My grandfathers old Seiko [7009-5008]. Wondering if I should pay to repair it?

For reference I’m 17 years old and I find it cool. But not sure how much it’d cost to repair

Currently my only one as a 17 year old!

Need to renew it next month and then comes the redesign

Then I’m going to start plans for a British and Italian and maybe German since I’m eligible for all three

Though I really hope the Italian side goes smoothly because that’s my easiest path and I have an attachment to the country

Anywho! Excited for the road ahead

Some interesting projections

Military strength would be competitive too. And imagine a shared travel benefit and sheer amount of educated people.

~150 million amazingly educated English speaking engineers, doctors, tech...

And a EU-sort passport of free travel

(17 year old Canadian by the way)

Ya’ll where the actual hell do you guys eat your Tim Hortons. I swear I’ve never had a problem in the entirety I’ve ordered at Tim’s. Aside from burnt coffee

All these hair and weird foreign Doritos in your food. Happy to say I haven’t got it

It’s official! I’m applying for Italian citizenship

Thank you all for your comments on my last two posts (now deleted)

My weird and sticky situation as a 17 year old actually ended up being quite straightforward. So when I’m 18 I’ve decided to apply for Italian citizenship via jure sanguinis

My biological grandparents and mother being born in Italy apparently makes me right on the cuff. So in the meantime I’ll be trying to teach myself Italian

Excited! Thanks all

What should I expect going to Italy. Plus, what are some great Southern Italian cities to visit?

Ciao e buon pomeriggio splendide persone!

Me and my twin brother (both now 17 years old) are planning a trip to Italy after finding out we're Italian this year where we also found out our biological family is Southern Italian.

We're both looking forward to hopefully becoming citzens of Italy and have started learning Italian and are very excited to finally visit for the first time. Hopefully soon.

I'm just wondering if there are specific things we should expect when visiting, and whether there are some beautiful Southern Italian restaurants, hotels, attractions etc to see (given that's where our heritage originates)

For perspective, we're both Canadian and have not travelled outside of Canada except visiting the States.

Thanks so much!

I just got $100 deposited into my account randomly????

Originally thought the “e-transfer was deposited” message was a scam so I sent laughing emojis.

But apparently that was a legit bank confirmation message because I have the money in my account now

It’s for “commodore ballroom” which is some place in Vancouver. I live in Ontario

What do I do?

There’s a name on it but I looked him up and no one comes up

Is this a scam??

Is it worth it for me to apply for Italian citizenship?

So I’m 17 years old, and just recently found out I’m Italian after finding out I was adopted.

I’m very sentimental and interested in heritage so this got me interested in Italy.

However, I’m not sure if it’s smart to apply for citizenship myself (next year would be when I would do it) given I’m Canadian, and also me not knowing whether my biological parents had citizenship etc (which would be a massive process).

Also, I was thinking. I don’t speak Italian, I’m not familiar with Italian culture, and really the only driver of my want for this would be emotional/heritage.

If needed, I’d learn Italian.

But curious whether the pros outweigh the cons. And whether it’s smart or not to allow my emotions to take control of what might be a years long process

It’s interesting because I’m very proud that I’m Italian now, because I love Italy and Italian culture.

But as a person I consider myself Canadian, and (here’s my thought process) if the time ever came to go to war and I had to pick between two passports, I would choose to die for Canada ten times before I thought about Italy.

I feel I already know the answer to this. But would appreciate some extra perspective/insight.

Thanks

What are the best poutine places in all of Canada?

Ok, so maybe this is the wrong sub. But I’m trying it anyway.

I just turned 17 and got my G2, and my car will be on the road in a day or two.

I’m on a mission to drive wherever to get my hands on the most beautiful and delicious and poutines possible in all of the land.

I live in Ontario for context.

Hot take: Ferrari should acquire Maserati and Alfa Romeo

At the very least just Alfa Romeo. Then they could have Ferrari as the high end division, and Alfa as the commerical-oriented division.

Stellantis is a joke of a company, and Ferrari has the money to support (dare I say even grow) these other Italian brands in desperate need of rejuvenation

The company also lost $25b last year, and only made $400 million in the first quarter (~$1.6b per year) so...

Just watched Obsession as a 17 year old (on digital)

Long story short, I’m pissed I didn’t see it in theatres. Goddamn that was an amazing movie. The last 10 minutes was insane.

10/10 awesome

2024 Audi R3 vs 2022 Alfa Romeo Giulia?

Audi has around 65,000km, Alfa with 45,000km

I heard Alfa is the better drivers car and nothing gets better at this level. But reliability is a concern, especially with electronics

All in Canadian dollars

(Edit: I meant A3 not R3)
