barked from the front of the kennel. After treats were offered, he was easily leashed. Outside, he walked tensely and pulled on the leash, requiring treats throughout the walk. Later, he barked at other dogs and caused fence-line conflicts, so he was moved to another kennel.

6/30/26: During morning feeding and walks, Mando would begin vocalizing at the front of his kennel when people walked by or when his kennel cover prevented him from seeing who was nearby. He walked on a loose leash and remained neutral toward other dogs while passing their kennels. While in the run, he gave another dog a hard stare before walking away. Once back in his kennel, he continued vocalizing whenever someone passed by.

🚑 Medical Notes:

• 3-year-old male weighing 57 pounds
• Heartworm positive
• Low positive fecal test for hookworms
• Slightly underweight (body condition score 4/9)
• Fleas and flea dirt present
• Mild flea allergy dermatitis with areas of hair loss
• Brown waxy debris in ears
• Mild dental plaque
• Became reactive during medical handling after a muzzle was applied and injections were attempted
• Receiving deworming treatment and flea prevention

💙 Mando's staff notes repeatedly mention that he is easy to leash and capable of walking calmly outside of the kennel. He also appreciates gentle, friendly voices. This young dog urgently needs a patient foster, adopter, or rescue partner who can provide structure, decompression, and medical treatment so he can give and receive love!

💜 Volunteer Notes:
We were not able to meet Carly. If you're interested in helping us meet the animals, please message us!

🔹 Intake:
6/28/2026: Three German Shepherds were reported at the entrance to the pool.

📝 Shelter Notes:

6/29/2026: At the front of the kennel Carly appeared semi-tense with a lowered head and low tail. She allowed leashing and walking to the runs without issue. While in the run she growled, showed whale eyes, tucked her tail, and approached cautiously but refused treats. She allowed leashing again and walked calmly back to her kennel. She removed the leash easily but barked at people passing by the kennel.

6/29/2026: Carly alarm barked as staff approached. She was leashed and walked to the back intake area. When another technician appeared she became focused and barked. She resisted restraint, required a muzzle, and struggled intensely ("alligator rolling," thrashing, and vocalizing) during handling before additional staff safely restrained her.

🚑 Medical Notes:

6/28/2026: Weighed 44.0 lbs. Intake condition normal.
6/29/2026: Heartworm test Negative. Vaccinated (DA2PP-V, Bordetella, Rabies), dewormed, and given flea prevention.

Rescue Only:

Urgent set for Euthanasia tomorrow 7/1 for space 🙁

Urgent set for Euthanasia tomorrow 7/1 for space 🙁
Luna #A1250176
Female, 3 years, 60 pounds
$0.00 ADOPTION!

Luna has been waiting at the shelter since 5/28 after being surrendered by her owner due to moving. Nearly 30 days later, this sweet girl is still waiting for someone to notice her.

Luna is a beautiful, affectionate dog who just needs a chance.

She was a little shy coming out of her kennel, but she leashed up nicely and happily joined me in the play yard. Once outside, her personality started to shine. Luna loves playing ball and will even bring it back for another throw. She appears to know some basic commands and enjoys interacting with her.

Luna lost her home through no fault of her own and deserves another chance with a family who will love her forever. Please help share Luna so she can finally be seen.

Playgroup: Shy coming out of the kennel but walks well. Calm in the yard. Likes the pool. Okay being greeted by other dogs but more interested in exploring the yard. Shelter cannot test with kids or cats.

💙🐶 Bryce #A2081226
6/16/26 Stray | Alaskan Husky Mix | Male | 2 Years Old | 48.4 lbs | HW High Positive

💙 Volunteer Notes:

We were not able to meet Bryce #A2081226. If you're interested in helping us meet the animals, please message us!

📝 Shelter Notes:

6/18/26: Bryce presented with a soft open mouth, wiggly body, and wagging tail. He licked staff members' hands during leashing and ran toward handlers when called in the runs.

6/19/26: Bryce was moved to adoptions. Staff described him as very sweet and friendly, quiet throughout cleaning, and attentive while watching staff work nearby.

6/20/26: During morning walks, Bryce continued jumping and bouncing off the kennel walls and gate while vocalizing. He also began low growling at another dog and then vocalizing toward them. He was placed on adoption evaluation.

6/21/26: Bryce jumped and bounced off the kennel walls and gate while vocalizing when staff approached. He kept his kennel clean overnight and was energetic but manageable on leash. While in the runs, he whined and leaned against the gate on his hind legs while vocalizing.

6/22/26: Bryce was jumping and bouncing off the kennel walls and gate while vocalizing. He kept his kennel clean overnight. He walked on a semi-loose leash but pulled forward on the way back and hopped around excitedly.

6/23/26: Bryce was vocal in his kennel when approached. Once leashed, he walked on a semi-tight leash to the runs and back to his kennel.

6/24/26: Bryce became vocal when other dogs walked by his kennel. Once outside, he pulled strongly on leash while exploring and sniffing. He was noted to be aroused during feeding times and frequently circled.

6/25/26: Bryce displayed a wiggly body and happy demeanor while "talking" before his walk. He walked with a tight leash ahead of the handler to the runs and back. After returning, he rested quietly on his bed.

6/26/26: Bryce was walking in circles in his kennel before going outside. He greeted staff with an open mouth and panting and walked forward on leash with a wagging tail. Upon returning to his kennel, he laid quietly on his bed to relax.

6/28/26: When approached, Bryce had a wagging tail, soft open mouth, and was very wiggly while jumping on the kennel door. He was fairly easy to leash but walked on a semi-tight leash due to pulling. While in the runs, he remained very vocal.

6/30/26: Bryce was extremely aroused in his kennel, jumping from wall to wall and heavily panting. He greeted staff at the kennel door with a wagging tail and erect ears but continued jumping and displaying high arousal.

🚑 Medical Notes:

• 2-year-old male weighing 48.4 pounds
• Heartworm positive
• No additional medical concerns documented

💙 Bryce appears to be a friendly, social young dog experiencing significant kennel stress and overstimulation in the shelter environment. Staff repeatedly describe him as sweet, affectionate, and eager to interact with people, with a loose, wiggly body and wagging tail. However, the shelter environment has caused escalating vocalization, barrier frustration, and arousal behaviors. Bryce urgently needs a calm environment where he can decompress, receive structure, and show the affectionate personality staff have consistently observed.

Cece has returned to the shelter she was adopted from 11 years ago. She desperately needs to be in a home. She’s 12 years old with mobility issues and declining quickly 😞

Cece is 12 years old and declining in Atlanta’s Fulton County Animal Shelter. There are almost 50 dogs over the humane capacity and that can cause a huge frenzy of saving dogs with deadlines. But it leaves dogs like Cece out of sight, out of mind when it comes to foster/rescue/adoption visibility.

Here is a little more about Cece:
Cece was adopted out of Fulton County Animal Services as a 1 year old dog. For more than a decade she had a home.

In May Cece was found wandering as a stray and brought back to the same shelter she was adopted from. For whatever reason the “adopters” never responded when the shelter reached out to them (multiple times).

Cece has mobility issues and for a senior dog in a concrete box.. I just need her out of there. I am not able to fospice due to my being a volunteer out of state and having own seniors dogs and cats myself.

I’ve shared Cece’s shelter link below.
