Is this breeder legit?

I found a breeder who seems to focus on Ardentiella and offers very rare species, which are obviously expensive. He has an Insta with videos and photos of his pods. He wants to get in contact with me via WhatsApp (we wrote mails until now), which isn't a deal breaker, but Idk if he is legit or not.

He's not in my country, but EU, which is fine for me.

How can I make sure to not get scammed? Or is a filled Insta a sign of him being legit?

New Dracaenas 😊

I had these two on my wishlist for so long, but they were for one super hard to find, and were very expensive.

I'm glad I finally found a cheap offer and these two came into my care. It's a Lemon Surprise and the spotted one is D. surculosa Mike.

They come in leca and are grown hydroponically. I will get them new Lechuza pots. I've seen roots come out, so they might appreciate a bigger pot.

I've had a Dracaena prior, like 15-20 years ago, but it was struggling and didn't make it. So I'm not really sure how to properly care for them.

Especially when it comes to how often to water, I'm kind of unsure.

How often do you water your Dracaenas? Do you have any tips?

Found two stowaways today

I just pulled not one but two identical huge millipedes out of my Armadillo tank. I've never added millipedes to this tank and they are too big to fit through the air holes.

I do own Rhinocrocus sp., which are my only brown pedes, but they never had babies and they aren't even on the same shelf.

Is this also Rhinocrocus sp.? And is it possible they popped up because of too much heat in the substrate? (we have a heat wave here at the moment)

They must have been buried their entire life and grow under the substrate, as even with bark flips I've never seen any pede in this tank. Super weird.

I mean the two look perfectly fine and healthy, which is great. It is just unexpected.

Terrestrial planarian? Worm? What is it? (Germany)

Just watered my isopod tank and this dude popped up. I have spotted planarian, but they are usually only about a centimeter long. This dude was massive and I have no idea what he is or he came from.

What irritates me is the pointy head. This is typical for the planarian, but why is he so large? (dried mealworms for scale)

The seed is the new hang out spot

I added a big seed a while ago and placed it onto the moss to let it decay faster.

We have a heat wave at the moment and the pods hang out on the moist seed to stay hydrated

In a heat wave can you get a shock from drinking cold water too quickly?

My country goes through a massive heat wave at the moment and ACs aren't a thing here and our houses are from bricks, designed to keep heat inside. Opening the windows isn't really doing much, as it's warmer outside than inside.

My only relieve is cold drinks. But can you harm yourself when drinking too much cold water too quickly?

Geogenanthus ciliatus Midnight

A very moisture loving plant, whose care isn't that easy for me. I'm still learning, but the newest leaves look hot πŸ”₯

Pede chilling inside the moss in heat wave

We currently face a heat wave with 30Β°C indoors, which we rarely have. I try my best to keep the inverts hydrated with water spraying and giving veggies.

This fella here decided he now wants to live in the moss to be at the source of the water.

It's so cool that he's absolutely invisible from the top and in the wild you would never assume to find such a big pede so low below the surface.

I can only imagine how refreshing it was for him to be watered just now.

They love their moist seed

Got this giant seed or whatever it is a short time ago and I always thoroughly wet it on bin day. The springtails love the wet seed 😊

Hot/ cold side vs. dry/ moist side

I'm in the works of getting my first ever big bioactive enclosure. I'm planning on using a clean up crew. I'm experienced with invert keeping and know the isopods need a moist side with Sphagnum and a rather dry side.

I also know a BP needs a hot and a cooler side. I will achieve this with heating on one end. But is the hot end the moist, or the dry side?

How can I achieve a moisture gradient for the isopods when I also use heating, which evaporates the moisture?

Florida Ghost is struggling

I have her for a few months. She got her subadult leaf shape two leaves ago, but has dropped two leaves over night. The newest sheath also gets brown.

What is wrong? She sits under a full spectrum grow light 10-12 hrs a day and gets water every 8-10 days.

What can I do to save her?

Legs are heavy

I really don't know if my moderate/severe is getting worse or what it is. Lately my legs are so heavy when walking, that I feel like it pulls me to the ground and makes me fall.

Even navigating my house became super difficult for that reason and I'm kind of not seeing me leave the house for doctors' appointments etc.

Why are my legs so heavy? Do you know this symptom? Is it a sign my ME is getting worse? I'm really worried as I'm alone. If I became bed bound, I had to give up my house and move into a care facility, as there is nobody to take care of me.

How tall should the enclosure be?

(pic: from Instagram via Google, not mine)

I'm in the process of building my first ever ball python tank and can freely decide on how tall I want the tank, as it's a custom build.

How tall should it be to allow climbing properly? How tall are your tanks and did you ever wish you had more height?

Custom built bioactive terrarium - costs?

First of, the decision to get a custom built terrarium is fixed. I'm myself not able to even pick up materials from the store, as I can't carry heavy, don't have a car and am disabled. I've been saving up money, as good as possible, to get my dream terrarium.

I will get the full build, including substrate, backpanel, hardware, tech stuff like misting system, light and heat, as well as plants down to clean up crew.

The company will do everything from the first planning to delivery and building it at the designated location.

I'm looking at about 150x60cm tank with a cupboard custom built, where the tech stuff hides. The tank itself should be 60-80cm high. It's an all inclusive job, with substrate and decoration.

Also they deliver country wide.

What will this cost?

Does anybody of you have had a tank custom built and knows how much they can charge me for?

Look who I spotted today β™₯οΈπŸ–€

Xenobolus carnifex

I got them tiny about a year ago and literally haven't seen them since the day I got them. I thought they all had died ages ago for whatever reason.

And today, he's just chilling there out in the open, as if it was the most normal thing. And he has gotten huge!

I prepare myself to not see him again for a year πŸ™ˆ but glad he's fine

Thought you might like this bugger I came across today 😊 (Germany)

Location: Germany

Size about 6-7mm

I'm not familiar with her ID, but my uneducated self would assume it's a jumping spider from the way she moved? (short sprints with pause in between)

Reservation of a snake at a breeder?

With your help I finalized the decision to get a BP. When I saw the banana morph years ago, I knew that this will be my future dream snake.

I now found a local breeder, who has a banana which is exactly what I was looking for. It's the perfect snake.

How to proceed now? I just got in contact with a terrarium building company and they will produce my terrarium and build it at my house. I don't yet know how long this process takes, but is it recommended to reservate the snake, so I securely get this one?

Or is the banana morph so common that I will find a suitable snake again, if this one is sold?

What would you do?
