Homemade VietCong pistol.

Figured you guys would get a kick out of this. I was gifted this really neat piece of history today. I have a family member who served in the Vietnam war and who brought this back. It’s a crude break open single shot pistol and an awesome piece of history :D

My great grandfather in North Louisiana before being drafted into the Army. - 1943

Born poor in a small Rural Louisiana town my great grandfather would eventually be drafted into the U.S. Army in 1943 at the age of 20.

In the following year he would take part in the battle of the bulge as a field technician, carrying an M1 Thompson submachine gun and helping repair allied telephone lines. He never saw much combat but did have to fire a few sprays at Germans in the nearby tree line.

He would be discharged in 1945, return to Louisiana and peacefully pass away at home at the age of 99.
