B. volubilis leaves all dried up

I got her recently when she already had a nice leaf situation going on. She sits in my highest light South facing window. I maybe watered her twice since I got her a few weeks ago. She now has all her leaves getting brown and crispy.

Is this shock from the move? Was watering her wrong? (the onion always felt plump and hard)

I never owned Bowiea before, so I don't really know what I'm doing. But I have had the pregnant onion plant before for decades and it always did great.

New Agleonema is flowering - can I pollinate?

I got this A. White Joy in the mail today and it has a cute nubby flower. The leaves are partially damaged and she might get rid of a few. But having her flower raises the question if I can pollinate her? Is there anybody out there with experience in Agleonema pollination?

Finally new growth!

I got my Cycas revoluta in October of 2025 and in the last 10 months she didn't do anything. No leaves grew, no leaves withered. Just nothing.

When I was watering her, I noticed she finally puts out new leaves! I'm so happy she finally decided that she liked my care and grows now ๐Ÿ˜Š

Antheromorpha uncinata ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ–ค

They're doing great and have settled in great over the past weeks. Still waiting for babies though.

My plant got sunburned

It's a twin leaf (second leaf from existing bulb), which just emerged. I gave it a support stalk, but it broke free and leaned onto my grow light, which absolutely scorched the living crap out of this leaf..

I guess this is permanent damage and can't be healed?

My Alocasia pushed out the most perfect leaf ๐Ÿ˜

Still pretty new to Alocasia, so I'm still amazed by how perfect their leaves are

(flash warning) The silver springtails love Koi sticks

Fed them these sticks for the first time today and they swarmed them and eat them for hours now

(the lights only flicker on video. For the naked eye they don't)

Does anybody know what the small white stripes on the back are there for?

Spotted a juvenile Maui under the cork bark today ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿค

And boy it was fast running over the cork bark to find a shaded place ๐Ÿ˜Š

I'm always so happy to see them thrive, as they live so hidden and bury a lot.

Harmless silver fish or dangerous paper fish?

Found on my bathroom floor, he was smaller than 1cm, so definitely a juvenile

Drops on a Drosera/ Pinguicula

I've witnessed a spider hanging in the droplets of my Drosera. She was glued a bit, but was still moving. The next day the spider had broken free and left.

I know that the plant will use enzymes to dissolve bugs.

Now my question is: will the spider survive, or do the droplets contain enzyme and will kill the spider wherever it went, as it had contact to the drops?

So basically are the drops we see each day only there to attract and catch bugs and the enzyme is only produced when the plant has successfully catched a bug? Or are the droplets already made of enzyme and will dissolve anything that ever touched them?

Sorry if this is a stupid question.

Milk Confetti ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿฉท

My Syngonium has these super cute and healthy looking leaves ๐Ÿ˜ I've used an Orchid fertilizer for a few weeks (to use it up) and the Syngonium seems to love this.

Is this the sign to get more Syngonium? ๐Ÿ˜…

It's still a baby plant and my first ever Syngonium.

Hair cleaning in heat wave

I know that shampooing your hair daily can lead to oily skalp and hair. We have a heat wave at the moment and my hair (buzz cut) gets sweaty over the day.

If I shampooed yesterday and today only rinsed them with water, will that

  1. make them clean/ not smelly? And

  2. will this also cause an oily skalp? Or is it no issue when I don't use shampoo on day 2?

Fruchtfliegen-Melone

I 'finished' a dream series I had going on for two decades

I try to make it short, so it's better to understand. As a back info, I have the highest school degree possible in my country (Abitur), but had really bad school grades on my final degree paper. So while people say "Oh Abitur is great" they would see my grades and see I just barely made it.

I then did three apprenticeships in the following years (and learned three different occupations), went to university and then settled in my job.

The dream is me going back to school to redo my Abitur to get better grades. This is *not* something you do here. I don't even think it's legally possible. But that's what the dream is about.

So I go back to school and write tests, experience the same mobbing as back then and the dream ends somewhere there.

Not this night though. This night I wrote my final test, experienced mobbing and then know the time is over. I know I'm free to go, so I basically say "Kiss my arse you disgusting folks, I'm out here" and then I leave.

Never before did this happen. The dream comes back 1-2 times a year for two decades now and always ends with me being in the test phase, writing exams and being treated like shit.

But tonight I knew it was the end. And I left the school grounds with the knowledge that I never have to go there again and won't see the stupid class mates again, who gave me such a hard time.

---

I have no idea what that could mean. I didn't accomplish anything in the real world lately. In the real world my school papers still show bad grades, but as I'm in a job, nobody really cares for your grades anymore.

I really hope that this dream series now finally ends. The constant reminder of mobbing always leaves me hurt when I wake up from that dream, as this is reactivating trauma.

Does anybody of you had a similar case where a dream series actually ended at some point?

And what does it mean for my real life?

Tldr: I dreamed of getting better school grades and finally finishing school. What does this want to tell me? (I'm in my 40s)

Different types of Sphagnum?

I have a terrarium which has a beautiful thick lush Sphagnum cushion (pic 1), but it's been there for ages, so I don't remember how it looked when it arrived.

I just bought a few kilos of live Spaghnum, which has long pale strands (pic 2). Is this a different type of Sphagnum? Or how can I get it to grow such a cushion?
