How do I run the old Bryce 3D? I'm on a 2023 Macbook Pro with MacOS 14

I see the instructions for installing "bryce 7", but I'm trying to install the old old bryce, after seeing how they used it on Corridor's channel. I think they were running it on old machines, but couldn't it be emulated on newer ones somehow?

Is there a word for the kind of "spicy" that's not spicy, like wasabi, radishes and even possibly arugula?

I'm trying to figure out how to describe that type of feeling. Can't seem to think of any other word than "it has a kick to it"

What other hosting companies use Wordpress easily like Namecheap? After their data outage I want to drop them asap

I do like how in cpanel I can just install and update wordpress easily, no need to upload things to a server manually.

I don't want to use anything like squarespace, and right now I have 2 websites both using wordpress on my namecheap host.

Are there other alternatives, that aren't owned by private equity, or have some problematic business dealings like godaddy?

How does one get a bartending job these days?

I've been a designer + artist the past 20 years, but I used to work in a few restaurants years ago, before I was 21 so was never able to work at the bars. The industries I've been working in have only been able to give me spotty work at best, and short contracts the past few years, so I need other options that can be more long term.

Back then all I'd do is look for "now hiring" signs and walk in, fill out a paper application, and wait for them to call me for an interview. I'm guessing that process is out of date now, so how do people with no experience bartending find bartending jobs?

I know I'm not coming in with years of experience as a mixologist, but I've done so many different kinds of work through my life, I know I can pick up the job and do it well pretty quickly.

I think I heard of some kind of food service staffing agencies too, which could actually be ideal with having less experience, and if I need to work for only a certain period of time. But I've never worked with any agencies like that. I do have a lot of experience with both corporate design staffing and factory labor staffing, so I know the process of that very well.

Other than that, are there ways to find open jobs directly or is the only way to walk in, give them a firm handshake, and ask "I heard y'all are hirin?"

Is there a plugin that would let me have a link or button that pops up a video player?

I already use a pretty nice plugin for popup galleries that can scroll through all the images on a page, but I want to show a longer video ad that I made, and have some way to show the looping gif preview on the page itself, and for people who want to watch the whole thing, just click a button and have it pop up in a lightbox or something.

Right now I have the video as its own page, which is a little too much for how much I'm showing on that page, compared to the other pages

This is for a portfolio

Was there a cut scene in S1 Ep 8?

When adam takes her around the corner he says "sorry for yelling at that car", then it cuts and they're suddenly plastering signs on a wall in the distance.

Seems like it'd be for a commercial break, but HBO has no commercials. Was something cut?

Where could I go to help get a pretty old graphic novel I made some promotion?

I want to sell more copies of my graphic novel. It's pretty old, came out in 2016, and I have hundreds of copies still.

The cost of making it was paid for via kickstarter so I'm not technically losing money on it, but I want to get rid of the copies and not have to shred them.

Since it's old, I'm not sure where I can go to ask for any kinds of reviews, as it's not a "new shiny book" or anything.

Are there good sites or video reviewers that actually get views that I could submit it to for a review? Back when it came out I had good luck with that kind of thing with a few blogs, etc. but the blogging days are over and done with it seems.

Where can I post my shiny new demo reel?

I made a pretty quick demo reel, not gonna share it here since it's against the rules, but where else can I share it?

I've already hit: instagram, linkedin, and a couple discords, and a slack channel that'd be a long shot for animation work but hopefully someone there shares it elsewhere too.

Need to figure out how to get a replacement locking screw for bed frame

Just moved and the movers assembled our bed for us, but now it's missing one of the locking screws. I'm very careful about the bed not falling apart because cats are always laying underneath it.

This is the kind of locking screw that comes with a lot of ikea furniture, but this bed isn't ikea. It's not for sale anymore, is there some way I can find out what size screw + lock it is, so I can buy a replacement?

Amana gas stove, when I turn the back burner on, it lights the front burner...

No flames will come out of the front burner by just doing this, but! if I turn the front burner so gas is coming out, and then turn the back burner to "ignite", it will light the front burner

When I took the little gas distributing caps off of the burner to see what it was doing, the back burner has no spark coming on at all, and it will spark the front burner.

The front burner will spark and ignite just fine using that dial.

The other 2 burners work fine too.

Is this some kind of wiring issue, or something easy to fix? Is it dangerous?

Do any seniors in here have multi page resumes?

I've only been in animation for about 4 or so years, including the volunteer project I worked on way back then, but I've been doing web design and graphic design since 20 years ago. I know all that work is relevant as it actually isn't much different than working on an animation team, other than the work itself we're making is a different kind of thing, but the team structure and communication skills I've learned over the years (as a lead now) have helped me transition to animation very seamlessly.

The problem is, since around 2019, I've been doing a bunch of shorter term freelance web design projects, so my resume is pretty goddam long. I've tried to fit everything in one page and it's basically impossible to make it relevant and include stuff that's needed—even with the work I've kept off the resume.

Would it be weird or off putting to recruiters or art directors to have a 2 page resume, with one page showing my work history and the other page showing skills, classes I've taken, awards, etc? That page might be a little sparse but I can design them much easier if they're split like that.

I just don't want recruiters to open it and say "what the hell, why is this so long?"

I'm looking for the video of a recent/current fox news ad that was playing during the world cup

It's a fox news ad that shows a bunch of "people" in washington DC, then the camera zooms over the washington monument pool and the fox news hosts all standing on its ledge, then past the white house. All of it is AI except the fox news hosts

This was playing all the time during the world cup but we had it on TV and couldn't record the screen.

I can't find it on youtube or anything. Not sure where it would be or how I could find this.

If there's some recording of the world cup from fox, it'll probably be in there, but no idea where to find that either.

How to export video with correct colors? I'm doing video for use on the web, and sometimes they need to be next to an actual hex code color, so far it's coming out wrong no matter what I try

Those should be the same blue. I copied the hex code + RGB from the site code itself, not eyedropper sampled or anything.

Just adopted a cat from the ASPCA, but the medical records are different than what they told me

I had a couple concerns from other subs and they recommended I post this question here:

The ASPCA told me she was both negative for FIV + FeLV, but I don't see any tests for that on her medical records. Is that something I should be worried about her possibly being positive for either? Especially since we already have a cat here.

I asked them to call me but they said they might not be able to get back to me for a couple days, so I'm wondering how bad to worry about this: a lot? a little? or not at all?

I haven't had any experience with these kinds of things with cats before, our cat who's been with us for a long time and other cats we've babysat for never had any of those issues

Previous concern about lesions on her jaw, which is why I started looking at the medical records and noticed no FIV/FeLV testing:

The cat has some lesions under her chin, on the medical records it says "integument: dark debris on chin, focal erythematous lesion of left sided commisure"

and "follicular kerantinization present on chin, mild dermatitis present on left oral commissure, roughly 2cm"

I'm wondering if this is something to be worried about or contagious to other cats, as we already have a cat here (they're separated as we planned to introduce them slowly)
