Bathhouse Missed Connection Saturday!

Bathhouse on Saturday, you showed me how to setup a custom sauna tracker workout on my garmin and you complimented my 5k time.

We bonded over dislike of a steam room and then we never ran into each other again!

NYC Equinox Bucket List

I am about to give up my equinox membership in 1-2 months. What are some bucket list clubs to check out before defecting? For reference, I have the membership that allows you to go most places other than Hudson Yards. (Not sure what this is called.)

Confessions of a taco-bell employee

I have been working at tacobell for a little over a year now and here are some things I feel the need to confess. Don’t attack me, I make $12.50 an hour and all bad habits were taught by management

1. half the time your Mexican pizzas are made with red sauce instead of Mexican pizza sauce. Either morning crew didn’t make any or we’re too lazy

2. the more food you order, the more likely your food will be half assed. Nobody is putting their all into a 25 item order

3. if you have a particularly big delivery order and it’s really late at night, (we close at 5, say you order at 4) we’re just gonna swipe it down and say it’s already been picked up. I sometimes feel bad whenever there’s 3 - 4 dashers there to pick up an order I know was swiped down. We also sometimes do this mid day when we just don’t feel like it … sorry

4. If you order something vegetarian/vegan it’s 99% contaminated. Cheese falls in the lettuce, gloves aren’t changed specifically to make your order, the Mexicans pizza are cut using the same cutter (veggie or beef), etc

5. Half the time your quesadillas aren’t being steamed, they’re just thrown on the grill

6. Honestly, managers will make your food the worst. They try and cut cost any and everywhere

7. We train all the new people on delivery orders, so if your burrito is rolled terribly that’s probably why

TO CLARIFY!!
- These are my confessions!! MINE
- I’m not speaking for EVERYYYY Taco Bell in existence (I thought that was understood idk)
- Guys I make less than $13 an hr, I really don’t care to argue
- We are a clean store, my manager cares about food safety (to an extent :3)

STOP MESSAGING ME
Probably gonna delete this post soon, you guys are being wayyyyy too crazy about me being a shit worker at Taco Bell😔 I’m not working at a life changing job or anything. Likeee idk how you see this post and say “you’re definitely gonna be a poor, lazy, piece of shit for the rest of your life, you dumb bitch” (several variations of this in the replies) I’m an 18 y/o working at Taco Bell, no amount of comments is gonna make me get off my ass and work harder. I can’t imagine how you guys talk to people in your everyday life, omgggg. I started this post with saying I was sorry, but i’m genuinely not. If these are the types of people i’m serving, you can get BELOW the bare minimum.

BEFORE YOU WRITE YOUR SUPER NASTY REPLY. I RECOMMEND GETTING A LIFE!!!
YOU PEOPLE. CANNOT BE THIS PASSIONATE ABOUT TACO BELL WTF??

I don’t understand the posts about affording the Bay Area?

Spicy title, but hear me out. My partner and I make $150k (combined! We both work at nonprofits, not tech related). We live in a 3 bedroom in Oakland that we absolutely love. Before this we made 90k combined and lived in a one-bedroom that was a little too small but a great location. We get takeout multiple times a week, go to ticketed events usually once a week, we travel, get tattoos, it’s not like we’re monks. We’re not investing huge amounts but I max out my IRA every year. We don’t have kids, but we do have pets. And I have a ton of other friends in our situation in the Bay Area — nonprofit workers making $80k with a kid, tattoo artists and masseuses and bartenders working for cash making $50-60k a year. When I see posts like, “Is $350k enough to live in the Bay Area?” I feel like I’m on a different planet. Is it a quality of life thing? A childcare thing? A housing thing? Maybe we live in different spheres of the Bay but I’m having a great time in mine and I’m here to say that you don’t need a huge salary to live happily here, especially if you’re willing to be flexible.

An Open Letter to the Driver Who Revs His Deafening Exhaust in the Neighborhood Every Day

We get it: you are very cool. You are like the Fonz, but times a hundred. No, two hundred. You are definitely not overcompensating for any feelings of emasculation, inadequacy, low self-esteem, or general absence of friends or people who enjoy your company.

Every day, we DUMBO residents -- the lowly, uncool, vehicle-less peasants that we are -- remain continuously awestruck by you as you ramble callously through our neighborhood each afternoon. We aspire to one day own a similar car that splits our ear drums, wakes our napping children, and implodes the sanity of our cats and dogs. Are you able to spell "cat" even if we spotted you the "a" and the "t"? Or, instead of intellectual pursuits, do you simply spend your free time trying to devour public attention like a famished warthog?

I know, I know, we wouldn't understand. Again, we are not as cool as you. We can only dream of one day also owning a vainglorious Douchemobile. One whose howling, earth-shattering exhaust reverberates all the way up to the heavens, loudly enough that God Himself shies away, fearful of the histrionic egomaniac He has created here on Earth.

Thank you for your daily contributions to our lovely corner of the city. You couldn't see your d**k with the Hubble telescope.

With love,

All of us
