Anyone feel like SR2 is a downgrade from SR1?

I had the game in my backlog for a few months now since it was in PS plus monthly games a few months ago and I wanted to try it after playing the first game which I really liked. So far, most of the things I like about the game are the same reason why I liked the first game, but is it just me or is this game super grindy. I don't mind games being grindy as long as the grind is fun but this game sometimes oversteps it a bit.

I'm at the Grey Labyrinth part of the game and I just need so much resources to make craft stuff and grinding to collect all the many different resources in the game just makes the game feel more like a unfun grind fest for resources than a cozy game at certain times. I feel like the resource gathering wouldn't be as much of a problem if you had a way to have more inventory space, 6 is a nice upgrade from the first game but I feel like it would be nice to have even more space since the game is so much more focused on gathering resources compared to the first one.

I hate learning new things

I just hate learning new things, especially boring things. It's one of the reasons why I hated school because everything you learn is just so dang boring.

I get bored very easily so whenever I get bored when learning something, I just find it hard to stay focused on the subject which often makes me get distracted easily by doing stuff like doodling, cracking my fingers, and daydreaming. It's probably the main reason why I got low grades when I was in high school. I have no idea how people manage to stay focused on learning these very boring stuff, I can't even force myself to study for tests cause of how fast I get distracted and how boring studying is in general.

I love spending all day in my home for multiple days.

I love spending all day in my home for multiple days.

I'm 20 and if I'm not going to work, getting groceries, or something in the sort then I like to just cooped myself in my house all day long for multiple days and I love it, especially when I'm alone.

I know I might sound crazy but I honestly kinda liked and miss COVID because of the pandemic that made us stay inside and a lot of people say they hated it, but man did I love every bit of it and never understood why people wouldn't love it. You're saying that I'm required to stay inside all day being away from people? You don't have to tell me twice cause I love to do that anyways.

I heard a lot of people say this is a bad thing and I can see why for some people but I really love it and will take any chance to do this. Being able to sit on my couch and watch my favorite shows and movies, play my favorite video games, and lay down on my bed while reading books and listening to music all day sounds like a dream to me.

DAE: Drink water by filling up their cheeks with it then swallowing?

I'll let the water fill my entire mouth until my cheeks are puffed out then I'll start swallowing. It doesn't have to be just water, I do this with literally any drink that I drink.

How do I stop being so shy when it comes to meeting new people?

Pretty much all of the people that I know, besides my family, bthat I talk to are because they decided to talk to me first and the rest was history. I always just feel so shy when I meet new people and I often feel uncomfortable being with new people, especially at work, so I often want you to start it off cause I'm too scared to do it.

I still remember one time at work that I gained the courage to say hey, to a new coworker. I said "What's up, man" to him but he just stared at me like I'm weird or something. The whole situation just made me feel super awkward and I didn't want to do it again. The crazy thing is that he's good buddies with a lot of other coworkers now, so I'm not sure what I did wrong.

I basically wanna feel comfortable with myself to start talking to new people without feeling all shy and awkward and stop relying on them to make the first move cause I'm too scared to start it off myself.

How do y'all feel about customizable difficulty settings?

I have always been kinda conflicted on this game design choice. In one way it's nice to be able to customize the game to your liking but at the same time, I feel like the player shouldn't be allowed to have this much freedom and I have no idea.

For example, Doom Dark Ages has an option to tweak the settings around like parrying to make it brain dead easy or frame perfect and in a way, it just feels wrong to use every time I use it, like I'm using cheats or hacking or something. I feel like the devs shouldn't let the player have this much freedom and should restrict the player from being able to change these settings to at least after you beat the game. But at the same time, I feel like having no customized settings would make me like the game less since I can bypass mechanics that I find annoying and unfun by tweaking those settings to make them easier.

Overall I just feel kinda conflicted whenever I see games do this and I just don't know how I feel about it.

Anyone prefer playing on handhelds than consoles?

I love my PS5 and Switch 2 but I honestly just find gaming on a handheld to be more relaxing and fun than on a TV or monitor.

