1. Yuji Itadori is immune to Mahito's ability to reshape souls with a touch, as he hosts Sukuna and can perceive the soul's outline, so he is one of the few people who can meaningfully damage Mahito directly. Anyone else is likely to get killed or turned into a horrifying abomination once Mahito touches them.(Jujutsu Kaisen)

2. Spider-Man is immune to Jean Grey's telepathy for most of the movie due to his Spidey-Sense, until the climax, where Jean's power increases massively. (Spider-Man: Brand New Day)

My examples are Transformers Prime Soundwave (compared to G1) and the Days of Future Past Movie Sentinels (compared to the comics)

These two examples are robots, but no need to be limited to them.

I really liked using these Pokémon, but here are some standouts:

Starmie’s powerful Surf and BoltBeam coverage (I used the emulator to save scum in Voltorb Flip) made up for it’s pre-Kanto lack of Psychic STAB

Heracross is a great Fighting-Type, and the effort I spent to level him up from 3 to 19 was worth it when I one-shot that Miltank with a critical hit Brick Break.

Mamoswine was able to dispatch at least 2 of Lance’s 3 Dragonites, because while I expected him to get knocked out by the Level 50 Dragonite since it was at low health, he instead knocked out the biggest Dragon with a critical hit Ice Shard.

Ampharos and Typhlosion are GOATed as always despite their general lack of coverage, though Ampharos’ Signal Beam was super useful for me, since I had no Dark-types for dealing with Will in the E4.

Crobat is nice but rather modest in terms of power. I am hoping to replace it with Dragonite later for the E4 rematches and maybe Red.

I have a couple of examples: Nolan's Oppenheimer and X-Men Apocalypse

Oppenheimer had a great buildup to the Trinity Test but Nolan decided gas explosions could mimic a nuke. Nolan ironically had a more convincing CGI nuke in The Dark Knight Rises.

The titular villain of X-Men Apocalypse was portrayed by Oscar Isaac in prosthetics. He looks like a ridiculous blue guy and Oscar Isaac couldn't have been wasted more. Just a couple of years later, we got Thanos, a big purple CGI villain and he looked amazing. The MCU also had a villain with a similar appearance to Apocalypse with Roan from Guardians of the Galaxy, and he was done with better prosthetics.
