WIP in early stages, building a Firestrike servo-turret for display in my personal collection and thought of doing it from the IF because of defensive connotations! It will also be my first IF

Thought to share the buttons because the fluor paints look cool!

Today i got these 2 book from AK, with lots of diorama tutorials 400+ pages and 100+ the water and snow extension (there are more extensions), imo this will be a lot more useful for me than watching YT tutorials, with lots of pics, techniques, explanations etc.

I'm the kind of person who has bought lots of diorama products in the last year or so but doesn't actually know how to squeeze all its potential, and i find a physical book much more quick to check and easy to understand than some confusing videos. I'm really excited to start applying some of the techniques and ideas!

Was friendly fire a feature that was supposed to be a core feature but scraped at the later stages of the development?

I have this theory mainly because, as many of you noticed, the game has voice lines when someone gets in your line of fire, but not only because of that, Saber has the record to make coop pve games with friendly fire, such as World War Z and the more recent Toxic Commando, both have it and also voice lines for when it happens too, but maybe they backpedaled because it was going to be a super popular franchise like 40k and GW didn't want to or something?

I wasn't aware until i assembled it, this model screams to do sub-assembly 200%

I was mindlessly building it when in the last step i saw how close are the arms and wings to pretty much everything, if you want to do a decent coverage without accidentally tainting the surroundings it is a must, thankfully i was able to detach them before the glue melted with the torso...

Another model from the Tome Keepers, the Armageddon Ancient

Changed the bolter with a power fist and added a book on the top of the banner to make it more in the line with the TKs lore

My version of the Armageddon Ancient from the Tome Keepers chapter.

Changed the arm with the bolter with a power fist from the primaris lieutenant, and used a Dark Angels book for the top of the banner, erasing the DA marking.

I would like to share my Tome Keepers 1st company captain in terminator armor in this sub (and a bit of lore)

I thought to share this here since they are not super popular so i consider them obscure, is one of my personal fav chapters, this is not new it was made a couple months ago tho.

This chapter is one of those who mostly follow the codex astartes rules for their battle role, squad and company color markings except for 1 major deviation, the shoulder trim is always black and the company color goes on the aquila/imperialis on the chest, aside from that the veterans, lieutenants, and Vet Sargeants have a specific 2 color pattern divided between the mouth plate and the rest of the helmet, battle brothers and captain use the base parchment color like the rest of the armor.

The chaplains in this chapter are called Orators.

The scout neophytes here are called "pages"

They are UM successors, their homeworld is a desertic planet called Istrouma in the segmentum pacificus which also has a part volcanic, the interesting lore of the people of Istrouma is that the names of the people and culture are based in the ancient Babylonian culture, the planet orbits around a white dwarf Star which is represented in their chapter badge in the center of the tome, this star is extremely radioactive and half the planet is not suitable for human life at all, it's inhabitants live in the dark side of the planet to avoid as much as possible this exposition to the radiation.

This does not serve as a total protection despite choosing such location, the population of this planet have short lives, around 30y before they die from diseases caused by this radiation, that's why as part of their culture and tradition they write off all the experience they acquire during their short lives so future generations can read it and learn, they store all this massive amount of tomes and books in the huge library they have in their capital city on istrouma, Niveneh.

The tome keepers recruit people from this world and lots of initiates feel weird and uncomfortable when they become an astartes, suddenly they can resist the radiation that is killing it's people constantly, also making lots of them feel guilty for "cheating" death while their family and friends continue to die at young age.

Then as an astartes they continue to carry a personal book or tome where they write up all the experience they acquire during their military campaigns, serving as both a personal journal, observations and notes about the enemies they encounter, like how to beat them and what to be aware of.

They are more pragmatic and logical than fanatic zealots and because of that they had some issues with the black templars in the past.

When a TK falls in battle the apothecary's duty is not only to collect their gene-seed but also their personal journal, and when they have a moment of calm they perform a ceremony where a close battle brother (probably a squad mate) writes a few last words on the fallen brother's jornal relating how he has fallen in battle and who he was in an heroic way. This ceremony is called the closing of the book.

The chapter most precious relic is stored in their fortress monastery and it's called the white book, it's kept in a stasis field to preserve it from further deterioration since it's thousands of years old, it was given as a gift to the Astartes from the people of istrouma when they established this world as the homeworld several thousand years ago, back then it already was it's most ancient and voluminous tome full of knowledge.

There are more bits of lore but i think i covered a good part of it. (Sorry if i made typos)

Tire markings on non-asphalt terrain advice

Besides the online tutorials, i wanted to ask if someone who has made them has some useful tips or details to share to make them as accurate and visible as possible, i want to make some 40k outriders in a desert or regular dirt ground, I never tried to make this before.
