But that era also included terrifying people like this guy and his sons who engaged in a lot of heinous criminal activity that was destroying neighborhoods and families, much of it ignored by and protected by law enforcement.

East Boston and North Shore people know to get up early on the weekend and head to Katz Bagels, not too early or you won't get the pumpernickel or everything bagels, the bagel dogs and pizza bagels might not be ready either. But hit that place at the sweet spot in the morning and leave with the best bagels in the area. Cream cheese with or without chives, no frills, no sandwiches, no fancy cheeses, no toasters. This guy knew how to make a perfect bagel.
