Got a call the other day, old motor in storage building
Sure we want it. Until I can get it on a stand, I know it is a bbc with a Q jet. Only casting I can see before I start pulling stuff

I mainly do small business IT but always have a few gamers around. Friend and his wife want to do a medium high GSPro with a Mavco2. ( I don’t know any of this hardware personally)
I hope it is ok to attach specs and prices before I send it to him. Also do you need a standard second monitor?
I have everything but the 3060. I do have a 1070 but I would want to shoot for high 1080
First this person is a truck flipper and a pretty good mechanic so I am trying to figure out the deep dive on why he got this truck back and can’t sell it.
I am the small town IT guy who handles a couple of dozen small businesses. My problem is I don’t live inside the city limits or have any business service so I can’t answer these questions.
Why are people telling me that they are getting quotes for 200 a month minimum. An extra 100 to keep a landline number. They are serviced by Optimum and I know their fiber is 120 to 150.
Also, do you think the sbcglobal.net portal will stay operational long term? I got some old folks whose life is basically tied to those addresses.
What are folks recommending to small businesses? AT&T is offering them nothing and reportedly seems standoffish and not really caring to keep their business
I have posted this truck before but I want it running and driving before I tear into body restoration.
Idi runs good but needs help starting. Smells like diesel opening the hood.
So if I spend a couple of hundred and get a new full fuel line return kit and do the glow plug upgrade, that will probably free me up to move onto the next parts?
It has hit the real hot stage and I can put this in between my house and small shop and have ac. I think it will be a good summer project. I haven’t touched it because it is out in the sun on soft dirt so no easy way to work on it.
This is the one that has rust through on the drip rails.
I am going to bleed the rears on the 1 ton c&c tomorrow afternoon and have time to get a wrench from Amazon.
I understand bleeding the rears are incredibly tight and a specialty wrench is highly recommended. Is there a specific one or this Lisle the one?
Got a perfectly usable set of Michelins for the C30
Plus the rims are better than on front so it will get some good steer tires on the new front rims.
Buddy does not beg for food. Much worse, the intensity of the stare would make the most hardened criminal confess!
This is another thing where he sees no difference between dog and human. If I eat then he should eat!
We live on a family compound and for some reason Abby has decided that her home life is somehow lacking and now anytime the door opens she runs away to nana’s house. For a few days she was returned but I notice now that she is always at this house. I guess she got tired of her son.
I’m driving and just saw this 30 with a very told for sale sign. Big PTO Ramsey gin pole truck
I have now come into ownership of something that hated me for years. A trophy shop I used to service closed and now cleaned out its storage.
I hate the Vision software and manual port and baud settings and would like to run this on a modern computer.
I understand that there are low cost boards that run open source software?
Would it be fun to tinker with the rebuild? I do have the original security dongle and can find the username and password for the Vision software but I remember it being finicky.
Ordered some Zbox struts from Amazon. We will see how long they last.
I really want to fix the headlights but that looks to be a min of a 600 dollar job
He did perfect but I know what was going through his mind!
He doesn’t chase cows anymore but he does not like them being in human spaces.
Cleaning the tractor after finishing baling and some mommas and babies decided to come up.
We were unwinding at the barn and the mommas thought it may be snack time.
The one with the big momma was born Wednesday night
First, I am not a HT guy, I am a pc tech support/computer guy and a vintage home audio guy but know my way around basic setups.
My friends house took a light hit and I have been helping him replace and setup things.
Samsung QN75xxxxx tv and new Yamaha RX-V385. I cannot get sound to go between the two.
He wants to use the smart tv as primary and the AVS as simply a pass through.
Per all instructions, I should have the cable go from port 3/earc to the hdmi 1 input on the receiver and choose hdmi1 or audio 1 on the receiver but I get no sound. The tv only shows tv speaker or optical. Optical works but then takes volume control away obviously.
We just want the avs to be a pass through like using the old headphone jack or rca’s and have volume control by the tv
Do you think that I can get to the back to replace the hood struts with the loader on? I feel like I need to find a little person and lay them on top of the engine.
Gotta do it because someone is gonna bump the pvc pipe and lose a head!
I am headed to town and I believe I need 5/16 ID line for a Deere 6320 from tank to lift pump?
Let me make sure what all to test.
I put a new battery in Saturday, started instantly. Yesterday went to use it and nothing. Acts like it is not getting any power at all. I checked the 2 30a fuses when I put battery in.
Headlights will come on but when I go to start, I do not get the red oil light that comes on until engine is running.
My list to test is, from front to back..
Key switch, voltage regulator, starter solenoid, neutral safety switch.
I am also going to replace the old glass fuses with new style plastic fuses and holders.
Is there anything else I am missing? Part of me thinks parasitic draw but after 3 days there should be enough juice to click the solenoid or light the red light.
Oh and it may start and run just fine when I go up to it today.
I don’t think it is the stator because all of this happened without the engine running at all.
Once running, it doesn’t show any signs of not charging
