Serial number different on tool vs. box…bought from major home center store.

purchased a saw from a home center store that is orange in color. seems new in box but the serial number on the box is different than the tool (two last digits on box say -16 but tool says -06).

is this anything to be concerned about? never seen this before.

How often/long do you have to wear retainers after Invisalign?

I've heard a lot of different things, but how long/often do you have to wear retainers after Invisalign?

My understanding is in the beginning you have to wear it every single night, but does it transition eventually to X-times per week?

AirPods Pro Generation 2 - sound muffled when on calls. How to fix?

Voice sounds very muffled when using AirPods to make phone call (not an issue when using phone microphone).

Is this a known issue with this generation or something that can be cleaned to improve sound clarity? I feel like the "stalk" of the AirPods is touching my face when I do use it. Could this be a contributing factor or is this pretty common?

How does an air scrubber (HEPA) compare to a traditional air purifier?

https://preview.redd.it/vt1cpklka2ah1.jpg?width=600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f3bb350ae035dbd7cc2cc67a01e6ba8cbdf4746e

How do air scrubbers like these commercial style used in restoration/remodeling differ from a traditional style one?

We have used Coway ones for a while and was just curious how these differ.

Does this actually function different than traditional ones or is it fundamentally the same and just designed for different markets?

What does it mean if you have a shop at your residence?

what is a “shop”? a workshop? is this different than a garage? (If I understand a shop is more of a free standing building like a metal building in somebody’s yard?)

Air mover vs. box/pedestal fan. What to use to cool a hot (100F) garage?

Do one of these styles work better than the other when it comes to cooling a hot garage you're working in? I was thinking of a traditional 20" box fan but some people online have suggested air movers and was just curious how that compares. Or is there something completely different that would work?

two car, 550sq ft area roughly.

An aerodynamics question: traditional box/pedestal fan vs. air mover to cool a hot garage

Would a traditional box/pedestal fan or an air mover (the type used to dry carpet after cleaning, for example) work better to cool a "standard" 500-600sq ft garage.

How does the spinning motion of a traditional fan cool better or worse than an air mover that just puts out what seems like a "jet stream" of air?

Fan or air mover for cooling hot garage?

What's a good way to keep a hot (100F) garage cooler? I was thinking a box/pedestal fan but reading online, some people seem to be using air movers. This would be for a ~550 sq ft garage (two car).

edit: I've found that the air mover moves air more in a straight line and if it is pointed at you, it's VERY effective, but just curious what would be better for making the overall space/environment feel cooler.

Makita fan (either 18v or 40v) suggestions? Are they powerful?

We have a Ryobi 7-1/2" whisper series fan that supposedly puts out 680 CFM (https://www.protoolreviews.com/ryobi-18v-hybrid-portable-fan-review/).

Looking at the DCF201Z and it says it only puts out 290 CFM (yet is larger at 9"). Is Ryobi artificially inflating numbers or is there another spec (perhaps m/s) that is more important?

We are open to either LXT or XGT fans -- looking for something that can be brought if you have a picnic, working in yard, etc. (probably not the 17"+ models).

Our highest capacity LXT batteries are 5Ah. XGT we have 8Ahs (in addition to smaller ones).

What are most retirees doing for dental insurance (esp. when your dentist isn't in-network with any carrier)?

Previously had employer dental. We love our dentist however they are not in network with any carrier.

What do most retirees end up doing for dental insurance?

Is it possible (or likely worth it) to buy a PPO individual plan (we are not willing to go on DHMO plan since we want to keep our dentist)?

Self-pay?

Henry, do you need the Wessel-Werk TK286 or RD285?

Purchased Henry 160. First time user. Did some research on which attachments to use and it seems this sub recommends the TK286 and RD285.

Are these truly necessary to get best performance or should we just wait and use the included floor brush (the one with the switch). We have both carpet and hard floors (probably 50/50).

How is the StrengthErg?

Now that the StrengthErg has been out for a while, how is it?

We do not have one nearby to demo. This would be for family who is a bit older (60-70).

Would it be a good choice for those who have joint problems (esp. knee) as in, is it low impact? Didn't know how much strain is put on the knees during the push motion.

Did Henry’s 🇬🇧 performance drop with newer reduced wattage motors?

Thinking about picking up a Henry HVR160. Doing some research saw that previously it was ~1200w however due to regulations in the UK, further reduced to ~600w now.

Does the reputation for performance remain unchanged or has been there a noticeable reduction in CFM/water lift/performance?

Also, is the longer 33’ cord on the 200 worth it compared to the 20’ on the 160? I don’t think we need the larger bag capacity but wasn’t sure if the added cord length was very beneficial.

These are quite expensive in the U.S. — just wanting to make sure they are still a great option.

Thank you!

Henry in the U.S. - HVR160 vs. HVR200?

Is the general consensus to get the 160 or 200? My understanding is 200 is original.

Also, does the “extra” version with the accessories add anything meaningful to the standard kit? We will be using on exclusively hard floors (with a couple small low pile entry mats).

Lastly, do the bags really last that much longer? Use to emptying the Dyson V11 routinely. We would have to buy bags from Amazon USA so it’s an added expense ($2-3/bag) but I’m hearing they are giant and should last months.

Why are the holes in this connector from Simpson Strong Tie not evenly spread out?

I am curious, why are the holes in this connector not evenly spaced out?

For example, the triangle holes (which, according to the fastening guide, provide additional/max strength) are offset to the right. Then there's a weird angle/offsets of some of the circle holes as well.

In my mind a uniform/even pattern of connectors would be most secure. What's the engineering reason though?

What else can a rotary hammer do besides breaking concrete?

Have a small demo project involving some relatively thin (2") concrete. Never used a rotary hammer and thinking about getting corded Bosch Bulldog (only about $60 more than HF model) and adding a chisel bit instead of taking a sledge to it.

We are heavily invested into Makita (both 18V and 40V). What other useful things can a rotary hammer do that would justify going cordless?

We rarely will be breaking up concrete. It really is a one off. Just curious what other attachments may be nice.

One thing I was specifically interested is...could a rotary hammer help with digging (spade attachment) instead of using a traditional shovel? If joint problems make it difficult to dig/plant things, could this be a good tool to have?
