redditrequest for blank subreddit denied by bot

I made a request for adoption after the mod didn't respond to mail for 5 days (still hasn't), the subreddit was created years ago and is completely empty: not a single post, no description, flairs, rules, etc. The mod said no in the post and it got rejected by the bot. What are my options if any?

Curious: can a mod give the top mod spot to someone knowing they aren't and won't be active?

On one subreddit I saw a mod give the top mod spot to someone who is officially affiliated with said topic of the subreddit, whose profile says "1 contribution" and that's the only subreddit they moderate, doesn't appear to be an active mod. I'm guessing its fine?

Shouldn't this portal be blue if it leads to the Windforce?

0/10 SFOTH homage, the red portal leads to the Firebrand & Rocket Boots which we already have. And why is the other side of the portal a separate another room instead of doing instant teleportation like SFOTH?

Fun fact: no enemies have rolling HP meters because they all have aggressor equipped.

Some enemies would do zero damage without Aggressor, its a miracle card!

I second-guessed recently getting a base mac mini, but I actually caught the last chopper out of 'nam!

I bought it 2 months ago with the student discount, for $499. Before both the discontinuation of the 16GB model (with the next model costing $799), and Apple now requiring verification for student discounts. Despite all the headlines about Openclaw exhausting mac mini supply, I picked it up the same day at the Boston Apple store.

I got it for only one app: Pixelmator Pro, I like it MUCH more than Photoshop and Affinity. It's worth switching back and forth between my PC and Mac since I use it a lot.

Maybe Trotter and the pirates could've been saved if the player brought them here

This room can only be accessed by shrinking, and the kitchen has the ingredients to make a shrink potion, or the player could share his. Blackrock castle has fallen, if they were lucky the money would still be here.

What do you think about making this the subreddit banner?

Personally I think it looks better than using a cropped thumbnail.

Windorce is the only sword to not do anything to the player

The Ghostwalker made the player face their inner emotions, the other swords were used by bosses.

Curious: why is it the users problem if the newest unstable package versions build to fail? Why not use previous package versions in that case?

I know its called nixpkgs-unstable but its needed to not have packages that are months old. I've been waiting days to rebuild my nix darwin configuration and its due to package build errors that with issues on the nixpkgs github that have been open for weeks. Why couldn't Nix just use the last known working versions of packages or dependencies? Or why are new package versions pushed and not pulled back if there are build errors?

Installing both stable and unstable packages in a flake?

I looked this up but only found a bunch of posts asking how to fix specific users configurations which are hard to follow along with, and none of them provide a complete example for someone to copy. Searching for examples as well as asking LLMs didn't yield results either (the examples showed dev shells and derivations, which seem to be overkill). When trying I got errors like duplicate formal function argument 'pkgs' and expected a set but found a function: «lambda.

I wont share my config, I think it would be much better for someone to post a working example of everything to specify in flake.nix and configuration.nix.

About user reports

First of all, only use the report button if something truly breaks Reddit policy or the rules in the sidebar.

>I am an alum of the band and heavily involved with the steering committee

Reddit mods cannot see usernames of those who make post or comment reports (the only way I would who are you is if you made a post, comment, or modmail, all of which have usernames attached). Don't share identifying information in reports either as I can't rule out the possibility of impersonation (which by the way is against Reddit policy).

>We will address this, but asking people on Reddit to air grievances is going to make this more of an issue, especially when the university had good reason to say what little they did.

Users that make reports like this are very likely the kind of people that I might not be able to have logical discussions with or aren't worth the time of day, online or IRL. Either way don't order around reddit mods like this, I really wish so many users didn't misuse the report feature, I've gotten many crappy messages like this one and like 99% of the time I keep the reported posts or comments up.

r/umass is meant for many things, including talking about school drama and problems with the school or the area. Like most colleges, there are many, while I don't like how Reddit is run, its the one forum platform to be mainstream, it's sort of a godsend to easily get lots of information on specific topics like this one. Users should be able to have any conversations they want within subreddit rules, including topics they might be able to talk about IRL or undesirable by faculty. If someone is or I have reason to believe they're spreading misinformation then I can remove posts.

>This guy is a new profile ...

This is normal. It's like Hanlon's Razor except more like, don't attribute malice to something that can be explained by anything else. New accounts are made to post on this subreddit all the time. over a year ago I filters for new and possibly malicious accounts to manually approve posts, but it did more bad than good. It just wasn't worth filtering out the many users making accounts to catch rare rule breaking posts (there's even less rule breaking after I removed them, I guess that crowd mostly faded now), and not only this subreddit but reddit as a whole has grown a ton in the past few years.

With all that out of the way, the drama with the marching band is distressing, I blocked out some time to read all the posts and many comments about it. I'm not going to describe the situation or allegations, I think its best to just pin posts and lets folks form their own opinions.

But honestly that report message is by far the longest one I've ever received in my years of moderating a handful of subreddits. It made me think that this situation is more complex than it actually might be (might, just can't say for certain with the possibility of more information or allegations coming out later) and I would've looked at it a little sooner.

(I didn't have to make this post at all but I really felt like it)

Leer is such a clown

He randomly walked in and disrupts by saying "Alright the boss said to clean up so" out of nowhere, and questions how the player is still alive. Then he demands them to hand over the Windforce after they just whacked Arg'il and Frostmaw.

Hopefully the devs figure out the overarching plot and conflict by the time the ending comes out.

Downloading songs with all metadata + art for services like Navidrome?

I just started looking at self-hosted music streaming and installed Navidrome, and looked up getting music with all data but I'm overwhelmed, it's hard to tell what's the best method. I tried spotdl but found out the hard way Spotify only weeks ago, paywalled their API. I'd prefer a CLI like yt-dlp (and maybe a gui).

Songrec: A backend-specific error has occurred: ALSA function ‘snd_pcm_hw_params’ failed with error ‘No such file or directory (2)’

I install songrec by specifying pkgs.songrec. I get the error in both the GUI and doing songrec listen. I have services.pipewire.enable = true;, I tried both pipewire.alsa.enable = true; and hardware.alsa.enablePersistence = true; and rebuilding + restarting, but those don't work either.
