i am considering being stan pines from gravity falls for halloween, but i hear there have been controversies over his hat being "racist"?? i don't really get it but i should probably check in first

where do i get better drum sounds? i like souds from old machines (preffered but not mandatory) and i like the sounds that sound timeless. like not obvious when it came out and doesn't soudn modern (as in trendy or dated to now. like if it sounds like it could still be used today that's great) . and i like drums with punch, like timbaland. also prefereably free or at least cheap. what should i get?

i dont even have the console anymore but i found an old ps2 game and the format of the audio files (bnk) are not supported on my windows 11 computer. how do i play them on my computer without the console and save them so i have them downloaded even without the disc in the computer

legendary synth preset from before sampling laws were better enforced. it takes vocals from an older song but this preset comes from a synth

in case you don’t know who they are (im one of the few teenagers today who does) theyre an 80s-90s rap group and i love their music but i also love their fashion and i occasionally get clothing items that remind me of them. how attractive is that style on boys? (some of their outfits are weird tho so judge off their ones that aren’t weird)

first of all, it's pretty expensive. i'm 15 and i don't have a job, and i don't know how i could get one now, as i don't drive, and my mom is super busy and can't drive me around all the time reliably.

also, my production, currently on ableton, uses a lot of sidechaining (especially stuff to the kick), saturation, resampling, left/right isolation, panning, stereoized widening (sometimes for audio samples too, so i can't always just play it twice), some sampling (and i can't afford to get everything on vinyl), audio cutoffs, repitching, etc. like my main influence is timbaland. plus, (i have intro, so it's not included) ableton's drum buss sounds so cool, how do i do that on hardware?

also i use some vst emulations and wav samples of analog gear (like the triton, m1, 808, mophatt, asr-x, etc), and the real gear is SO expensive.

also i use some of the old 90's sample cds, how do i use that without a daw? (i know it's possible, that's what they were meant for). plus, i sometimes use more modern sounds like trap drums (rarely), and also some of the wav files of old gear that's super expensive, so i may need to burn my own cds of those sounds.

plus i'm more of a beatmaker than a producer, so i need to be able to make the idea quickly before like recording everything.

also if it matters, i'm thinking of starting a 70s-80s classic rock-like band. but i know that's very acheivable recording-wise, as tape machines were literally how those were recorded. but i would want to do that on the side, not as a main goal.

and using the big tape recorders seems really cool, but they're super expensive
