TLDR: Don’t know what to do with the next generation and future of my gaming hobby. PS6/Xbox Helix will be too expensive (and not worth it due to digital only) and I wanna switch to PC but that’s even more too expensive.

I’ll try to keep this short, but I’’ just so lost after the recent announcement PlayStation made that they’re killing off physical games. This just killed something in me. I still want to game, I just, don’t know how to handle it whenever the next generation starts rolling out. The PS6 is likely going to be $1000, which at that point isn’t even worth it if it’s all digital. I want to just switch over to PC but they’re just way too fucking expensive, because everything is getting fucking expensive. I’m 17, soon to be 18, and now that I finally have adult money to spend on my biggest hobby, everything is completely falling out of my reach. I’m going to be stuck on PS5 for years and years. There’s literally no good ending. There’s nothing I can do. I’m so lost and upset. Everything is going up and up and up. I’m literally being priced out.

Title. I currently have a 1080p 24 inch ASUS monitor, 165hz, that I got back in 2022 for only $120. I love the monitor and I think it looks fantastic (especially since it’s only 24 inches) and don’t truly feel a giant NEED to upgrade, but the WANT is starting to come after people started hating on me on twitter for having a 1080p still lol

The one I’m looking at is a Samsung 27 inch monitor, 1440p, 180hz for only $150. (Odyssey G5 G51F in case anyone wants to look it up.) 1440p monitors being well over $200 is a big thing that has caused me to not really think about upgrading, so for $150 it seems like a fantastic deal.

The only thing I’m worried about is it being an extra 3 inches. With the way my setup is (if you scroll down a few posts on my profile you can see the post I made showing it off) it’s already a pretty tight squeeze with my speakers and my Series S (PS5 isn’t an issue since it’s vertical.) So I’m thinking 27 inches may be too big, but let me know what y’all think.

Currently I’m 17 and do not have a car. This is my first job and because I don’t have a car, I’m only able to work weekends. Working weekends sucks because that’s when all the fun stuff happens, but I’ve been dealing with it and two days a week is fine

However, once I get a car, I want to switch to working 4 days per week and stop working weekends. But I know that I’ll likely start being considered full time and they’ll schedule me whenever they want… which I’m worried about. I’ve seen some peoples schedules on here and I DREAD having to work fucking 6 days a week with 10 or 11 hour days or something, especially once I turn 18 and I can legally work more hours. Anyone have any advice or experience with this?

I’m not asking for help as I already have a resolution, I just wanted to discuss and see if this happened to anyone else.

I have a 13 Pro. Have had it for a couple years now after buying refurbished and wanted a battery replacement as it was a 78% health and my battery was not great. So, I went to the closest Apple Store an hour away from me to make sure it was done right.

And well, it was, but it wasn’t. My phone was in perfect working order before the repair, when the guy brought out my phone to me, he told me that my volume down button no longer works. What the fuck? How does that even happen?! I have never seen or heard of anything like it and he claimed they had no clue why it happened, but I can’t say I believe them.

The good part though is that they are not charging me for the battery replacement, and are going to be replacing the entire rear housing for me, also free of charge. I’m just pissed I have to drive an hour back whenever the parts come in.

I have so much fomo over not getting the pro. Paid $450 for my latest model slim back in January, brand spanking new and I love it, truly I do. I switched away from Xbox because I had been with them my whole life, and not only was I just plain bored, but I also don’t know where they’re going as a company But with the new prices of the pro and how good the pro upgrades are (mainly quality mode graphics with performance mode fps is what I want) I have so much regret not getting a pro, even though I wouldn’t have been able to at the time. I’m honestly even worried about GTA VI being only 30fps on the base model, and in general, I am worried that I didn’t futureproof because I’ll likely be running my PS5 for the next few years considering the prices of everything. I just don’t know how to feel.

This obviously is a stupid post, I just need to rant. But I am so mad at myself right now. I switched from Xbox to PS5 in early January, and while I don’t regret that and absolutely love my PS, I ended up selling my Xbox because for one, I didn’t play on it anymore due to not wanting to pay for two online subscriptions, and two, I knew this game was coming to PS5

But what I didn’t know is how long there were gonna take to even announce a release date for the PS5 version. And now I have an insane amount of FOMO. This is the first horizon game since 3 I won’t be there on release for. I am so, so unbelievably upset I can’t play this game. I am tempted to buy a used Series S for cheap at this point because of how badly I don’t wanna miss out on this game. I can’t express how upset I am