Maybe it could be due to being a Nintendo lover since my favorite gaming systems are handhelds which include both Switch systems and Both 3DS systems. Man I had like 5 3DS as a kid because I kept dropping them and I honestly feel bad for making my dad keep buying another one for me. Overall I just love the capability of handhelds being you can take it with you. I often like to move around my house while I game so I find it very convenient, but with a home console, you're just stuck in a single room which I find kind of restrictive and makes me not wanna play on it as long as a handheld.

Finished FF7 OG

I played the Remake first so I was a bit skeptical going back to the original game but man I'm so glad I did cause this is a good ass game, I'd give it a 8/10.

The story was very interesting and kept me going even though I find the gameplay a bit repetitive. The characters are very easy to like which makes me love even more. Even with the game being old as it is and the graphics being outdated, exploring the world still feels fun to explore.

Overall this is a great game and I highly recommend all JRPG fans to play this.

DAE: Delete and reupload Reddit posts if they don't get much attention?

A lot of times when I make posts, if it doesn't get the attention that I wanted to get, what I'll do is delete the post and reupload it again in the exact same subreddit to see if this time it'll get more like and comments even if sometimes I don't even bother engaging with what the comments say. Kinda makes me feel like an attention seeker online even though I usually try to avoid drawing attention to myself IRL.

Anyone feel like playing games is like a checklist now?

There are a lot of games that I played where I had fun with them but I eventually get to the point where I start to rush through them just so I can reach the end quicker and be done with the game, one example I have right now is with OG FF7. I really like the game, definitely a 8/10 game for me, but I'm currently at the home stretch of beating the game and I often just try to rush through it instead of taking my time with it. I will keep the 3x speed on and turn off random encounters just so I can get to the credits faster so I can be done with the game and move on to the next game.

Why are 3 traffic lights for 2 lanes?

I'm still pretty new to driving but why are there 3 lights. I get the left light is for turning left but what does the right one mean? Does the middle light mean go straight and the right light mean go right?

CMV: Ambiguous endings feel unsatisfying.

For example, I just finished up watching Evangelion and the movie End of Evangelion and thought I really enjoyed the show and the movie, the movie kinda just got me wanting more answers that I'll never get because of the ambiguous ending.

The writer basically wants you to interpret your thoughts on what happens to the characters but what I think happens to the characters shouldn't matter because what I think is just my head canon and not officially true. I can interpret what happens to the characters in the end, but I'll actually never know if my interpretation is true or not cause they never get answered and it just leaves me feeling kinda unsatisfied and craving more episodes, that I'll never get, to know what happens to characters after the end.

Why do a lot of fans not like the padding in Remake?

I finished Remake a few weeks ago and I'm currently playing the OG (at Nibelheim for the second time), so I can't fully judge the story, but one thing I notice is how much shorter sections is compared to the Remake. I'm mainly gonna focus on the Midgar part since that's where I left off in the Remake games.

Maybe it's because I played Remake first, but I enjoyed the padding. Since areas are much bigger in Remake, it gives them more nuance and makes me appreciate them more compared to the OG. Areas like the Sewer and Train Graveyard were sections that I really enjoyed in the Remake, but playing the OG didn't make them feel as special since you're not in there as long. Wall Market is an area that I liked in both games, but Remake especially made that town feel more grand and welcoming. When it comes to characters so far, I think Remake fleshes out a lot of characters. Especially when it comes to Jessie, Biggs, and Wedge; I really liked the mission with them in Remake and it was kinda sad that the OG didn't really do much with them.

How do I consistently not be scared of being social?

In the past 2 years, I have been working on being more social with people and in some ways I have improved like being more talkative with people and being in crowds, but I just don't know how to maintain those experiences.

I've gotten better at talking to people more comfortably now but I can't seem to be consistent at it and I end up getting worse at it again over time. I still often avoid talking to people I know and I don't know why even though I learned to stop doing it but I just end up starting to do it again.

It feels like I'm fighting with what my brain wants and what I actually want and my brain just can't comprehend being consistent at being social and would rather just regress back to where I started cause it was easier for me and I just don't know how to progress forward to fix this part of myself and be consistent at it to the where it's second nature to me now.

How do I know what I wanna be?

