Replaced points but still popping

This is running 2 condensers and has me confused. I want to pull it all out and start over. Coil, points and condensers are new. I can go to the barn this afternoon and show how both are hooked up.

It definitely still welds fine but want it purring

Dang, can’t drive it to the cookin’

Started at 10 am, replaced master cylinder and bled brakes, replaced clutch master and slave and got it all bled. She runs, shifts and stops but running on a temporary tank. Just this minute discovered the fuel pump is shot. I didn’t see it on YouTube or anything but it is pretty easy to pull both parts of the clutch and bleed them on the bench together
Last on the road in 12
Oh well, I’m done in this Tx heat.

Can anyone on a computer get into AGCO Publications?

I won’t be around a desktop and want to download a service manual for a new idea 5409. I want to see if it is the site or phone. Thanks

Can anyone tell me what capacitor? Dayton 4m250a

I need two caps for some chicken house fans. One cap is missing and the other screws are rusted on. I would like to grab them while I am in town instead of going home and dealing with a rusty cover

Need parts guidance please

We drug up a nice 85 C30 cab and chassis with the M code LT9 . Fired up and runs after 12 years but missing a stud and looks like bad gasket or ring.

I know it takes the triangle 3 hole gasket but does it also use a ring inside?

This one is a bit different as it has the large 2bbl Rochester with the vacuum governor.

I believe I need a stud, gasket and maybe ring, correct?

The manifolds are 1408 1238. Were these factory in 85? The truck is incredibly stock, owned by a feed store.

Quick question before I buy the wrong thing.

The 85 C30 runs great but has a nasty exhaust leak. I am getting confused because o don’t see the rams horns on a stock c30. They all show end dumps.

I am going to get new gaskets and was wondering, are these studs or bolts? Everything shows studs with a spring and nut.

Were these center dumps stock on a M “big truck” code motor? It does have the vacuum governed 2bbl carb so I guess it may not look like most of the internet pics

Petey has advice for his Euro friends!

Keep your dangly bits cool in the heatwave!

u/CaryWhit — 10 days ago

I worked on this in the 80’s.

It was definitely for looks because it was so poorly lifted it was almost useless. It looks like it was brought down some.

Am going to look at it at an estate sale here in a bit. I bet it is priced stupid high!

u/CaryWhit — 11 days ago

I have never messed with one of these.

So the 1 ton cab and chassis has the m code motor with the vacuum governed carb. I hope it works decent as is but is this setup worth keeping? Long term it will get a new manifold and 4bbl but for now it will get rebuilt or replaced with a more standard Rochester 2bbl

Are these as finicky as the internet makes them out to be? It seems like consensus is, if it works, leave it.

Saving a 1 ton today.

The 3/4t is finished so it is time to grab another project. Good 350 4 speed with rockers and cab corners

Let’s send Buddy a hug and also call him a doofus!

Pool cover came off at nanas today while Buddy was down there while I was working. They had just dumped all of the really bad stuff in to start killing the algae and Buddy darts out, dives in, swims laps and drinks a few gallons while ignoring everyone and not coming out.

He started throwing up and knowing it was Pool shock and Muriatic acid, he took a trip to the emergency vet.

All good, an anti nausea shot and a couple of days of prescription strength pepto and he should be good.

He is sleeping off the shot right now under the covers which he never does.

It ONLY cost 400! I was told he was swimming laps, getting out, zooming then diving back in while being chased and begged!

Dufus!

Aww Buddy got the puppy he has been wanting!

Well temporarily, hopefully. Saved this little Yorkie off the highway and Buddy is smitten. It can move and he licks it. He looks and treats him like he is made of glass.

Yes we are going to do all the right stuff and check for a chip and post all around. We couldn’t catch the other one, it went into the woods and won’t let you get within 20 feet. We will let it calm down and go back in a few minutes

I would like to put a union here.

I hate having to work back here and the pipes to the filter have unions but I don’t see an easy way to cut and change this short section

Is channel 12 an entry level training news station?

It seems like 12 is a training place for new hosts, reporters and weather folk.

It is interesting watching them go from bad to polished and good before they move on. The meteorologist CJ announced he is leaving today. I remember laughing hard when he first started and a tornado warned storm was moving from Nacogdoches to Natchitoches and he flubbed both names and got totally flustered.

So does 12 hire new kids and expect them to gain experience and move on?

Ranch truck threw a shoe!

If you are on a multigenerational place, you know that “nobody” is responsible for maintenance or fixing something while it is small. Nope, jumped in to drive it after fixing the cold pipe and she ground once then refused to move forward.

I diagnosed that noise because it was even jacked up. It didn’t hurt the rotor but chewed up a piston. I smoothed it off and she is all done! I’m absolutely sure it is time for rotors but I’m not buying them. Will have to be a family meeting

Do you ever miss having a big dumb dog?

And not a furry genius who wants to control everything? I am literally trying to explain a power outage to my dog.

“Father, it is dark but not bedtime and the magic window is closed. I may not get to bark at Lemu the Emu. What can I do?”

Alright folks need troubleshooting advice

Brother in laws 454 is overheating at idle. Has Summit aluminum radiator, dual 12v fans and all new hoses and water pump. We just set timing correctly.

When we got the truck we flushed the block really well.

Any ideas what to check?

Got any Speed Rackers in your area?

My area has lots of folks out on the roads hauling butt. Fun smooth ride. Sunday afternoon road trips are pretty common.