I'm a 20M who's not doing anything in my life. I'm not attending college and I'm not doing any trades and it's because I'm not sure what to pick cause I rely too much on others to choose them for me.

I thought about going to college but the only reason I wanted to was because that's what everyone else did and what everyone told me to do. I'm not sure if that's what "I" wanna do cause I don't even know what to major in cause nothing sounds interesting to me. Doesn't help that I didn't like school that much in general so the thought of going back to school just makes me icky. I also thought about going to trades, but only because that's what my brother wanted to do, not on my own accord. I literally have no idea on what I wanna do and the fact that there are so many choices makes it hard to choose one.

I feel like I don't have any individuality when it comes to choosing my future job and I'm not really passionate in anything either. I don't want to work a job that I'll get tired of doing fast cause it'll just make me even more depressed than I am now. I don't really have anyone cheering me on either to motivate me to reach my goals.

[Discussion] How to stay motivated to give myself a good future?

I'm 20 living with my dad and twin brother and we all help out with the bills. My brother is mostly the money maker of the house and in a way I get kinda jealous and it makes me hate myself for that cause he worked hard to get that job. I'm proud of him but at the same time, I resent him for it because my dad and other family members talk highly of him because of the work he put in, sometimes I wish that was me instead of him which just makes me feel like a terrible brother and person in general.

I wanna be someone that I and my family members can be proud of but I'm currently not really moving forward to gain that future for myself. I thought about just going on the same career path as my brother but I feel like I'm just following in his footsteps instead of having my own individuality. So I thought about going to college, but I always end up just getting scared of the thought of it and pushing that thought away. I thought about getting in trades, but I always end up getting scared of the thought of it and pushing it away.

I feel like I'm just too scared to make my decisions and would rather have someone willingly force me to move forward cause Im just too scared to do it on my own. I honestly don't know what I wanna do so I always just push the thought away cause it's easier not to think about it even though I know my dad and brother isnt gonna be there with me forever. Even worse that I'm starting to hate my current job and I think it's negatively affected my mental health, but I'm too scared to quit and find a new job.

How do I fix my mental health when I try to avoid help?

I'm not even sure what I'm trying to do at this point. I feel depressed pretty much every day now and it feels terrible, but at the same time I just don't care how I feel and I just try to live with the depression even if it's feeding off me.

I have these two big lumps on my neck that been there for like 2 months now, but I honestly don't even care to go check them out and to see my if it's a serious problem or not. I'm 20 and still haven't found what I wanna do for my future but I also don't really care to put in the effort to make a better future for myself. I feel lonely, but I also actively try to avoid people I know that want to know about me and my lifestyle cause I'm scared of attachment and abandonment. I don't want to kill myself, but I have wished that I could just disappear from this world and everyone just forget I exist. I thought about therapy but always just ignore the thought of it and I don't know why cause I know I need it.

At this point, I feel like I'm kinda just apathetic towards my own well-being and I know I should try to get better but at the same time I don't care if I get better or not and I don't want to put the effort in to try to fix myself because it seems like too much work and I feel like its easier to just accept whatever is going around with me. Sometimes I wish someone could just take control of my body and put me on the right path for me so I don't have to figure it out myself.

Am I lazy or is something else going on with me?

When I'm at home and I finished all my responsibilities, the only thing I really do in my free time is spend all day on the couch or in my room playing video games or watching TV. Its pretty much the number one hobby that I really enjoyed doing ever since I was a little kid so they're very special to me. I used to like drawing and playing basketball when I was in school but I never really felt motivated to do those things anymore ever since I graduated high school 2 years ago.

But when I'm at work, I'm constantly told that I'm a very hard worker since I'm always focused on getting my work done and I work outside in the heat all day too which I just deal with even if it makes me very sweaty. I also like to help out in other departments and people in general cause helping out is something I like to do even if the job is tough and I get sick of doing it, but it makes me feel good about myself.

Am I a introvert or something else?

When I'm at home with my brother, I'm very loud, energetic, and obnoxious with him.

But when I'm out in public, I usually just keep my mouth shut 90% of the time and I try not to talk to people a lot, even with my brother.

Would this make me an introvert or something else?
